Apr 8, 2010I haven't seen much anymore in the forums about being able to set your own tone for a received message; am I the only one wishing that Apple would add this?

There are classes of SMS alerting that I am getting, and being able to change the tone according to family/friends, spam (yes, spam) and automated alerting would help filter (audibly) who is originating the message.

Sep 20, 2015I have gotten my custom mp3 files assigned to different contacts but the default notification sound overrides them so they all sound the same. I know there has to be a way to have each contact have a different tone because it was added as far back as s3 which I also currently still own as well and would like to have my contacts all have different tones so I know who's texting me.

Jun 17, 2010Is this a feature? It's one of the biggest reasons I jailbroke my iPhone. Might seem dumb to some, but I really like personalizing my ringtones/sms tones. I've been doing it since I first got a cell phone like 10 years ago - seems like such a standard feature, it's annoying I have to JB to get it.Everyone in the world has the tri-tone sms sound.

I did everything that everyone said, made the thing through ituens, under 40 seconds changed it to a m4r file put it in my tunes tab in itunes, and tabs tunes is checked to sync along with everything else but when i sync it my ringtones aren't anywhere please help!!! i need to put ringtones on my phone! I even unchecked the tunes synced my iphone again then checked the tunes tab again and still nothing?

Mar 18, 2010I loaded some custom tones into my iphone via SSH, and 3 of them will not work. The files are fine, I checked. They have the right names and everything. But they don't play on the phone. I deleted the original files before overwriting, if that helps clarify things. I have been trying to figure this out all afternoon and I am about ready to sell the iphone and get a Nokia or something.
