I have a 3G iphone and have switched providers and now and told that i need to access and change my "APN" settings? I dont really understand why I personally need to do this and "how" to go about doing this? My internet features are currently not working on my phone.....

why does my C3 -01 keep changing some settings by itself? I have it set to always ask before connecting to the internet because I dont want to run up huge bills but I often fint it has reverted to connect when required ! (I have never knowinyly connected to the internet other than by wifi) I sthere any way I can permanently disable the phones ability to connect via the network?

Things like screen brightness, tone volume and even the type of ring tone for calls & notifications will change. I use a lock screen so accidental button pushing is not the reason.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am hoping to get some help with a problem I am having with my Virgin Mobile LG Rumor 2.I have found a great website that will allow me to download programs directly to my phone that you cant get on Virgin Mobile's store (Go to http://www.getjar.com)Now, I have down loaded various programs for MSN and Facebook chatting, RSS Programs, however, it seems virgin mobile has restricted 3rd party access to the internet. The programs install fine, they run but as soon as they ask for access to the internet....the program comes to an abrupt halt.
I have heard that giving access through Bitpim is possible, however, bitpim does not fully support the Rumor 2 (see it as CDMA Other). Is there anyway to let 3rd party programs access to the internet on the LG Rumor 2? Is there any "secret access" to the phone that would allow me to change some type od settings?I like the Rumor 2 but am pulling my hair out trying to figure a way to let the programs access the net.
I have the 200MB plan and use the internet when I am ONLY on WiFi networks. However, while exploring 2.2, I recall seeing a setting that, if the WiFi connection drops, the new setting stops the Bravo from using the 3G. If the Bravo changed over to 3G to maintain the internet connection (apparently the default setting), massive data charges would be incurred. I have tried to re-discover this setting but no success to date. Any way to use / change this "WiFi to 3G" setting?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince the Update to ICS the ringtone settings of my neoV (SI: 1254-4760) has been behaving odd: I usually set my phone to vibration only, but once the phone has been used for media playback or as alarm (using the app Alarm Droid), the ringtone setting changes to sound activated without any input from the user to do so. In previous versions the media volume was separated from ringtone volume. I see 3 possible reasons for this behavior: I need to change a setting. The volume management has been changed for ICS.

I got a new MacBook Pro several months ago.Up until now, I've always synched my iPhone up with my work computer (PC). My work PC has all of my backups currently on it (with apps, photos, contacts, etc), and I've never attempted connecting my iPhone to my MBP.I'd like to begin using my MBP as the main synching computer, as my MBP has all of my music on it (2000 or so songs). Problem is...my iPhone currently has no music on it...so I can't just backup my current iPhone on my MBP.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any insight on how to properly transition to the MBP being my main synching source?Is there a way to connect my iPhone...transfer everything on it to the MBP's iTunes (minus music), and then transfer songs to the iPhone?
When I leave my iPhone on my desk the signal fluctuates between four bars and one bar throughout the day. it's either one bar or four bars and I don't change the phone at all. what could be causing this?

I have set and reset the My Info tab in general mail settings on each device multiple times. However, when I go into an particular device (be it my iPad or my wife's iPhone) and check the My Info tab sometimes it has changed on it's own. This manifested itself a couple of times when my wife would text me and she would see both the "sent" side of the text and the "recieved" side. I took a look at the My Info and HER iPad had changed to MY info.

I have just received two new iPhone 4s. I ordered a white for me and black for my wife. But she wanted the white one so we swapped and have since restored all her data to the white on and mine to the black. All is well except when I go to buy an app it brings up my wife's apple ID and asks for her password instead of mine. I assume this is because the carrier registered the serials to our names, or am I being daft here? Basically m iPhone has all my details except when I go to buy an app it things I'm my wife. My AppleID in the settings>iCloud tab of my iphone4 is incorrect. A box pops up to tell me that it is incorrect, and I can either edit or ignore. When I select 'edit' the account information pops up: AppleID, password, and description.
the problem is this: it will allow me to change the password and the description, but the appleID is in grey text and therefore unavailable for editing. UGH.
my appleID in the store is correct. my appleID settings are verified as correct on the myappleid part of the apple site.
Why won't it allow me to change it? I'd really like to get the cloud up & working!

my son attempted to unlock my Iphone 4 after I changed the passcode. He tried so many times that it disabled my Iphone. I know the passcode, but it will not allow me to enter it. Ok can somebody please help me as I am literally about to break my iPhone off the wall in temper!.
I got an 4s and was able to download apps since I have bought it. I entered my boyfriends VISA card details as a payment method and we tried to buy an app for a joke even though there was no money in his account at the time. Now i can't download any Apps at all when i try to do so it asks me to enter my apple id password as usual which i do then another pop up comes up saying: Sign in Required:Tap Continue and sign in to view billing information. Even though the apps im trying to download are free?.
I dont have any other account details to give as Apple wont accept Laser card.. Can anybody please enlighten me as to what is going on.. its such a bloody complicated process!!!
