i jailbroke my iphon 3gs and sedyia did not come with the jailbreak and when i go to the app store to download an app it asks me to create an account so should i create an account on a jailbroken iphone and should i download?

So I come home today to see four emails from PayPal from the four payments that have been made using my App Store account, totaling $449.95. I call Apple immediately and after being on hold for nearly 50 minutes with them trying to figure this out, I'm told my App Store account is going to be closed and that they cannot reverse the charges, so I need to file a dispute with my bank (or in my case, PayPal).
I called PayPal and they did not sound very confident in me getting my money back and said Apple should be the one reversing the charges. They guided me through filing a dispute on the charges and said that is the best they can do.
Am I screwed out of my money? Here is a screenshot of what the charges were made for (there is another $49.99 charge that is not showing up here, but appears in my PayPal account history):

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis may be a problem covered in a few places already, but I feel like I'm going crazy trying to find up to date answers to my questions, since it feels like the software is constantly changing. So I jailbroke a 3G 3.0 iphone that belonged to a friend. I had some battery problems so decided to update it to 3.1.2. So I downloaded the ipsw for this and the pwnage tool. I went through the steps and went into DFU mode, was prompted to go to itunes and restore with my costume ipsw. I did this, but can't use the 'shift-restore' trick to select the update. Now I'm stuck in recovery/DFU mode (not sure which) and can't even restore to 3.1.3 because I unlocked the phone and don't have the original sim. All I want is to get my phone back up and running on a 3.1.x OS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI sold my iPhone 3gs as "unlocked" on ebay since my iPhone 4 is coming tomorrow. Tonight I jailbroke it with spirit, then unlocked it with cydia/ultrasn0w. I was about to pack it up when I decided I should "Erase all content and settings" so that the buyer won't have any of my contact's info or anything.I put my phone in DFU mode and it won't restore. "This device isn't eligible for the requested build".I've tried everything. I went into Terminal and edited /etc/hosts to point to cydia instead of pointing to apple, but my gut tells me that its not working because the "Erase all content and settings" removed any traces of cydia.
I've never jailbroken anything before and have limited experience with this kind of stuff. I've downloaded all types of firmware versions (3.0, 3.01, 3.1.3) and nothing will take.The phone is just cycling over and over between the apple logo and a black screen. The phone needs an OS, apple knows I tried to jailbreak I guess and won't let me restore, and since I did an "erase all" I can't utilize any of the hacks to bypass apple's safeguard.I've run blackra1n to no avail as well. Nothing I do seems to reverse this awful mistake I've made.What do I do?

I just got my 32g iPhone 4 about 2 weeks ago. After jailbraking the phone, I noticed a couple of things.1st: when the iPhone reboots I noticed a little thin LCD light showing through. 2nd: I noticed after jailbraking, I could not sign on to Facebook using app sign on. 3rd: when restoring to factory setting prior to visiting genius bar, my phone got stuck and froze up on apple logo indefinitely.Lucky for me, the tec at apple was cool and exchange it for a brand new one. Warranty is void on any jailbroken iPhones. After all that trouble, I dont think I'll jailbrake this one it's not worth it.

It used to be easy, but now the account setup is some kind of automated process - optimized for Ovi Mail, Gmail and such services. My email account surname is not my email address (fist.surname@gmail.com type) but something like "fisurnam". The result is that I give my password in vain, no connection established.
What should I do to create the account? It is also not clear, am I giving my password to Nokia service or is it going directly to the email account provider. This is an important thing as my work email password may not be given to anyone, not even to Nokia.
I'm having trouble setting up a new email account. I am able to connect to the Internet using the browser, so it doesn't appear to be connectivity issue. Doing a Soft Reset and pulling the battery doesn't help.
