I have been a fond lover of the Palm operating system for decades but have taken the leap of faith over to my new Nokia 5800. With the Palm, I can organise my Notes into folders (Personal, Business, Other etc) and password protect some of the Notes files.
How do I do this with my 5800? It seems so simple, I am surprised it is not a standard function. Is there a basic App I can download that will help me do this. I have looked but cannot find one (unless I want a full Microsoft Office Suite included).

I also find it strange that when pairing the devices, the phone does not request the code 0000 that is displayed by the CK-200.The other problem experienced is the breaking up of the incoming callers voice and a loud humming noise. The CK-200 has V4.0 software.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a BB Bold 9930, but still have lots of files on an old Palm Treo. It's about one thousand phone numbers and addresses + one hundred memos, of which several should be private or coded. Is there any way/method to facilitate the transfer or do I have to do it manually, one by one - first writing them anew on my computer and then transferring them to my BB? Three questions in this context:
1. The phone book entries: How do I proceed?
2. The Memos: I have succeeded in transferring them to my PC, so they are now in .txt format. How should I best proceed to transfer them to my BB?
3. Some of the Memos should continue being private/protected - how to transfer them? And in what order to undertake these different steps?
I recently updated my GS2 i9100 from GB to ICS (4.03) as provided by my carrier (Bell). I am able to pair the phone and media audio with my car stereo (Hyundai Sonata) however I get the message "Unfortunately bluetooth share has stopped" every time it tries to download my contacts to the car. This appears after a minute or so. This was not an issue with GB as it downloaded seamlessly and I was able to use the built in voice calling feature of my car with no problems. The first time the download was tried, the phone rebooted. Since then I have removed the pairing from the phone and car and started over, as well as removed all synced accounts from my contacts except those actually on the phone. Still no luck.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got my Blackberry 9700 replacing my previous Palm 755. When I first used the Device Switch Wizard form the Blackberry Desktop Manager I was able to transfer all the data from my Palm Desktop to my Blackberry. I performed this for about four times as I modified my contact list. Now it aborts the transfer and receive a message saying:
"Desktop organizer data was not imported successfully. Errors occurred during the process"
I have since removed the Blackberry Desktop Manager software completely and reloaded - no result. I upgraded the Desktop Manager with automatic update - no result.

I've used various Palm pilots for many years and recently replaced the Palm with a BB Tour. I'd hoped there was desktop software similar to the Palm Desktop where you can view & modify calendar & contact info directly instead of having to use the BB for all data entry, but I don't see this feature in Desktop Manager. Am I missing something? It's a pity if this isn't available, it makes the BB a much less attractive option for me.

I just had a broken iPhone replaced and I started downloading my apps from my old iPhone back onto my new one, via iCloud, in the Apple Store. When I left the Apple Store, they stopped downloading (naturally), as I was not connected to WiFi- but once I got home and re-connected to WiFi, they would not continue downloading. How do I get my apps to continue downloading?

Even when you disable the setting to use cellular data for music downloads, when you enable iTunes match and are downloading files, if you walk away from your hotspot, iTunes keeps downloading you music.I've tried anything, but only completly disabling cellular data (network setting) prevents me from using up loads of data traffic while having iTunes Match downloads.

I'm having an issue with Gmail (IMAP) not downloading attachments from myself! (I use Gmail to archive documents, etc). Same issue on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3, both iOS 5.1, using the default mail app with default "Gmail" account (IMAP) set up.They *were* both working fine, then I erased both devices for a clean install. Set up the email accounts again, now none of my own attachments download on either device. When I say not downloading, I see the attachment download box (dashed box with download arrow inside), and on pressing it, the attachment downloads (0 to XX kb), but then the download box just flashes back to showing the file size, and the attachments do not show. I keep pressing the download box but it flashes and nothing happens. Same with .jpg .png .doc .xls .pdf, etc.BEFORE THE FORMAT:All attachments downloaded correctly (as far as I can remember) before I had erased both devices.NOW:
Attachments sent *from* me (...@gmail.com), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, BEFORE formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, do NOT download. However, if I then forward the email, including attachments, the attachments appear in the outgoing message preview! (so they're not corrupt)Attachments sent *from* me (...@gmail.com), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, DO download and correctly appear in the email.Attachments sent *from* me (...@gmail.com), via iPhone/iPad, to me or anyone else, any time BEFORE or AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, appear correctly.
Attachments sent from anyone else, *to* me (...@gmail.com), always appear correctly. On a friend's iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) works fine - all attachments download and showOn a friend's iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) replicates my problem - all attachments from me (sent before the format) do not download. (So it's not specific to my own devices!)Gmail Exchange server (m.google.com) works fine:all attachements download and show correctly. Also no problem using Thunderbird IMAP or the Gmail web interface. So it looks like it might be a problem with iOS 5.1, however it all seemed to be working fine before I did the erase/format.and new emails sent from me always appear correctly... actually that might explain why it was working before (as I was always downloading new emails, and not looking at archives).
