IPhone :: Portrait Photos Rotated When Emailed In Ios4
Jun 24, 2010
Has anyone else noticed that when you email a photo that is oriented as portrait, it appears as landscape in the email? For some reason, ios4 automatically positions photos to be viewed as landscape. When the email is checked on the phone, the orientation is correct. But when the email is viewed on a computer, it appears sideways.I've searched forums for the past hour or so and only found this mentioned in 1 other place.
I have discovered that all of the pictures that I take in portrait orientation once emailed to someone they are switched to landscape. The pictures can not be rotated back to the proper orientation with out opening Paint program and rotating them manually. I take hundreds and thousands of pics of my life (kids, vacations etc..) and do not want to have to manipulate them later on once moved to my computer. If you lower the picture quality to 6mp it fixes the problem, also if you shoot the pic in HDR mode. I should not have to do this to make it work. Fail.
I was wondering if anyone else is getting this bug. My iPhone gets into a state where in the Photos app, I am unable to change the screen orientation to landscape. This is only in the Photos app - Safari continues to work just fine on this front.
The only way I have found to resolve the issue is the restart the phone, and then it works again.
This is not the first bug I've found in Photos in iOS4/iPhone 4 the library can be slow to update, sometimes requiring me to close and reopen the app.
I like having my screen locked in Portrait mode. If I view a landscape photo I want it displayed in landscape and let me rotate the phone, don't displace the landscape photo a s a portrait. I want to maximize the screen usage..
I noticed that all of my imported photos in the Photo Library and Albums are blurry or overly compressed. The Camera Roll photos are fine. But even the same camera roll photos that show up in the Photo Library are overly compressed or blurry. The were fine before iOS4 and this is on my 3GS.
I am not sure this is the right place to ask on GM iOS4, I would like to upgrade Gold Master iOS4 to mine 3GS right now and when it released the official firmware for public on 21st June, would I have any problem to upgrade from GM version?
Was just wondering what the best way to upgrade from the iOS4 GM to the official iOS4 release. Would I be better off doing a backup of my iOS4, restoring my iPhone to iPhone OS 3 and then going back to the official iOS4 or do you think we will be able to straight from the GM to the official version of iOS 4. Or is the iOS4 GM identical to the official iOS 4 release?
Will iTunes know that the official release is newer than the gold master release? I assume its not out yet as iTunes keeps saying "4.0 is the latest release" So what will happen when its out?
For some reason, as of yesterday, when I email a photo the recipient gets it rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. To my knowledge, I haven't made any changes to my iphone.
i've tried everything. changing filetypes and making new maps to put the pictures in but it won't work.. i even deleted itunes and downloaded it again. it's really disturbing not to be able to rotate pictures!
Normally when someone sends me a message with a short video attached to it, I could play in on my iPhone 5.(iOS 7.1.2) Now when I start to play one, I get the play arrow icon with a line across it, which signifies that it's not going to play the video.
How can I save a video attachment to my camera roll in iPhone 4? (Have not downloaded newest update 5.1.1 yet.) When I press and hold down on the video I get 3 options: Quick Look, Open in "Polkast", and Open In. None of these options allow me to save the video to my camera roll.
Is there an app or way to have all my Home screens rotate to landscape mode, as well as key apps like the dialer? I use the nav system in the car if calls come in, or if I want to lauch a traffic app, the screens, menus and dialer are all portrait/vertical. I've tried Open Home as a home screen replacement but felt it slowed down my DroidX and I don't really want to have to go through all the shortcut customization again. I tried the Car dock but can't globally add all the apps and some of the alternate car replacement apps seem to require a physical dock, which I don't use, and require adding in the apps I want to use.
My s6 won't fully download emails with pdf file att. I've hit the load more button but when you try to open it comes up with warning email must be fully downloaded before att can be read .the emails can be read from my pc? ?
When I try and upload a picture to FB or when I try and email a picture it is all pixeled. The picture is fine on the phone and can be BBMd without any distortion but is very poor quality when emailed or uploaded.
I'm coming from an iphone and wanted to know when someone emails me a video, is there a way to watch it without having to download to the SD Card? Also if it does have to be downloaded to the SD card, where in the world do you access it?
How can I save them to my phone? When I download them, I think they launch in the Gallery app. However when I go back to the Gallery app, the pictures are gone.
Someonetold me to long press on the picture to save. However the icons just flash for a milli-second then disappear.
Just purchased an iPhone 4 and it is locked in portrait mode. The lock on the multitasking screen in NOT set and I have restarted it after closing out all apps.
Had my iPhone 4s since Black Friday. noticed quite a while ago that no app will rotate from portret to landscape. Pictures don't do either. is there a setting that controls this or did a get a defective unit and don't know it?
