View 5 RepliesI have a 3gs with OS4 on it, which i recently JB with the website method. I have downloaded apps onto my phone via installous and when i go to itunes and sync, it deletes all those apps. I have tried and stopping the sync, and then choosing: "Transfer purchases from" and it works with some of my jailbroken apps, but not all. The ones that dont transfer over to itunes dont stay on the phone. Also i noticed that all my folders on the phone disappear and i have to keep organizing all my applications (major pain).
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis may be a problem covered in a few places already, but I feel like I'm going crazy trying to find up to date answers to my questions, since it feels like the software is constantly changing. So I jailbroke a 3G 3.0 iphone that belonged to a friend. I had some battery problems so decided to update it to 3.1.2. So I downloaded the ipsw for this and the pwnage tool. I went through the steps and went into DFU mode, was prompted to go to itunes and restore with my costume ipsw. I did this, but can't use the 'shift-restore' trick to select the update. Now I'm stuck in recovery/DFU mode (not sure which) and can't even restore to 3.1.3 because I unlocked the phone and don't have the original sim. All I want is to get my phone back up and running on a 3.1.x OS.
View 11 Replies View Relatedto erase my data and sell the phone. It is 4.0.1 jailbreakme.com and Ultrasn0w 1.1-1. Surely there is something on Cydia that will do this. Have searched and the only thing I see is erase all data and rejailbreak. I am worried I will end up upgrading the phone and not be able to jailbreak. Any help?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a jailbroken, unlocked iPhone 3G that I'm selling. how would I go about erasing all the apps, music, data, etc, on it, while still leaving it jailbroken and unlocked?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI sold my iPhone 3gs as "unlocked" on ebay since my iPhone 4 is coming tomorrow. Tonight I jailbroke it with spirit, then unlocked it with cydia/ultrasn0w. I was about to pack it up when I decided I should "Erase all content and settings" so that the buyer won't have any of my contact's info or anything.I put my phone in DFU mode and it won't restore. "This device isn't eligible for the requested build".I've tried everything. I went into Terminal and edited /etc/hosts to point to cydia instead of pointing to apple, but my gut tells me that its not working because the "Erase all content and settings" removed any traces of cydia.
I've never jailbroken anything before and have limited experience with this kind of stuff. I've downloaded all types of firmware versions (3.0, 3.01, 3.1.3) and nothing will take. The phone is just cycling over and over between the apple logo and a black screen. The phone needs an OS, apple knows I tried to jailbreak I guess and won't let me restore, and since I did an "erase all" I can't utilize any of the hacks to bypass apple's safeguard.I've run blackra1n to no avail as well. Nothing I do seems to reverse this awful mistake I've made. What do I do?
Error 1015 indicates that your phone was/is jailbroken. If it was not, then this indicates a hardware failure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my 32g iPhone 4 about 2 weeks ago. After jailbraking the phone, I noticed a couple of things.1st: when the iPhone reboots I noticed a little thin LCD light showing through. 2nd: I noticed after jailbraking, I could not sign on to Facebook using app sign on. 3rd: when restoring to factory setting prior to visiting genius bar, my phone got stuck and froze up on apple logo indefinitely.Lucky for me, the tec at apple was cool and exchange it for a brand new one. Warranty is void on any jailbroken iPhones. After all that trouble, I dont think I'll jailbrake this one it's not worth it.

I've just bought a new iPhone, and I want to sync everything that was on my iPhone 5 phone onto my iPhone 5S. The trouble is, on my "old" phone (the one I am using now), the apps I have on it aren't able to be downloaded in my country anymore, and my apps aren't synced to my computer because I didn't want to risk losing them when I synced it to my recently purchased MacBook. They are critical apps to my phone... I can't go without having them on my phone. My phone is backed up to my computer, so will doing a backup on the new phone give me the apps from the old phone?

A co worker of mine racked up 2 gigs of data 2 months ago and burned through a blistering 8.6 gigs of data this past month. All of this on his 3Gs and none of it done by tethering with a jailbroken iPhone. He "claims" that he has no clue how it happened but I'm guessing he knows. How many video clips of wholesome family entertainment would he have to download to hit that impossible number. I nearly myself when I saw the bill.

