I sold my 3GS to someone, unlocked with Ultrasn0w, I told them not to update the phone and what do you know, they update it.Does the bootrom get update if the phone is update through iTunes? Or in other words what I am trying to find out if there is a way for me to put back the IPSW with 4.0 (w/ Cydia) back on the phone?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have T-mobile for the next year at least. Got a really good condition iphone 3gs with new bootrom and ios4. So I can't use it at the moment cause its not unlockable. What are the chances an unlocking process will be developed in the next month or two? Did Apple put a stop to unlocking with the latest setup for good? My options are just re-sell this one and try to get a decent shape 3g that is unlockable or wait and hope an unlock process becomes available. I really would like to keep this thing, its like brand new condition.

I reset my device in an attempt to fix, but unfortunately it didn't fix it. At least I had all my music, apps and movies before, now I literally just have a blank phone that wont sync.

I have a VERY new iPhone. I was wondering what hacks are available to me at this point in the hacking community. I have tried countless times and nearly bricked my phone half a dozen times now. Thank god for DFU mode. Anyway, I would love to jailbreak it (no need to unlock) but what I'm really after is tethering. Nothing works on 3.1.3 unless it's jailbroken and i cannot do that, or so links from google tell me. My phone is pwning me. Please tell me if I've lost the battle or there's still hope for me yet? I have an IPhone 4 which I am trying to restore back to factory settings via iTunes. Every time I try to follow the restore process of itunes, it tries to install IOS 7.1.2 and shows it as needing 3 hours. The thing is that my phone shows as software updated and 7.1.2 and if I hit the 'check for updates' on iTunes it also shows as being updated and on 7.1.2. I have done the full reboot of the phone and restarted itunes (red) ....

Have iphone on 3.1.3 spirit jailbreak - used the spirit2pwn method via cydia and did a reboot after installing that patch.created custom ispw via snowbreeze 1.6.1 tried to restore but gets half way and i get an "error 1600" on itunes used "run as administrator" on snowbreeze.
im running vista (unfortunately) only thing i can think of is that 3.5 netframework didnt install but snowbreeze ran fine and i am assuming i already have 3.5 hence why it didnt install properly.So whats error 1600 whats the work around?iphone is in DFU mode still and wont be taking it out of it until i know what to do next.

I’ve tried restoring it with various custom IPSW files from different programs (I’ve even tried 3.1.0, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, and IOS 4) but my phone refuses to restore or restore unlocked. It still keeps asking for a valid sim. Sometimes, iTunes tells me that the “device isn’t eligible for the requested build”. I can’t use redsn0w because no matter what IPSW I try to use with it, it cannot be recognized. Sn0wbreeze did not work either. I’ve tried on both a MAC and a PC.According to forecast, my phone can be jailbroken but not unlocked. Bootloader is 6.4.
I recently updated itunes, and iphoto and iphone and now the iphone will not connect to iphoto to download pictures. IPhone will connect to flash card thru usb port.
