IPhone :: How Can I Retrieve Cell ID, Location Area Code (LAC) And RSSI In IOS To Use De Data In A App?
Mar 19, 2012
Location Area Code (LAC) and RSSI in IOS to use de data in a App?We are developing testing tools for mobile network operation, IOS applications can do performance analysis but we need to identify the exact mobile cell that is providing the service.
Android has very powerfull APIs for this, but we cannot find similar solutions por IOS.
I have an iPhone 3GS, purchased in March of this year. It's worked great except one thing: twice so far my phone has been displaying full bars and EDGE while my mom's iPhone 3GS displays full bars and 3G. When this happens, I can make phone calls and send text messages, but I can't get on Safari or anything else that uses data. The first time this happened (about a month and a half ago), I just turned off my phone, removed the SIM card and put it back in, and let it sit, turned off, for about an hour. Then when I turned it back on, it was fine. This time, I have tried that to no effect. It's not simply that I have bad coverage where I'm at or no 3G because my mom's phone works fine. I recently updated to 4.0.1, if that makes any difference (my mom has not).Is there any fix for this I can try myself? Or should I take my phone into AT&T and let them deal with it?
I dropped my bold in the ocean today, it was washed around by the waves a bit lol. My sim and mem card are working fine in a bb pearl. The bold is drying out in a tub of rice. I desperately need to access the emails on my bold that I had sent and received and we're in my inbox. I was hoping they would appear when setting up my pearl but only new emails have arrived. Can anyone help me? The documents I need are to and from my lawyer and as much as I know how stupid I am not to have them backed up, I have a lot riding on their content.
Since the update, whenever I try to manually dial a 7-digit phone number, the phone is automatically prefixing a 617 area code to the number its dialing.
I have received a few phone calls within the past couple years where my called ID shows only "716" rather than the full number "716-xxx-xxxx". These calls were from mostly cell phones.
Is there away I can toggle this on... On my phone? Droid Turbo 1.
I don't need it all the time but it would be useful when making working calls when on the road so that they don't have my personal cell # and nobody ever answers " unknown" so *67 isnt the key.
I also am not really interested in spoofing my number with a fake one or creating a Google voice (or similar account) and then having two phone #'s to worry about.
tell me if I can have the telephone area code visible on the main screen on a Nokia Asha 300.Previous Nokia's I have owned have allowed me to do this but I can't seem to find If I can or how to do it on this one.
I have a problem when replying to text messages. Even thought I have the area code entered in the contact the message comes back that it can't be sent and shows no area code. I don't want to have to reset to factory settings.
Why don't we have wifi, data, bluetooth, and airplane mode or internet tethring toggles on notifications area? This will avoid jailbreaking our devices. Don't you think it will be verey useful ?
I have never set up a passcode on my iphone 4S but when I try to reset my phone it is asking for a 4 digit passcode. Is there a generic code? Or how do I retrieve an existing/forgotten passcode?
I don't like how my only way of finding help from apple is talking to a bunch of random ppl just like me. The area called "other" on my phones' memory (on the device summary in iTunes) keeps getting larger. what is in this area and how do I erase it?
I am using a Verizon BB 8330 (refurbished) with Appalachian Wireless. My data plan does not work with BIS or BES.App. Wire. shoots me the service books, but says that Verizon has some sort of lock in my phone that won't allow my phone to work online. I contacted verizon and they said they do not use locks on phones. I use opera mini 4.2 to access internet.I can not download any apps ota because I always get the message from blackberry that no browser has been configured.I can not download any apps with DM using an ota downloader because I can not find the 'URL to .jad' files. My phone works great almost any where I go, but my opera internet only works in my home area. Are there any tweaks or hacking methods that I can use to get Bis to accept my data plan?Or just to get opera to work in a roaming area?
My iPhone 4 died. Completely dead, for no apparent reason. I've ordered a replacement, but does anyone know if I can retrieve my data from it (photos, etc.) to transfer to my new phone?
first off, something strange happened Nov 20, 2011 because that is the day my voicemail stopped working. ATT and APPLE could not figure out how to solve the problem - so I just had no voicemail until yesterday.
My iphone 4s' volume button broke, so I took it into the APPLE store to get a new phone. I backed up before I took the phone in, because I was pretty sure they would replace my phone - which they did
When I restored the phone to the 'most recent' back up, I lost ALL the data on my phone after Nov 20, 2011. All my texts, all the data about my baby that I have been keeping in a baby app - basically any app info. Even my camera roll reverted back to the way it was on Nov 20. (fortunately I had saved my pics to iphoto - so nothing really lost there)
I don't understand where all the info went when I backed up RIGHT before I went to the apple store.
I have looked on my computer and found the back up file, but I don't know what to do with the info in there. Oddly, I can't find a back up for 4/2/12 - the day I did the back up, but there are several back ups in March.. which would be better than the NOV back up.
All of my data was deleted after i updated my os to os5.1.1. from then on I didnt restore it again. Today, I accidentally restored my iphone and all of my recent photos were deleted. how can I retrieve it again?
I got my old stuff from my old iphone transfered to my iphone 4, but the thing is the person who did said tranferring did not warn me that my data in my iphone 4 will be completely overwritten. Now all my iphone 4 data is gone and has been replace by old stuff from my old iphone. Is there any way i can get my overwritten iphone4 stuff back?
In the camera roll, you can go to location and it will show where you've been based on the pictures you've taken. Obviously, if you remove the pictures these locations disappear. If I remove them, can I later sync them back to my phone and have the location data show up again? If so, how? If not, is there any other way for me to find similar data on my phone without the photos? Like it shows where I've been based off of cellular location or something? It might sound strange but I'd like to have a visual representation (on map view, as it is in camera roll) of where I've been, but I simply don't have the room to be storing all these photos!
My previous iPhone 4S was stolen so after filling out insurance claims I received a new one today and did all the shenannigans about setting it up with a new SIM and what not. Although, now after backing it up from iCloud, I can't access my music ? and also it's constantly asking for my apple ID but when it does in the email box is my brothers email account and not mine.
Would like to know how i can retrieve all my data from my iphone to my new purchased laptop. I have synced my phone but i have no data still. It keeps advising me that i have another account open. My previous laptop was damaged hence the new purchase.
Geotagged iPhone Images lose exif location data when emailed or IM'ed to an email address. I would like to have the option of sending this data (even if not by default) to the recipient. This feature seems to work on android and I am receiving this data in my inbox from an Android phone. The last thing I want to tell my customers is that the system I am building for them is only compatible with the Android because of this bug.
I have a SE Naite which I must say is awesome. Yesterday the phone switched off due to low battery. But when I tried switching it on it is asking for a code. Since its been long I have forgotten it. Is there anyway to retrieve it or reset it? I tried using the XS++(v3.1) tool but it seems that its not able to retrieve any info from phone.
I don't have an unlimited data plan, so when I use my phone while traveling, every time I look on Google maps- or any other location-based app for that matter- it's using up my data plan and costing me money. I think it's stupid that Apple has tied the built-in gps inextricably to the data service- they could at least let the gps operate in a reduced capacity when data is unavailable. What is one supposed to do if one lives in or travels to a location with limited data network availability? At any rate, this is the world we live in, so my question is this: if I get an external gps receiver, and turn off my data service, will my phone be able to extract and use my location from the device?
I know there are other software that may help to retrive the data but it doesn't work with encrypted backup. Now i have the password, i have the encrypted backup (failed to recover in itunes). What can i do? is it possible to remove the password from the encrypted backup provided that i have the password?