My idiot ex (a supervisor on the apple care line!) jaibroke my phone and I hate it. It won't even turn on, now, it's stuck in recovery mode. How do I fix this? I'm trying to make it work through iTunes but I get error 1601. He used something called Red Snow, if that helps. I'm absolutely sick right now. I never once wanted this thing jailbroken, nevermind absolutely broken. Especially by an Apple employee.

A friend of mine jailbroke my phone, and I absolutely hate it. I've tried multipe time to reset all and restore it from the phone. Every time I do so, my phone stays on this black screen with a spinning wheel. It never goes away. I can't restore my phone from iTunes, because I use an Internet card and the download to update my phone before restoring, is too big. What can I do?!?!!

I need your help about a sync problem I have between my iPhone and Mail.app on my Snow Leopard MBP. Everything is up-to-date.On the iPhone I have:
[1] a xxx@gmail.com IMAP eMail address associated to my iTunes account.
[2] a xxx@there.it EXCHANGE eMail address set as default on my iPhone and on my MBP.
[3] a xxx@yahoo.it POP mail address.
[4] other service accounts.
In Mail.app I have all of the accounts I have on the iPhone.I enabled 'Notes syncing' in iTunes but the notes are synced with the third account xxx@yahoo.it. I do not understand the reason why they are not synced with the default or the iTunes mail accounts. Are notes synced only with POP accounts?
I did not find any hint on how I might solve this problem and have the notes synced with an eMail address I choose. Do I need POP accounts to sync notes? If I set up a second POP account, will I be able to select the account to sync the Notes with?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI jailbroke my 3.1.2 3GS via BlackRa1n last night. I saw this AM there is a new iTunes ver 9.0.3. Do the JB iPhone and the new iTunes play nice together? Just wanted to make sure before I upgraded iTunes.
So I lost my iphone sunday and am getting one from a friend tonight. My 3G was extremely customized with lockinfo and categories and categoriesSB, etc.If I jailbreak this new 3G, and restore from that backup, what exactly will happen if I have nothing installed?I know its best to start completely fresh after a JB, but I have some savedata I dont want to lose for the 2nd time.Would all my apps go back on the phone but in completely random places?Would my backup install mobilesubstrate addons without me doing it manually in Cydia?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my iphone seems to be stuck in a reboot loop it'll display the apply logo, then the apple and a loading circle and then it shuts off briefly and starts the entire loop again. It keeps doing it until the battery dies or until I shut it off. I've put the phone into DFU mode and restored three times and I still have the same issue?
View 10 Replies View RelatedYesterday I locked it during a meeting, and it froze shortly after I unlocked it a few hours later. None of the buttons would respond, so I decided to try the hard reset of holding the power and start buttons together for 10 seconds. It turned the phone off, but it will not reboot.
Instead, when the phone is plugged in or reset, I get the Apple logo, followed about 2-3 minutes later by the time circle which freezes as soon as it appears. The phone stays this way for 10 minutes or so, until it resets itself with a black screen, followed by a red bar battery symbol, and then the Apple logo followed by the frozen time circle.
I have tried all of the standard reset strategies (pressing both buttons, tethering while the computer reboots, holding the start button while it is plugged in, all with and without the sim installed) and nothing has gotten it beyond the loop.
The phone will go into DFU mode, but I am worried about a system restore as I am under the impression that even if it works, it will mess up my ability to re-Jailbreak it as it will upgrade the firmware to the latest version (which I have been scrupulously avoiding until now). Maybe at this point there is nothing to lose though.
I have an Apple store nearby, but I am reluctant to take it there due to the Jailbreak (although I don't know how they would know given the state that the phone is in). I would also hate to have them replace the phone with a replacement that has the new bootrom that can't be jailbroken (or have they now managed to jailbreak these too?).
So I needed to restore my iphone from a backup because when I tried syncing an app I got an error then everytime I connected my phone to itunes it was asking to either restore from backup or setup as new device and I restored from backup.Just wanted to know if my iphone is still jailbroken after restoring from a backup because I still have Cydia and the other stuff.
