IPhone :: 3Gs Old Bootrom Spirit2pwn - Error 1600 On Snowbreeze

Have iphone on 3.1.3 spirit jailbreak - used the spirit2pwn method via cydia and did a reboot after installing that patch.created custom ispw via snowbreeze 1.6.1 tried to restore but gets half way and i get an "error 1600" on itunes used "run as administrator" on snowbreeze.
im running vista (unfortunately) only thing i can think of is that 3.5 netframework didnt install but snowbreeze ran fine and i am assuming i already have 3.5 hence why it didnt install properly.So whats error 1600 whats the work around?iphone is in DFU mode still and wont be taking it out of it until i know what to do next.

hi guys, i am dieing for an untethered jailbreak, and i was just wondering if i can replace my iphone 3gs's bootrom with the one in my ipod touch. are they the same size and shape? are they compatible? this information would be very much appreciated. i am probably not going to do it cuz i dont want to void the warranty or screw anything up...so its just for educational purposes. thanks in advance?

I have a friend's iPhone after he seemingly bricked it by using blackra1n and then wanting to unlock it so he used blacksno and then he said he got something called buetbunueter and he thinks he hit a wrong button and screwed it all up.
I started off by trying a simple restore of the iPhone as that is basically the only thing that will come up consistently. Unfortunately I get error 23 and the phone cannot be restored. I've tried 1.1.2, 3.1.2, and a custom 3.1.2 from Pwnage.
I then went into DFU mode and tried all 3 firmwares again, but this time I got error 1600. So, yet another failure.
I've tried iRecovery and that doesn't seem to help and I've tried using blackra1n again but it just seems to hang on the logo when it is supposed to be rebooting.
Anyone have any ideas or tips, I've been googling for about 2 hours and have seem way too many blogs.

Spec: Iphone 3Gs 3.1.2 - 05.11.07
Recently I jailbreak using pwnage then blackra1n/blacksn0w to unlock my iphone 3gs (3.1.2 - 05.11.07). So I decide to get one for my girlfriend same spec (3.1.2 - 05.11.07) and when I did the same process, itune gives the 1600 error during custom firmware restore. I later discovered it had a newer bootrom on this one and Untethered jailbreak (pwnage) wasn’t supported.
The iphone is currently stuck in DFU mode and unable to enter recovery mode and gives the 1600 error upon restore, I tried using new cable and switched from Mac to PC for the restore but none worked. With iREB not supporting 3gs. I am out of ideas anyone can help to restore the iphone?
I should have just used blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak and unlock it .I guess I can normal restore it to 3.1.3 and have a itouch instead if worst come to worst.In addition I have a question about blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak/unlock, I was under the assumption if I powered off I will loss the unlock, but that’s not the case on another iphone?

my iphone 3gs was previously 3.1.2 firmware and i used my brother laptop that already had blackra1n installed so i used it and it looked fine then it just got bricked? it just doesnt turn on and when i plug it in computer it just says its in recovery mode and needs to be recovered.
so i thought i would just recover it to 3.1.3 but i wanted to avoid that step and go straight to 3.1.2 so that i can instantly jailbreak it correctly this time. i search around Internet and find a download for 3.1.2 firmware and i follow the steps and im supposed to do shift+and click restore on itunes and browse the download all looks swell until when it says preparing for recovery and it just comes with the (1600) error code.

Here's the deal.. I was driving today and all of a sudden my phone just stopped working.. I saw a notification saying I should restore my phone or contact apple.. My phone still powers on, I still have my custom lock screen and all but I can only make emergency calls and access SBSettings which doesn't actually work anymore. So I tried to restore the the custom firmware and itunes keeps giving me the 1600 error .. I have heard iReb can fix this but I dont even know if its compatible with the 3GS for this issue.. I have tried but its kinda confusing and hasnt exactly worked..

heres my situation...lastnight, i was in cydia downlaoding a patch for the mms tethering for tmobile. as soon as it rebooted the phone, i had the feeling the it will be stuck on the apple logo.
so i tried restoring it again with my custom 3.1.2 fw using mac. i did the option+restore and as soon as it about to restore it, it gave me the 1600 error message...
so searched this forum and went to Internet for the "1600 error". the solution i came up with is to run the redsnow 9.0...i tried running the program at first but could not get it to run properly as my phone is stuck in restore mode and could not put it in dfu mode (connect to itunes logo). i tried pressing the power and home button so many times and it eventually put me in the dfu mode (connect to itunes logo) and it completely ran the redsnow process. problem is...it still giving me the annoying "1600 error" message.

