Sep 4, 2014I was using Outlook Express to send & receive mail. And then (because Outlook Express has been giving me fits with errors and needing to put my password in every time I wanted to use it) I switched to Mail (the one that came on my Mac).Â
And now, with Mail, something crazy is happening on my iPhone and iPad. It showed that it was downloading and downloading and downloading, but I don’t know what it was downloading. Archived stuff? Everything that is in everything in every folder on my Mac?
Then it stopped downloading stuff, and now it won’t send, I get an error saying that it Cannot Send Mail.Â
I tried to delete my email account from settings so that I could start over, but the gear just spun and spun for over 30 minutes.Â
I think that it must be connected to the fact that I switched from Outlook Express to Mail.Â

May 17, 2012Can I read mail in my inbox without downloading newmail from the server? I would like to be able to open Mail and read an email without it downloading new emails and using up data and battery -I'd rather set it to manually do that. There's a feature to "fetch manually" but either it is not working or I am misunderstanding how it works. Everytime I open Mail it checks the server. I played around with turning on and off Fetch and Push. Seems unfortunate that I might not be able to read an email in my inbox without downloading unknown large emails while traveling where data and battery are sometimes difficult to manage.

Jun 18, 2012Something is EXTREMELY bothering on iPhone and NEVER happens on other operating systems / platforms: Mail app on iPhone downloads the mail attachements, without asking me. It costs me a lot when this happens on a gsm network connection (not on wi-fi). It is normal in any mail client in the world to have the option of downloading only headers, or at least to decide when and if you want to download the attach.
Can this be set in anyway? Or is just one annoying thing that you cannot change? If so, is there a certain limit for the attachement file-size, that is used for the auto-download? I mean, above this limit, the attachements are not downloaded automatically anymore?

Jan 5, 2012My phone is suffering from the infamous white screen of death about once a day now. The only response I can then get from it is if I do a battery pull. When I return the battery the phone starts to reboot but never finishes and just turns off and is unresponsive to any buttons. The only way I have found to remedy this is by charging the phone. It then turns on as normal. I will make a point of noting that my phone is never out of battery when this happens. When I go to charge it, it starts off at whatever percentage of full it was previously on.

Apr 15, 2010This is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through.If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?

Dec 12, 2014About a week ago, my iPhone 5S started acting very strange. Whenever I go into my "Messages" app, it either shows up as a blank white page or shows previous messages but the screen freezes on the page. Sometimes I am able to text but then it starts freezing again. I am unable to call anyone. My battery is drastically draining. My phone just decides to freeze randomly and will turn off by itself. When double clicking the home button to "close" apps, my phone freezes. I have tried to update to the new IOS 8.1.2, but whenever I choose the "agree" option, my phone doesn't do anything.

It feels like you really need to press down on the power button to get the shut down menu to show up.If i don't press down hard enough or right, the shut down menu shows up then it locks and the lock screen shows up. it's quite straight forward, and I don't remember having to hold down the power button for that long for it to shut down.

Nov 15, 2011I have discovered that some of my text messages are not being sent or received. Every text shows that it sends and shows a time within a few seconds. I would say I am 90% working fine, but important texts are falling through the cracks.Text messages I send with more than 160 characters auto blend into one message natively. Recipients are only receiving part #2.They never have received the first part on dozens of tries. Always the case from home and work. I'm connected to wifi at home and work. Oddly enough, I was able to disconnect from wifi and was able to send both parts of sms messages 4 out of 5 times. When i connected back to wifi, still only the 2nd part of the sms.A few of the regular sms messages that I confirmed didn't go through were more than 100 characters, but less than 160. So far, every small or low character count message has worked.
Didn't receive a couple of texts that I was able to verify were 100+ character texts. eems to be a larger message problem, but every picture I have sent has successfully gone through.Installed Go SMS tonight. Still had the issue when sending multipart texts that only text #2 came through.I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Sprint today. We did a battery pull and he did a phone refresh remotely. I tried a test text while he was on the phone. I sent a 2 parter to my wife and it was received. I thought the problem was fixed, but the very next 2 part text only showed the 2nd part of the message. I have not been able to get a 2 parter to go through since.
