IPhone :: How Accurate Is The Date Stamp On The Photos
Apr 11, 2012
Wanted to know how accurate the date stamp on a picture taken on the IPhone. Meaning does it know exactly when the picture was taken and it that an exact match when it comes up in ITune or is it the date that it was downloaded to ITunes.

I had the Storm and along with the automatic date and time stamp, I used to be able to name a picture I took . It's disappointing that I can't do this with an iPhone. It's a very convenient feature for my job. Are there plans to add this feature? Are there any apps that will do this. It's frustrating to have this great phone and not be able to do something so simple and convenient.

why the dates and times I see on text messages are stamped with current time (i.e. time that message is downloaded/read) rather than the time actually sent....? Can't see the point in this.

The date in the battery area is 26210 or something like that. According to other threads after the 2e2nd of February the screen should have been the new hardware. My Storm still has the depressed upper left corner and a workout of a screen press; I don't understand this. I'm replacing my last storm (which did have the new screen) because of service randomly completely dropping to zero bars until I dropped the call I was on, then going back to full service. So, I guess my question is why do I have a new date stamp with old hardware (even had the green dot on the box).

I needed to show the date stamp on some pics I shot on my RMHD running JB. I know the date info is included in the EXIF metadata I was surprised that I could not find a way to enable this to show this on the actual pic. I checked the Play Store and found nothing.
Since I had already downloaded my pics onto my Win 7 laptop, I figured some Win app would allow the date to be displayed on the pics. Wrong! Finally after googling, I found a Win app that would add the date stamp to my pics.
Presuming this feature does not currently exist on JB or the Gallery app, I think having the ability to optionally add the date stamp to pics would be useful. The option needs to be user selectable so that pics can be shown without the date stamp or with the date stamp.
I have attached a pic without the date stamp and with the date stamp (using the Win 7 app to overlay the date).

I have an Sony Ericsson Elm phone. I use the camera a lot, and I miss the date+time stamp on the pictures. I have searched the menu, and the user manual. Could anyone tell me either of this two: Is it not possible to get a date+time stamp on the pictures? If it is possible, how do I do it?

I noticed the geo-location tag for my photos are quite a bit off from where my actual location is. Even though the pin is properly positioned on the actual location, the street name and house number are quite a bit off. Did they do this on purpose? The actual street that shows up on the detailed information for the picture is about 2 blocks from my house.

Before I did importing (from iPhone to computer), everything was fine - all photos/videos were right there on my iPhone. I simply used "cut" - "paste" from Windows File Explorer, and then I found that all the photos and videos after certain date were all gone. They are not in the iPhone, neither in my computer. Luckily all the recent photos are automatically kept in "Photo Stream", so I managed to save them all to the "Camera Roll" and then I could still import them to the computer. However "Photo Stream" does not save the videos, so now looks like I lost those precious videos forever!!  There is another weird thing: after importing, some video files still remained on my iPhone which are unplayable, and the notification said "the requested URL was not found on this server". To ensure I don't lose anything, I still moved them to the computer. And the result is predictable: those video files cannot be played on the computer either, regardless by which player I am trying. I think I am not the only one here. I see another post iPhone 5 some photos and videos disappeared from a particular photo onwards and three videos left are not able to be played and are saved as 0:00 files but I cannot reply.

Quick question regarding the 'Gallery' App. Is there a way to sort the photos by date taken? Currently everything is all muddled up, seems to be in no order at all.

My camera died and I heard the Droid Turbo had a great camera so I killed two birds with one stone. I purchased a new phone and got a great camera at the same time. Now the problem. I must have date taken on my photos. I don't print photos, I send them to other people. How can I get date taken on my photos?

So, when using most camera apps, the EXIF data (specifically Date Taken) is not filled in for any picture taken with this phone. Is there a way to enable this field? I have tried at least 4 different apps and was hoping the ICS upgrade would do it, but no love. What is up with this major failure?
With all the digital media in my life, I have automated a lot of processes to organize and make things consistent, so when I find something that makes the job harder, I really loathe it.

Basically I had a previous iPhone 4. The GPS on it was really accurate and always managed to pinpoint my location to within 5 metres. It was also extremely responsive and would update my position the moment I started moving. However it had a dot on the screen so I had it exchanged. On my new iPhone 4 the tracking is still accurate, but just not as good as before. It often shows me quite a bit further away than I really am. On top of that, my position will keep moving even when I'm standing perfectly still, whereas my previous iPhone 4 would just stay locked on to me completely. Furthermore it has a lag issue. Whenever I start moving, it takes about 10 - 15 seconds before it starts updating my position again. Whenever I stop, it takes awhile for it to realize that I have stopped moving as well, and my position on screen will fly further ahead than my actual position. After that it will slowly move back towards me and start jumping a bit again.
Lastly, whenever my previous iPhone 4 managed to lock onto a GPS signal, it would pretty much almost have no blue-circle unless I zoomed in really close. However with my newer iPhone 4, it constantly appears and disappears again. Does anyone know why this is happening? Any solutions? Should I get it changed, again?

But Ive just started using an app to track my bike rides. I just start the app, throw my phone in my bag and forget about it till I get home. I've been turning off 3g as the gps alone is a battery hog, however does the 3g signal aid the gps using triangulation or something?

Have had my 3G for almost 2 years now and it seems the GPS is not as accurate as it once was. I find that many times when driving, the blue dot in google maps will be up to 3-4 streets off. My girl friend's GPS on her 3G is even worse. Her's will sometimes take up to 45 seconds longer than mine to zero in on our location. Fresh OS install doesn't appear to make a difference. I feel like the GPS wasn't this bad when I first bought the phone.Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Please state your phone provider and what app your are using to determine your current location. For me IP4, O2, Google maps, I'm about 1.5 miles away from myself in London.Personally I think it makes a mockery of the find my iPhone/iPad app.I guess with a TomTom app it's using satellites so would be more accurate?

I have one of the original iPhones. It has been working great, despite having taken a dip in the toilet. However, for the past week, randomly, it will display the wrong time. For instance, right now, it's 12:19 pm. My phone says 11:42 am. It's always pretty close to the actual time, so it's not a time zone issue. It is sometimes right, too. It's not a big deal, of course, but I was used to relying on my iPhone for an accurate time unlike my watch, which has a battery that can die without me knowing it. I use it as an alarm clock, but I've learned not to trust the time when I wake up.
Just wondering what the heck is going on with it? Anyone have a similar experience? I've noticed other odd things, like voice mails not showing up for a good amount of time after the phone call is received, text messages seeming to be delayed, and difficulty finding wifi connections.
