For some reason, the native Maps app is not loading on my iPhone 6 after the most recent upgrade to 8.1.1. All I see is a blank screen ! The Google Maps app is working perfectly fine. I have tried rebooting several times but that doesn't fix the problem.

Recently upgrade my BB OS from 5.x to 6 series... immediately after the upgrade noticed Maps had disappeared, right clicking contacts and view on map throws a location not found error... using the built in search from the home screen shows nothing.
From Blackberry Desktop I can see Blackberry Maps 6.0 listed as installed, when I try and install OTA from bb.com I get a Java error though I can see the Blackberry Maps 6.1 Installer listed in installed applications. I have tried removing Blackberry Maps 6.0 prior to installing OTA, with no change in behavior. I have also tried downgrading the OS with minimal applications installed again no change in behavior.Seems to be the only application I have issues with.

I updated ovi suite to the latest version and went to the update page, this told me that the maps update was available. This I downloaded and installed, however when I ran maps booted up and then shut down again. After further investigation I found that the phone needed to be on v31. When I try to upgrade I`m told that I Have the latest version! I removed the Maps program thinking I would just reinstall Maps V2.0, but I can't find this anywhere. So now I`m stuck, I have no maps program, I can't find V2.0, and I`m wondering why I can't upgrade the phone software.
Upgraded the phone software to V 40.0.005 (dated Dec 29, 2009) on my 5800xm, and now my maps are blank.When I click on the green compass I used to get a street level map, and after a while it would jump to my current position.I can still zoom etc, and it looks like it still gets a satellite fix (shows correct coordinates) but the maps seem to have gone.Just downloaded the Ovi maps anew from Nokia, and there is now a new menu structure, but still no maps.

But now everytime I connect my phone to the PC with Nokia Suite, I always get the message that there is an application (i.e. Nokia Maps Suite 2.0) available to install. But the icon is not available.I have tried to remove and re-add using Desktop Manager with no success. This appears to be a known issue: the problem is you are missing one module. I received my Iphone as a gift 2 months ago. It was bought in China from an official Apple store. I then went to my local service provider and received a micro-sim on a pay-as-you-go deal. Phone worked perfectly for 2 and half months. I did the 5.1.1 update two nights ago and now the phone is saying: "Only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the sim card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier store to receive a replacement sim card."
I visited both VODACOM (in South Africa) and IStore (3rd party retailer of APPLE as there is NO Apple store in Africa). I put in the original AT&T sim, the phone switched on and recognises me but obviously there is no service because AT&T is not in South Africa. I then put in my Vodacom sim and it rejects it. I used the phone perfectly for 2+months and since the update this problem occured.

i recently upgraded the iOS of my OLD 3GS device & to my nightmare it stopped working. Now i get "NO SIM ERROR", which doesn't allow me to do anything.
When i visited the local Apple store their response was pathetic, they tried selling me another 3GS. my phone was working fine until i decided to keep the OS up to date. Now i feel that was one of the biggest mistake as Apple doesn't take ownership of its own products, the tech support told me the same thing "when you upgrade iOS on an old device, you are basically doing it at your own risk" ... WOW, i was blown off. Now that my phone has stopped working i'm looking for a solution from apple else this is definitely going to be a serious matter.

Has anyone else had this problem? In the description t said something cryptic about a future stable 4.0 release. I upgraded anyway (3gs 3.1.2 blackra1n) and now its not working. The options are still in the settings app, but i cant reply from the lock screen, and when i get sms/mms from any app or home
screen, there is no "reply" button like usual, just view and close (like before i had quickreply sms).
Anyone else having this problem as well? And is there any way to downgrade it to an older ver so i can get it working again? I tried reinstalling it 3 times (officially purchesed)
I have an iPhone 3Gs and after upgrading to iOS 5.1 the bottom row of the keypad/keyboard does not function properly. More specifically, when I press the ".?123" button the SHIFT key activates and when I press the "return" key the backspace button is activated instead. I also cannot press the "space" key. This only happens in portrait/vertical mode. It's normal in landscape/horizontal mode. This problem only occurs when the keyboard is active. All other touchscreen activity is normal. Again, this only started to happen after I upgraded to iOS 5.1. I have reset the network settings, reset the phone and hard reset the phone.

I called AT&T's (my carrier) tech support and they got it working for a few minutes but as soon as I got off the phone with the agent it stopped working! My account with them is current.

It updated everything fine, but when I tried to run the maps, it said "This version of maps is not compatible with the old map data stored on your device", and deleted the maps. I redownloaded the maps to the phone using the Nokia Ovi Suite, but it always pops up the same message about being incompatible and needs to be deleted. I have tried a few fixes I found on the forum, but these havnt worked. (Deleting nokia + ovi maps from application manager). Any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to have Maps 2 on my phone until very recently however I upgraded to Maps 3 over the Christmas period, this was working fine while I was in the UK. I have since travelled to Russia (in Moscow) and have had nothing but problems. First of all I am not able to get a GPS signal although when I was here before Christmas (Maps 2) it was working fine. When I start maps I go on line and also have my position set by Network this does not work either. I have done the following since without sucess.
1) I have connected my phone to the computer in Mass storage mode and removed the folder'Cities' and the qf file as stated in the help file.
2) I have reloaded the phone software to my phone.
3) I have reloaded Maps 3 on my phone.
4) I have loaded the Map of Russia on my phone (which takes a good 6 hours due to my company firewall)
5) After this has loaded I have tried my maps on the phone and can see down to street level but my position is not indicated either by GPS or the network (network MTS Vodafone Partner).
6) When the map has loaded from the computer to the phone I can see the map on my phone using the OVI Pc Suite.
7) If I remove my phone from the computer and then reconnect it the OVI Pc Suite says there are no maps on my device.
8) I downloaded Albania and also cyprus before loading Russia again, whilst still connected to my computer I can see all 3 of these maps but if i disconect and connect again it says no maps are on my phone.
I have spent the last 5 days trying to get this to work without sucess. As I am currently working here in Russia this device is invaluable to me but at the moment it is not providing much use apart from taking up my companies bandwith with downloads. I think I posted this on the wrong board earlier, Since then I have downloaded the UK map and this time after it downloaded I could see it in the OVI Pc Suite, I opened maps on the phone while still connected to the computer and after I closed it OVI Suite said there where no Maps on my device although there are. I am still not getting a GPS signal I even left the phone on the window sill for one whole night with no obstructions and still never got a GPS signal.
I have 5800 XM with firmware v50.0.005 and ovi maps v3 But whenever i try opening ovi maps it opens and closes automaticaly within 3seconds I have uninstaled the ovi maps and instald it again,i have also restored my phone to factory settings and then updatd my firmware and ovi maps But the problem with the OVI maps not working continues Does anyone else face the same problem Can someone help me find a solution?