I am considering jailbreaking my wife's 3G 8GB (factory-unlocked, currently on 3.1.3) and the only windows tool for this seems to be Snowbreeze.The phone is out of warranty anyway now - had broken glass fixed by a 3rd party.Anyone have any experience with how well Snowbreeze works for this task?

so I used snowbreeze to create a custom jailbroken 3.1.3 firmware for my 3Gs. i put my iphone in recovery mode and did the restore. It restored sucessfully except my iphone is stuck at the apple logo. I've tried doing it in DFU mode and i can't even do the restore because i get a error 1600 message. so right now my iphone is completely unusable.

I have T-mobile for the next year at least. Got a really good condition iphone 3gs with new bootrom and ios4. So I can't use it at the moment cause its not unlockable. What are the chances an unlocking process will be developed in the next month or two? Did Apple put a stop to unlocking with the latest setup for good? My options are just re-sell this one and try to get a decent shape 3g that is unlockable or wait and hope an unlock process becomes available. I really would like to keep this thing, its like brand new condition.

Looks like the jailbreak matrix was updated and now it shows that ultrasnow can now unlock the new bootrom on the 3GS. Anyone try it out yet. I just purchased one with a new boot rom and needed to unlock it and was wandering if anyone can confirm its working.

I have received a brand new 3gs from apple yesterday, and it does in fact have the new bootrom and of course it came pre loaded with the 3.1.3 software , I have been reading all over that you can jailbreak but it is tethered, and then I have also heard that you can not jailbreak So I am confused.. Can I, or Can I NOT jailbreak?

i purchased a new 3gs phone recently without contract but locked to a provider. it already jailbreak it with blackra1n rc3 and possible unlock it with sn0w (i have to test with different provider sim to see if it's unlocked yet?)though i know i have a tethered jailbroken iphone (need to hook up to computer after a reboot) it works fine with wifi and gps but no Internet atm

I have a VERY new iPhone. I was wondering what hacks are available to me at this point in the hacking community. I have tried countless times and nearly bricked my phone half a dozen times now. Thank god for DFU mode. Anyway, I would love to jailbreak it (no need to unlock) but what I'm really after is tethering. Nothing works on 3.1.3 unless it's jailbroken and i cannot do that, or so links from google tell me. My phone is pwning me. Please tell me if I've lost the battle or there's still hope for me yet? I sold my 3GS to someone, unlocked with Ultrasn0w, I told them not to update the phone and what do you know, they update it.Does the bootrom get update if the phone is update through iTunes? Or in other words what I am trying to find out if there is a way for me to put back the IPSW with 4.0 (w/ Cydia) back on the phone?

I am having an issue with a weird error code that I have gotten since day 1 of owning my torch. Everytime I do a BP when the phone boots up I am getting an error that says, "122 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. Activatet=6"
I get this same error code when trying to set up my visual voicemail. When someone leaves a message I get that 122 Error as well as another error sent from 1000000000 that just has a garbled message. My VVM has been reset twice by at&t and I have been told that everything is provisioned correctly. I was hoping that .214 would fix this issue but still it persists.

after dropping my Iphone 4 on the floor it can't connect to my PC, the error i am getting in Itunes is "Itunes was not able to establish connection to this iphone, caused by unknown error 0xE8000001". Itunes suggest to go into an applestore and get it solved but since third party has replaced the screen will apple not touch it....I have tred to uninstall itunes after closing down a few apple files via "task manager" and hard restored the Iphone but the phone will not acctivate, only get to the screen saying "connect to itunes". when i plug in a fully functional USB cable in a fully functional USB plug in my PC (windows 7, 64bit) does the phone connect and disconnect with the PC a few times, sometimes it keep on connecting/disconnecting but when the phone able to establish connection do i get a box saying "error 0xE8000001" and when clicking on the phone can i see its charging the battery but no possibilities to make a firmware restore or anything els. (have only the option to "eject" the iphone). is it possible to go one more step back than "hard restore" so the phone need to reinstall all hardware ect ect?

Error Message: iTunes could not back up the iPhone because an error occurred. The thing is - I have no idea what error have I encountered!
