IPhone 5 :: How To Disable Handsfree Button From Turning Music On

Jun 30, 2014

Pressing a handsfree button once in idle/stand-by mode starts playing music. Can that be disabled?Â

I'm heavy voice and data user on my iPhone 5 however I rarely listen to music. My handsfree is plugged-in almost all the time (for convenience as I strongly prefer to use HF for voice calls).Â

Any time I accidentally press the HF button (and it happens a lot, e.g. laying the phone down on the table accidentally pressing the button by the phone itself) the bloody device starts playing music (or whatever media is stored in). This is very annoying: if nothing else it further drains the battery that anyhow barely makes it through the day (sometimes half day - I really am heavy user). But most important: when listening to anything it is usually an audio book. When the "automated" "audio-on" feature is activated it usually goes unnoticed until some time hence the story moves on without me listening - and going back looking for the spot to continue playing from is very very frustrating activity particularly since it is repeated practically every time I sit down to listen to it.Â

Going through different forums I found some solutions which however require a jail-brake - something I want to avoid if possible,Â

The best solution would allow to define a custom action ("null action" in this particular case) based on the status: I like to use the HF button during the call or even for skipping or reversing songs when eventually really deliberately listening to music (very seldom) hence only "idle / stand-by" action assigned to the HF button would be null - the rest should stay intact.Â

IPhone :: A2DP Audio Drop-outs Since Ios5.1.1?

Jun 4, 2012

I have Sennheiser MM400 Bluetooth headphones and a Bose SoundLink Bluetooth mobile speaker. Both of these worked well with my iPhone 4 (before 5.1.1) with good range and only the occasional dropout when the phone was moved. However since 5.1.1, there has been a massive reduction in the stability of A2DP audio streaming. With the SoudLink the range has reduced massively to a few feet (6 max) with line of sight and the audio drops out if anyone passes between the phone and the speaker. With the MM400 Headphones the situation is even worse. Even with the phone in my breast pocket and only few inches from the headphones, the audio drops out every few seconds. Just placing my arm between the iphone and the headphone causes the audio to drop out completely. As I said before, this did not happen before 5.1.1 and as this problem effects both the Bose and the Sennheisers, it must be something that Apple changed in the latest update. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Until Apple fix this, the AD2P audio streaming feature is useless. Making my AD2P devices so much useless and expensive junk.

HTC :: G1 Bluetooth Audio Without A2DP?

Jul 21, 2010

I've seen hundreds of topics about this, but they're all very old and possibly irrelevent given the state of the android platform. My G1 is running Cyanogenmod 5.0.8 with firerat's AnySPL patch. I bought a bluetooth headset(Wireless Blue) hoping to listen to music and play videogames with it, but then I tried it and it wouldn't give the desired results. After a little research, I found out about A2DP. I'm aware that this mono bluetooth headset does not support A2DP. Is there any way to get audio output to my bluetooth headset without A2DP?

Cseries :: Nokia C3-01 Bluetooth A2DP Profile?

Mar 16, 2011

Just got my C3-01 last week and I love it. However, when I pair with my Parrot MK6000 car-kit, the audio quality is of low quality. I can hear music/phone calls just fine, but the quality is something akin to a 64kbps mp3 as opposed to a 192kbps mp3.My E71, N900, and E73 all work beautifully with the carkit, but I understand that my carkit is Bluetooth v1.2 as opposed to v2.1 supported by the C3-01. vouch for the C3-01 supporting the Bluetooth A2DP profile and getting high quality stereo sound from it? If not, perhaps this a bug in the new S40 Touch and Type Bluetooth stack.

Nokia Accessories :: Car Kit Automatic A2DP Connection?

Dec 10, 2010

With my N95 and N97, as soon as I turn on my car (equipped with Nokia CK-100), I automatically get connected to BT HFP and A2DP profiles. The car kit will tell me, "Phone connected." A second later, "Player connected." With the N8, the car kit will only connect to just the phone automatically. For the player to connect while the car is on, I have to open up the music player and play a song, which will then force N8 to make the A2DP connection. So when that happens, you hear a 1.5 second message saying, "Player connected" followed by music that is already 2 to 3 seconds into the song. I thought it was perhaps the Car Kit getting full with the list of paired devices (memory is for 8 pairings), but clearing the list doesn't help. I thought it was the Car Kit firmware, so I upgraded it to 4.401, no luck. Then when I paired my old N97 and N95, both HFP and A2DP connections were made automatically when I boot up my car as expected! But not the N8.

