IPhone :: Restoring Backed Up Information Onto New 4s?
Apr 8, 2012
My old iPhone 4s got stolen but was backed up by iTunes. I bought a new one today and when it asked me if I wanted to restore information from another iPhone onto my new one, I accidently restored my brothers iPhone onto mine rather than mine. I was wondering if there is a way to undo this restoration and go back so that I can restore all of my old information onto my new phone instead of his?
I took my phone into apple today as it was broken, I was still under warrenty so knew i would be given a new handset so ensured i backed all my pictures and contacts on itunes. I have got home and spent all night trying to put everything back onto my new phone, but my pictures and contacts don't seem to be there. Instead it added all the pictures off my laptop and not from my previous handset I'm not bothered about my contacts but there are some pictures that i would be really upset to lose of my nephew.
I lost my phone and needed to get a replacement. When I did, I started the activation process, but never got prompted to restore from iCloud, just from my last backup in iTunes. I've run the restoration, and the backup was pretty out of date. Is there a way to restore the backup I'd set up in iCloud at this point?
I recently sent my 9500 away for repair and as advised backed-up the pictures, contacts etc using the desktop manager. I got the BB back today but can't return the data to the phone. It has stored as an IPD file, which I can't open and I'm at a loss on how to proceed.
I've been a 9530 user since day one. Several days ago my 4th unit quit working and i decided to go with a Motorola Droid.I have all my contacts backed up with the blackberry desktop manager. I want to use this backup file to restore the contacts to my Droid. Can anyone help me?
To improve the security on my phone, I engaged the password feature. In trying to get back in my phone I must have entered the password incorrectly. When the maximum attempts had been used, the phone went through wiping and my phone was totally reset. My BBM listing and contact listing were all lost and even my BBM pin was changed. My phone was previously backed up on my computer but the computer is identifying my phone as a different divice. is there any way to get my computer to load my contact lists on the phone after it had been wiped in this way?
I have just got my Iphone back from the Vodafone insurance and I can not find where the contacts are backed up on my PC? I am running windows 7 and backed them up in March before I had to send the phone away to be fixed. It has taken a month to get it back, it has been a total nightmare and now I dont have any of my numbers. When I plugged the new iphone into my PC it auto synced and didnt upload all of the contacts so where are the rest of them?
I am signed in to iCloud but cannot locate anything other than: Mail. Contacts. Calendar. Find My iPhone. and iWork so where is everything else that is supposed to be backed up?According to the iCloud settings everything is ON.
I just upgraded from the iPhone 4 to 4s. I had backed up the old phone backed up to iCloud. How do I restore that data to my new iphone? Even though I had photostream on, it never synched.I installed iCloud for the pc and can see the backup up in the cloud.I just want to get all the data to the new phone.
I just bought a new MacBook and had originally synced my iPhone 4s to my old windows laptop. I connected it to the new Mac through usb and when I sync it at the top it says it backs up but when I look under the backup tab it says last backup was unknown and there's no date whereas my other computer has a date. How can I get this to come up?
I have many notes on my iPhone that fail to show up in iCloud. I'm trying to figure out how to move all of these and save them, because they are important. I'm running the latest version of iPhone (7.1.1) and Mac(10.9.3) software. My notes from this year are in iCloud, but I have notes going back to 2009 that aren't there. Shouldn't every note currently on my iPhone be available in iCloud, and therefore accessible via my MacBook Pro? I am specifically asking about not having all notes backed up. Recent notes are in iCloud, but older notes are not, although they are still on my iPhone.
Well it finally hit me at the worst time - I had to go to the genius bar for a repair and they did the 4.0 upgrade. I have blobs stored on saurik's server for everything through 3.1.3.
I tried a few things to downgrade to stock 3.1.3 and was finally able to do so after failure with recboot.
So now I have stock 3.1.3 and I have my custom 3.1.3 firmware made.
Going into DFU or recovery yields error 1604 - on two machines, one running iTunes 9.1 and one running 9.2. Tried with the hosts file redirecting to Saurik's server on 9.2 and to apple's server on 9.1 (haven't tried redirecting on the machine with 9.1 but I guess I'll try that next)
I am assuming the issue is the bootloader being updated - is that correct?
Is it possible to get back to jb 3.1.3 so I can roll up to 4 with pwnage 4.0 then unlock (not necessary since I am an ATT customer, but preferred)?
I plug in my phone every night and it is connected to WiFi. Sometimes it backs up in the middle of the night but more often it seems to back up in the morning when I "wake" it up while leaving it plugged in. When I get up in the am I, leaving it plugged in, check for messages, news etc.Later in the day when I check when the last time it did an iCloud backup - it seems to be after I did that early morning check but before I unplug it for the day - usually 10 minutes in between. It also seems to not want to do a backup in less than 24 hours - which I can understand. So - on Sundays it may back up at 7:00 am, for instance, but then doesn't back up on Monday am since I'm up and out of the house before 7. Some days it does back up in the middle of the night but I can't figure out why. I can always do the "backup now" option but just wondering if anyone knows how it schedules and is there a way to influence that?
I recently got a replacement iphone and backed up all my contacts on icloud to the phone. I had over 200 contacts saved. This morning I had all of my contacts, now they are gone. My phone was in my locker the entire day, I did not touch any settings. Now my contacts are gone! I even went to icloud on the internet and they aren't there any more!
I backed up my iphone 4s with my itouch because I wasn't aware that it would delete all the stuff on my phone. Is there any way to get those things back.
