i have been trying to sync my ringtones to my iphone 3gs. i bought them on my 3gs from itunes quite abit ago and when i updated my software they obviously was taken off. and they are on itunes, they show up in the tones part but when i click on sync button on my iphone they dont sync...they say they have but when i go on my phone they are NOT there!

I have a 4S but it sounds to me like it doesn't matter since this problem is happening to everyone and yet no one is helping us out. My text tone has been added into iTunes and syncing shows that it is on my phone but it is no where on my phone to be found!

I've been doing it since I first got a cell phone like 10 years ago - seems like such a standard feature, it's annoying I have to JB to get it.Everyone in the world has the tri-tone sms sound.

I loaded some custom tones into my iphone via SSH, and 3 of them will not work. The files are fine, I checked. They have the right names and everything. But they don't play on the phone. I deleted the original files before overwriting, if that helps clarify things. I was syncing my phone today, and I realized that my music was taking up way more space than I thought it should. That's when I noticed there was way more music on my phone than I had synced to it. Â
In iTunes, I unchecked the music and tones tabs for syncing, and the bar shrunk down, but not completely. There are 20 songs taking up almost a gigabyte worth of space sitting somewhere on my phone. They're not voice memos because I don't have any of those, and I don't have any other music downloading apps or anything like that on my phone. I can't figure out where these songs that are taking up so much space could be coming from.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI remember before the 3gs came out the only way to get custom sms tones is to make it the same name as an original sms tone but they had to be short because you cant stop them no matter what buttons you press.my question today is has anyone found a way to make longer sms tones that can be longer than a couple seconds...i guess im just used to hearing my favorite songs play when i get a text so if there is away please feel free to let me know.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout 4 weeks ago I purchased three .99cent alert tones (R2D2: Happy, Chewbacca: Roar, and Lightsaber: Power Up). However once I synced my 4s with my macbook the tones vanished from the phone, and no matter what I do (resets, de-selecting sync tones then reselecting it, manually dragging it over to the phone) these 3 tones will not get onto the phone. All of my $1.29 tones still work however.I re-purchased them (hey Apple - how about not making people pay multiple times for tones), and again, the tones worked until my Iphone synced with my macbook, then the same vanishing act occured.
