Can I read mail in my inbox without downloading newmail from the server? I would like to be able to open Mail and read an email without it downloading new emails and using up data and battery -I'd rather set it to manually do that. There's a feature to "fetch manually" but either it is not working or I am misunderstanding how it works. Everytime I open Mail it checks the server. I played around with turning on and off Fetch and Push. Seems unfortunate that I might not be able to read an email in my inbox without downloading unknown large emails while traveling where data and battery are sometimes difficult to manage.
I am using the iPhone 4s. Mail worked until 3 days ago. I get a message to contact my server. Using hotmail and all my other devises are working, i. e. iPad computers, etc. I hate to lose my contacts by deleting the account since I know I will lose contact information.
I have following problem:on my N97mini i have installed MfE and it works. But when I receive an email and i read it in outlook or OWA the "new Mail icon" on my N97mini doesn't disappear. It shows that I have a new email but when I click on it there is no new email. The icon only disappears when i reboot my N97mini.
A few days ago when receiving gmail messages I am unable to see the conbtents of the messages received; only when I answer them do I see the full message (and beforehand get a question whether I want to download the full message). what can I do to remedy this?
I was using Outlook Express to send & receive mail. And then (because Outlook Express has been giving me fits with errors and needing to put my password in every time I wanted to use it) I switched to Mail (the one that came on my Mac).Â
And now, with Mail, something crazy is happening on my iPhone and iPad. It showed that it was downloading and downloading and downloading, but I don’t know what it was downloading. Archived stuff? Everything that is in everything in every folder on my Mac?
Then it stopped downloading stuff, and now it won’t send, I get an error saying that it Cannot Send Mail.Â
I tried to delete my email account from settings so that I could start over, but the gear just spun and spun for over 30 minutes.Â
I think that it must be connected to the fact that I switched from Outlook Express to Mail.Â
I have with Mail syncing. I searched this forum and looked through dozens of topics, but none seemed to quite fit my circumstances. What I do is, if I get an email on my iPhone while I'm away from home and my wireless network, I read and answer it with the iPhone. Then when I get home, I open Mail on my laptop and it "gets" the same email, marked as unread with no record of a reply. Perfectly natural. Then I plug in my iPhone and it syncs - I do specifically see the "Syncing Mail accounts" portion on iTunes - but the emails on my laptop remain unread and the reply email does not appear in the sent mail folder. That hardly seems synced to me, and I'm not sure what's causing the problem.
On an iPhone 4s which has been working fine mail from hotmail is now only showing the headings. The first 2 lines preview ok, so it is seeing the content, but tapping the message only shows the heading.
Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?
I've got BuzzMe Pro.Had it on my Bold 9000.Not sure if it's part of my problem but I can't get the LED notifications to turn off after I read an e-mail.I open the mail and the little symbol for new mail goes away, but the LED keeps blinking.Sometimes, if I click on "mark prior opened", it goes away.Sometimes not.
I configure my corp mail using BIS in my blackberry. I am getting around 100+ mails in hours of time. Even I read in my corp outlook, still blackberry shows "UNREAD".When I configure I have a open to sync my delete mail with my corp outlook not for inbox .I am totally tiring of go and open all the unread mail to make as read.
The SG-II's built-in mail app has a most annoying "feature":it obviously marks mails that it downloaded as read on the POP server. I would prefer to have them still left as "unread", so when I access my account via Outlook later, they would be downloaded there as well. I realize, that this would mean that I have to re-read them (or mark them as read) again but I would prefer to have ALL my mails in Outlook as well. Currently, if I read my mails via the SG-II but want to keep one of them also in Outlook (e.g for archiving purposes), I have to resend the mail to my second account (which is only polled by Outlook). I find this is most stupid and annoying!
PS.: I do NOT want to switch to IMAP for other reasons and my POP account has worked as I described with Windows Mobile before, so I don't see, why I can't have that same behavior with my Andorid device.
I love the new features that came with the Belle update, the email and social clients are great! but the only thing is that the mail client doesnt seem to sync mail "Read" status, so when i look at my mail on my N8, it will still be marked unread on my PC and vice versa. Is this an issue that is known and will it be fixed?
I have updated my phone to the latest software. Since that the emai notification wont go even after reading and downloading every mail. Do somebody have a hint?
I have Yahoo on my iPhone, right? When I read an email in my Yahoo account on my iPhone, and later log into my Yahoo account, it shows those messages as read. Heck, I can even file my emails away in my folders, if I want to; i.e. move them over to my bills folder, or my purchases folder, or my mom folder. Now, here's the deal with my other account tho. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. I do not know a whole lot about how things are set up over here, but I have access to answers if you guys can help me find out the right questions to ask. When I read a work email on my iPhone, and I get to work the next morning, there it is, bold and unread. I really want it to show as read. I get an obnoxious amount of work emails. The whole point in keeping up with them on my phone is to save me time in the long run. So, when I get to work and have to re-read them all, I've saved nothing. Also, it would be phenomenal if you could also help me find a way to toss work emails in folders I have set up on my Outlook, as well.Dial NumberMember LookupQuery HistoryStart Member Query?
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
My iphone mail app regularly requires restart to get mail flowing. That is it is running (doesn't crash) but will at time just stop getting email updates. I then have to force close the mail app (i.e. kill it) and then restart it. After restarting it the mail flows again.
Notes:
a) I do connect to Gmail for my mail - I'm using the IMAP facility for gmail currently (i.e. not the "Exchange" method)
b) I do also have the Google "Gmail" app running on my device too
When I'm out and about, I pick up my mail on my iPad and/or on my iPhone. I HATE having to sift through the duplicates. I know I can delete the emails from the server as they are being downloaded, and that would solve the problem between the iDevices. But I still want a copy of them downloaded into Outlook on my desktop for future reference, so deleting them from the server before Outlook gets ahold of them does not seem like a good idea.I currently have a POP3 account, but I could move onto an Exchange Server or into iCloud or something else if that would solve the problem.
I recently changed my password on Yahoo.com, and I started having trouble accessing my email using the mail app on the iPhone 5. It was displaying "cannot get mail" and couldn't connect to the server, even after I updated my password on the phone. It seemed like it was reverting to my old password, even after I successfully changed it.Â
I switched to trying to access Yahoo through Mail - Other and it worked. I can receive my e-mails, but now it is not letting me send outgoing mails. It says "doesn't accept relays".
please can you support me to cancel the voicemail im my mobile because I;ve cancel it by the operator but still active with all rejected or an unswered calls
