IPhone :: Contacts Application Not Working After 5.1.1 Upgrade?
Jun 17, 2012
I have an iphone 3GS and have recently updated to 5.1.1 Now the contacts app doesn't work. I cannot call from the list and I can't add or edit contacts within the app. I have tried a software restore but this hasn't worked. ICloud contacts is on.
I upgraded my blackberry Curve 8900 to OS 5.0 - and now I get several application errors. I get a general applicaiton error that says "uncaught exception.application registry.wait for ox37566616e5676358 timeout". I get additional error messages (error starting net_rim_bb_calendar_app: class net.rim.device.internal.ui.image not found) when I try to use my calendar or any media files. I have tried reloading the software but this keeps happening. I called T-mobile and they basically told me to buy a new phone (ugh!).
I downloaded two application upgrades on my Curve and after the second upgrade I selected reboot now so as to install the applications. The BB begins the update process but upon reaching the 2/3 mark it wont move any futher, it has remained that way for an hour (black screen with BB logo and name and below the progress bar). Despite me taking out the battery and letting it restart a fresh it doesn't get beyond that same point.
I use a BB 8520. I am unable to upgrade my device core application from version 4.6 to version 5.0.When I click on the "Update Device" on the BB Desktop Software version 6.0, it states that my device does not require an update. Also when I click on the tab applications of the Desktop Software it does not show BB Core Application 4.6 and does show all other applications such Facebook, BB App World and BB Messenger 5.0.
Downloaded and installed latest OS for my 9700.On the very last stage "Restore Device Data", my loader stalled and I'm afraid may not complete. Any information on how I can protect my data and the phone's data and how I can restart the loader?
I'm having an issue with my Tour 9630.Upgraded to 5.0 and no Memo or Task apps. Tried everything. Seems odd that BlackBerry wouldn't auto load these apps and allow the user to delete themselves. I'm getting tired of the deleting, reloading, searching, etc.
I need an alternative to iSmartDialer. Purchased this software for my 3GS same time ago and ended up having to purchase a second copy so it would work on my fiancées phone too. At one point I restored and couldn't find the code and iSmartDialer customer service gave me hell retrieving my key. Now we both have iPhone 4's and the application is telling me 1 code to 1 device without a transfer option. Going to their website, it actually says NO transfers. Kind of funny considering back when we purchased it didn't say anything about no transfers nor did rockyourphone.com.
So at this point, I am not paying another cent to this dirty company and advise others not to either unless you like to buy the application everytime you get a new device. With that said, I am looking for a simple dialing application that will allow me to save contacts to the number pad. So, when you hold #1 for example it calls whoever you have assigned to that key. Anyone know of an application like that?
My iPhone syncs with my gmail contacts, but they were all lost during upgrade. In the gmail account settings, it no longer allows me to select contacts for syncing. Has anyone else experienced this?
I upgraded my iphone 4 to the 5.1 software yesterday evening. Following upgrade my calendar, notes and bookmarks were still there but many apps missing, all music gone and most crucially most of my contacts have disappeared although I still have lots of text messages (numbers appearing rather than name) and emails. I have contacts only where their name begins with an A !All backups have disappeared too. I connected to an old laptop and managed to retrieve apps and the music which I had syned from that laptop previously but still no sign of the contacts.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1, problems following upgrade
Just upgraded wife's iPhone 3gs to latest IOS(5.1). After completion everything was good except all of her contacts were gone. I tried re-synching and nothing. I tried restoring and, I thought it had made a backup before the upgrade, but all backup copies were after the upgrade.
I've just upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1.1 and all of my contacts are gone. How to restore the contacts, please? I connected the phone to iTunes again after I lost the contacts and it automatically backed up the phone for me but I have older backups from the hard drive.
When I view my contacts and pull up the menu to choose settings. I go to choose AT&T Address Book - You can change your address book settings. When I choose it I get the error : The application Contacts (process com.motorola.blur.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. The only thing odd I can find is that com.motorola.settings.anr.
when I was upgrading to 4, I got some error that came up (something like MobileBackup.exe has crashed, not too sure what it was) and it stopped restoring. However, it is still called "Anthony's iPhone", the same as during the last upgrade and I synced it so I still have all my old apps. Is there anyway I can recover all these lost contacts etc? It's basically like a new phone now with apps, I had to so the shift+restore method to upgrade as my iTunes account wasn't logging in.
Oh and btw, yes I was doing it on Vista because my iMac broke a few weeks ago, so no comments like "because you're on Windows" please :P
Yesterday I decided to sync my iPhone to a different PC which my husband uses to sync his ipod. Before I sync-ed I upgraded itunes to v10. When I tried to sync however I noticed that the contacts section in the Info tab had nothing in the list (i.e. The title reads "Sync Contacts with " followed by a list but the list is empty) and when I click the Configure button nothing happens. Anyway I checked the option to sync contacts anyway but got an error saying "itunes was unable to load dataclass information from sync services."
Stupidly I then chose to restore my iphone as suggested in the Summary tab and thereby lost all of the contacts on my phone which I of course cannot sync back.
I received my Iphone as a gift 2 months ago. It was bought in China from an official Apple store. I then went to my local service provider and received a micro-sim on a pay-as-you-go deal. Phone worked perfectly for 2 and half months. I did the 5.1.1 update two nights ago and now the phone is saying: "Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the sim card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier store to receive a replacement sim card."
I visited both VODACOM (in South Africa) and IStore (3rd party retailer of APPLE as there is NO Apple store in Africa). I put in the original AT&T sim, the phone switched on and recognises me but obviously there is no service because AT&T is not in South Africa. I then put in my Vodacom sim and it rejects it. I used the phone perfectly for 2+months and since the update this problem occured.
My phone was unlock and working alright. Then I passed it to my granddaughter. She try to upgrade it and sync it with iTunes . Suddenly just display no service.
Anyone can let me have AT&T's email address for asking help to unlock my old iPhone 3G. A relative gave it to me last year. It work alright with my Vodafone sim till I try to upgrade it lately. Now it just go into no service. I were told AT&T lock it again when I try to upgrade.
i recently upgraded the iOS of my OLD 3GS device & to my nightmare it stopped working. Now i get "NO SIM ERROR", which doesn't allow me to do anything.
When i visited the local Apple store their response was pathetic, they tried selling me another 3GS. my phone was working fine until i decided to keep the OS up to date. Now i feel that was one of the biggest mistake as Apple doesn't take ownership of its own products, the tech support told me the same thing "when you upgrade iOS on an old device, you are basically doing it at your own risk" ... WOW, i was blown off. Now that my phone has stopped working i'm looking for a solution from apple else this is definitely going to be a serious matter.
Siri suddenly not working with upgrade to iOS 8.1.1.?no response to re-storing software. microphone appears to be working.Siri just doesn't respond to voice command.
For some reason, the native Maps app is not loading on my iPhone 6 after the most recent upgrade to 8.1.1. All I see is a blank screen ! The Google Maps app is working perfectly fine. I have tried rebooting several times but that doesn't fix the problem.
