IPhone :: Siri Completely Ignoring Any And All Phonetic Names

I have some friends with unusual names. When I tell Siri to call one of them siri consistently returns what it thinks the name is. So i took what Siri returns and added it as the phonetic name of the individual. Siri still returns the same name and still doesn't recognize the contact. Example: I say Damian, Siri thinks it's Damien so I add Damien as the phonetic name of Damian. After I did that I say Damian, Siri says it can't find Damien!!! ***!!!! What is the point of having phonetic spelling if that's the case.