Galaxy S6 :: Bluetooth A2DP Stopped Working

Dec 30, 2015

The a2dp stopped working on my S6. (G920F 5.1.1 unrooted) I can pair with devices (Speakers, etc) but if I go to their individual settings, the "Media Audio" is disabled. I can still connect to my car stereo and use the phone (the car stereo doesn't support a2dp).

I have done a factory reset 3 times, and the a2dp starts working again every time but after a while it stops. I have been careful in trying to identify what app triggers the a2dp to stop working but it doesn't seem to be related to installed apps.

Is there a way to configure the iPhone while it is paired with my car and still hear incoming notifications from the phone itself or through the car's speakers?

Motorola Droid :: Bionic Cannot Reconnect To Bluetooth A2DP Profile In Car

Sep 12, 2011

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with Micorsoft Sync. I had a Droid X and upgraded to the Bionic. When getting in the car, the DX always auto-connected to the phone (headset) profile and also to the A2DP profile, although sometimes the Sync screen displayed a "Connection failed" message before it always actually did connect. Previously my BB Storm 2 had no problems connecting.

When I turn the car on, the Bionic connects fine to the headset profile but fails to auto-connect to the A2DP profile. I get the same "Connection failed" message as with the DX but it doesn't subsequently connect and I have to connect it manually. This is very troubling to me as I almost exclusively use A2DP for listening to music and podcasts in my car.[url]...

Jul 3, 2012

This used to work fine. She can make a call by dialing a number on the cars touch screen, but the call only comes through on the phone.

If I connect my 3GS to the car then it works perfectly - sound comes through the speakers and the microphone in the car is active.

What did she do to turn this off and how can we turn it back on again?

We have tried:

- Unpairing and re-pairing the phone

- Telling the iPhone to forget this device

- Turing off Siri

IPhone :: Part Of The IP Powers The Screen ?

Aug 1, 2010

I dropped my iPhone, cracked the screen and LCD, replaced both, as well as the inner plastic bezel holding them together. Now, the LCD doesnt turn on and the touch screen will not respond. The backlight wont even turn on .It is still on, responds when I plug it into USB, it still vibrates and has its files and will be picked up by iTunes, but the screen is black with no display, no backlight and as far as I can tell the touchscreen is not working.And the kicker is that it was working for a few seconds, when I first put everything together, I just took it apart to get the home button to be seated properly, and bam, all of a sudden everything stops working.Frustrating indeed ! Would anyone be able to help me out please ? I am sick that it seems I will have to buy another part, but, if it will fix it then it's worth it !

IPhone :: 2G - Bottom Part Of Touchscreen Is Not Responding

Jan 6, 2010

My iphone 2g fell out of my pocket last night while I was washing hands into the wash bowl and although I wiped it dry immediately, there was some issue after a while. I didn't realise it could cause some issues. But when I received a call, the touch screen didn't function at all and I was unable to answer the call.

After spending sleepless night yesterday to fix this issue, nothing seemed to work. I rebooted, restarted, restored to factory setting, many times, nothing is working. This is a 2g phone with 3.1.2 firmware, jail broken with blackrain. But I still receive the call and the iphone is not completely dead yet. I was able to restore it back. But the "Slide to Unlock" is not functioning, In other words the bottom part of the touchscreen is not responding. But the upper part of the touch screen works, where I can power off.

I almost gave up. Any one having any suggestions. This is very frustrating. I put the iphone in a rice bag, hoping it will take away the moisture, but that didn't work either. I also tried using the hair dryer to remove the mositure, but no success either.

IPhone :: Cannot Finish Setting Up IOS 5 - Part Of Touchscreen Does Not Work

Apr 19, 2012

I have an iPhone 3GS that I updated on iTunes yesterday and upgraded to the new IOS 5. When I started going through the Set Up process on the phone itself, it asks me to enter my Apple ID so I can set up iCloud, App Store, etc, on my phone. But the bottom portion of my touchscreen doesn't work. So I can not type in my Apple email address, I can not switch the keyboard to numbers, since that bottom part of the screen doesn't work. I tried turning it sideways, but it stays vertical. So I can't even touch "Skip this step", since it's on the bottom part of the screen also. Now I can not send or receive calls or even use my phone! Is there any way to bypass this setup on my phone? Or set it up on my computer instead of the phone? I can't believe it won't even let me receive calls - do I really need to set up iCloud to receive phone calls?
