Jul 2, 2012iTunes goes through the whole synch process step-by-step including saying it's determining tracks to add etc etc but then it doesn't update the music and often doesn't update the app's. I may have to try synching 2, 3 or 4 times before it will actually applies the changes.
The annoying thing is it will say it's synched & the synch is complete but it isn't and hasn't. I don't receive any alerts saying that the synch coudn't be completed etc.
Presently have around 21Gb free so it's not a space issue. iPhone is latest iOS update & iTunes is likewise.

Jun 14, 2012I'm a newbie to iPhones and have just got a 4S. I use Outlook 2007 [not Exchange] as email client along with Contacts/Notes etc.I have previously used Nokia PC to synch specific Outlook contacts and mail folders with Nokia E75 [i.e. just the ones that are relevant] because there are too many folders and other extraneous stuff that will just fill up the iPhone needlessly. Also extremely time consuming and resource hungry to do it all the time. PST is currently about 2.5Gb How do I select just specific folders from Outlook to synch with iTunes/iPhones? The other option would appear to be to use Google/GMail, which seems obtuse when iTunes is already on the computer. it just seems to be a pretty blunt object for a device with such finesse.I am also trying to find out how to make good use of the Blutooth and/or Wifi connection. which is easier/better/faster or is the USB cable the best, fastest and most reliable option?

Apr 21, 2012I have a MacBook Pro (version 10.5.8). I recently installed a new hard drive, battery, and had the Genius Bar reinstall my OS X. Now, iTunes and iPhoto don't recognize my iPhone 4 (version 5.1) when it's attached through the USB port. It simply doesn't show up in the left column of either program. Before the hard drive, battery and reinstall of OS X, I never had this problem.
I have tried restarting my phone and my computer, and looking for my iPhone in Image Capture, and none of these actions have worked.

Apr 24, 2012I am a lifelong apple user. I am running the latest IOS software on iTunes and my MacBook uses OS X 10.7.3. All of the software is up to date. I was originally upset because iPhoto and Image Capture would not detect my iPhone 4 but I got over it. Now iTunes won't detect the phone and that is not ok. I searched the forums but I didn't find anything that has resolved the issue. I cannot delete iTunes and reinstall because my computer tells me it is "required by OS X". Therefore, searching finder and deleting then re installing will not work.

May 14, 2012I'm on a older MacBook pro running iTunes version 9.2.1. When I plug my iPhone 4s into my comp iPhoto recognizes it and I can transfer photos but iTunes doesn't see my phone at all... Tried following apples suggestions, restart phone and iTunes, reset iPhone, check USB connections... Nothing has worked yet.

May 9, 2012I've just installed iOS 5.1.1, discovered that not all photos that I checked in iTunes had been synchronized to my iPhone, noted that Other was taking up lots of space, restored the iPhone from a backup, discovered that it still did not subsequently sync all requested photos, selected to sync no photos and delete those on the iPhone, and am in the process of once again syncing the photos that I selected.
Now I notice that I selected 25,287 photos, but iTunes is reporting "Copying photo ... of 13,320". Why just 13,320? I elected to erase all the photos on the iPhone, so I would expect that iTunes would have to copy all 25,287!
Maybe Apple would be wise to invest some cash in software quality control. iOS 5 and iPhoto '11 are seriously flawed.

Apr 27, 2010My iPhone 3G is being recognised perfectly happily by iTunes, but absolutely nothing else. It doesn't appear in Finder and doesn't open iPhoto when I plug it in, so I can back up my photos.
I've tried restarting both the Mac (which is running Snow Leopard) and the iPhone. I've tried several cables. The result is always the same. iTunes spots the iPhone (it did use to automatically open iTunes, but I stopped that) and nothing else. No icon on the desktop, no appearance in Finder and won't show in any searches I do.
How can I fix this, and start backing up photos again?

Mar 27, 2012My iTunes music lives on an external hard drive. The iTunes program, of course, lives on the computer. When I am trying to synch Contacts and only Contacts, does the ext HD have to be connected or does the Contacts data live on the computer? I do not store anything in the cloud.

It was working fine and then I loaded too much audio content and ran out of memory so I think it could not synch properly without memory available. I've since deleted all my audio and have plenty of space yet new contacts in Address Book do not show up on my iPhone even though the synch process appears to complete.

Mar 1, 2010I just purchased the Samsung r330 (through PC Mobile) to replace my dead Nokia 2855i. (PC Mobile no longer offers Nokia;s). The unknown was my contacts, how to get them from one to the other. I was not able to find a direct way to transfer but fortunately the contacts were backed up to my PC (running Windows XP). The process is relatively simple through bluetooth - if your contacts are in Microsoft Outlook. Step 1 - pair the phone and the computer.
Step 2 - Open Outlook - Contacts/ Highlight the contacts you want to transfer.
Step 3 - In Outlook go to File, Send to Bluetooth.I was able to transfer multiple entries at the same time.

Dec 2, 2014I just switched from the default Samsung calendar app to the Google Calendar app. Events from my primary Google calendar, "Personal", appear on the Google Calendar app on my S5, but the calendar itself doesn't appear as an option when creating new events or in the Settings page. As a result, I can see all of my events that I enter via my PC browser (correctly under the label "Personal"), but I cannot add new events from my phone to that specific calendar. My other, less frequently used Gmail calendars (Birthdays, work, a few shared calendars) appear.

Feb 13, 2010So I added a new gmail email address to my phone but by accident, when prompted told it to synch my contacts with that account. The first thing it did was import all the contacts to my gmail address book, on gmail.com, effectively erasing most of them from the phone. I took it into the t-mobile store and the guy somehow managed to recover about 1/3 of the contacts. So when I took it home, I deleted that email address and just plugged it into my computer and re-synched the contacts from my address book. However, whenever I look in my address book on the blackberry now, at the top of a contact it says "Sychronize using: emailaddress@gmail.com" (Obviously insert the email address I used). But that email address is no longer on my phone, so how is it synched with that? It also I think it is creating problems with synching up my facebook contacts as their pictures no longer show as icons on my phone. It's a minor problem, and seems to be a software issue, but is there any way to completely un-sych my contacts from this deleted email address?
