I'm in a group chat with friends and a couple have androids. So that means its not iMessage. It wont let me leave the group chat, I don't even get the option, how i can leave?

i have been stuck in a group chat since january. Some days it useful but most days its just a drain on my battery life and vibrating annoyance in my pocket. IT IS ABSOLUTELY rediculous that apple would create a collaborative message program without a way for the user to exit. they are so focused on voice regonition and other useless software when they hve major issues to address like this. I think apple should refund my messaging bill for the past 3 months or buy my next nonapple cellphone.

I can only delete the conversation but I cannot remove myself from it. As soon as someone talks in the group chat again, it comes back.

Crossed over from an iphone 4s to an Lg G4 7 days ago. Love the phone but trying to group text between me and my iphone buddies is proving very difficult. I cant see their original responses in the group, instead only see individual responses. Initiating a group text results in only my buddies seeing only my response and no one else.
I've deregistered my phone number from apples website a couple days ago and even days earlier turned off imessaging on my old device but still get the same results. I downloaded and installed textra made it my default messaging app, turned on the group mms option still same thing. I've even told my friends to delete my contact information on their phones and wait for a group text from me; same result. What more can i do? I dont think telling them to turn off imessaging on their end is fair because all their text messages to other iphones will be sent not using imessage. What more can i do?
Could it be possible that the way my contacts are setup is screwing up my group messaging? Or is this strictly an ios glitch on apples side? How do you all go about setting up group texts and can you name a group text? My group name is always "3" standing for the 3 other recipients that i send the message to. Is there no way to rename this?
I just switched to the LG G3 from the iPhone 5, so did my husband. We regularly group message 2 iPhone users, so when we tried to start a new conversation, my husband can see all the messages but I can not. Sometimes I'll get a new text from "Anonymous" saying "message not found" and it seems like it happens when my husband messages the group. Why is it functioning properly for his phone, but not mine? This morning I got the same message from Anonymous and my husband did not text the group, so now I'm obviously missing out on messages!! This is so frustrating! I have iMessages turned off on my old iPhone, the iPhone users have group text and SMS turned on on their phones, they've reentered our contacts, we're using the stock messaging app on the LG. I don't know what to do. And it's totally inconvenient to ask all my iPhone using friends to text through WhatsApp or any other app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from an iphone 4 to an LG G3 and have been unable to consistently receive group messages from iphone users. Sometimes messages will come through, but about 95% of the time I do not receive them; however, the people in my group do receive my messages. I am aware that this is a common issue among Android users, and I have read about it extensively online for weeks now, but I still have not come up with a solution. I have tried using multiple different messaging apps including the default messaging app, chomp sms, textra, hangouts, etc. I have also turned off imessages on my old phone, typed in the code for Apples "unsubscribe" from imessage thing, and texted STOP to the number to disable imessages.
I am running the latest version of Android. I also replaced my old SIM but still no luck. MMS group message settings are all enabled on my phone too. I didn't see a post about this in regards to the LG G3 specifically so I decided to make one. I have heard suggestions of people saying to tell your iphone friends to adjust settings on their phones, but I wanted to find a solution without having to tell all of my friends to mess with their settings to accommodate me. I absolutely love everything about my new android phone after making the switch from Apple, but this one problem is seemingly large that I hope it doesn't force me to go back to an iphone.
I am using an iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1.1, but I seem to be having a problem with one group chat. Including me there are 8 people in the group chat, everyone in the group chat is using Verizon except me who is using Tmobile and another user in the chat that is using sprint. The problem is that I do not get everyones messages but if I do get any messages I only receive a couple from some users and they are very delayed, Like hours delayed.

My friends (that all have iPhones, of different carriers and versions) are trying to add me to their group chat but they said it won't work (I saw first hand two of them try and it didn't work.)
I have checked to see if my group chat is on, and it is. I'm in a group chat with my family (dad being the creator, Droid, Android OS) and there is an iPhone in it too, works fine.
I'm wondering if it's because I switched my default messaging app (I doubt that though) to Google's "Messenger". I saw some people comment on another thread to use "Stock Messenger" or Stock something, but I have no app like that on my phone.
My iMessage does not work for group chat. Messsages get sent as a text not an iMessage.

I downloaded GO SMS Pro, and thought that it was working. However, now I can only send texts and photos. When the recipients respond, I don't receive the texts. And the few times I do, it's not in the group chat window, but a separate one.
I do have MMS Group Chat Enabled. Not sure if I need to remove the stock messaging app, or adjust any other settings.
Basically I'd like to be able to text and share photos, as well as receive texts in one group chat window. Is this possible with Go SMS or any other app?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I am in a group chat and am on a wifi network the messages never actually are delivered to my phone, i just get a little bubble that i can click that makes my phone download the message. When this happens ill get a whole bunch of undownloaded messages piling up and my phone keeps trying to process them i assume so it heats up to an extreme level. Has this issue with messages not downloading over wifi and if this causes there phone to heat up a lot too, this also causes my battery to drain extremely fast. I just tried downloading the google messenger app (not hangouts) to see if this problem would be solved and it still isnt working. And yes all my other apps are working on the wifi so its not an issue with the wifi.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNot long ago I took screenshots of in my phone (Xperia Z3) and camera shots which I then sent in a group chat on Facebook to some friends. Not long after I deleted them and it was fine. Recently I have noticed those photos are coming back whenever someone in the group chat sends a photo. Based on this I believe it has something to do with the Accounts section with syncs the contacts and such to your phone.
It is always the same group of images that reappear despite the fact I constantly delete them. I have tried restoring the phone to factory settings, making backups with images deleted and restoring it, removing my accounts and retrying them along with several other solutions. However, I still cannot seem to delete the photos.
I was previously in a group iMessage with two other iPhone users. One of the users recently got an android phone and now our group thread is having issues. We all need to send texts only but the iMessage is all the two iPhone users can send. We tried turning off out iMessage in the settings section but this was a short term solution. I have been in previous group messages with android users and it has worked however when we attempt to create a new chat window it automatically goes into iMessage.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have an iPhone 5 and have a group chat with other iOS users. One user is overseas so can only use WiFi to chat. I'm planning to get the S6 in April, but have been confused over whether or not I can group chat with just the messaging apps provided. My parents both have the S5 and when they group chat me using the Verizon Messenger app, it works just fine. However, I've heard from others that the texts come through separately, or that its just impossible to group chat with iOS users. We've talked about using other apps like Hangouts, etc, but those tend to drain batteries faster.
After doing some more research, I read that the Verizon messenger app lets you chat via WiFi, but will that jive with iMessage? I don't want another iPhone and I'm very excited about the S6, but its just frustrating not being sure if we can keep our group chat up.
Been pretty happy with the ICON. Noticed a problem with sending group messages to Sprint Android users from Verizon ICON. They are getting a blank group message. Tried an Android on ATT and it worked. My friend tried it from is WP on Verizon and he gets the same results. Tried to talk to VZW and "We'll look into this" and now its marked as resolved but the same issue exists.

Since the new JB update I have lost the ability to group email and group text. I used to be able to go to the "To:" field, type in the group name and click it. Now that is all gone. Is there a way to get it back or is this another JB issue?
