I'm a Windows 7 user... would you recommend using Redsnow to upgrade my 3GS 3.12 to iOS4 or would you suggest I wait until I can get my hands on a custom firmware and use PwnageTool? I think PwnageTool is how I upgraded my FW the last time. I just can't remember where I got my custom ipsw and I'm not sure how to find one for 4.0.

The only thing I _really_ wanted in iOS4 was multitasking but that's a no-go for the 3G. Are there any other things in the new OS to make it worth my while upgrading?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi'm helping a friend upgrade her 3.1.2 3GS phone to iOS4 and i'm just trying to find out as much info as possible before i begin. she's currently running on T-mobile so her phone is def. unlocked but i don't see cydia installed. i'm wondering if her phone was factory unlocked, she received it in taiwan as a gift. if it is factory unlocked, does doing a straight upgrade to ios4 end up locking her phone, or should i use the same pwnage custom build i used for my att 3GS to upgrade to ios4?

I wish to ask - can I upgrade to IOS 4.0.2 using iTunes officially and have my phone work normal? I am not so interested in pushing in Cydia apps and free apps but I want the phone to work normally.If this is not the solution, then can you recommend, how it can be done?I tried using Jailbreakme.com from my Safari on my iPhone but it simply kept restarting my phone.
I upgraded my 3G to iOS 4 and jailbroke it the other day. Everything works fine except data — whenever I try using the internet over 3G, nothing happens. Every app I try is unable to connect to the web. Calls and SMS still work fine.Is there a way to either
a) revert to 3.1.2, or
b) get data working on iOS 4?
Ever since I upgraded to iOS4.0, my iphone 3GS has been losing its internet connection over 3G.The 3G indicator remains lit on the display, however when trying to surf or use an app that requires internet, it simply times out. In order to get my internet back I need to reboot the phone, or switch airplane mode on, then off.It seems to occur after I leave the house, so it may be that the phone is having trouble automatically switching from Wifi to 3G.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI received a Nokia 1520.3 that was swapped by Nokia service center yesterday. My old model was Nokia RM-938_Ita_Ita_905 which work fine expect white dots; the new model is Nokia RM-938_nam_canada_104.
The first thing I notice is that my new phone doesn't recognize the T-Mobile LTE, in the Setting, the maximum connection speed is only 3G which I used getting LTE. I also exchanged the SIM card in the T-Mobile store, still the same.
Another thing is, cannot update to Windows phone 8.1. I tried Hard reset, soft reset, use the Nokia Recovery Tool... still cannot get windows phone 8.1 update.
Is there a process for upgrading my Atrix if I don't have Windows? Presumably the Moto software is just a wrapper around adb.

I went ahead and approved it and it ended up being the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. The upgrade went smoothly. For some reason Windows Maps will not launch. This is also affecting the HERE app.

On my old 9700 handset I could choose to reply to an inbound email from an account other than the one to which it was sent. When I clicked on the drop-down at the top of the Reply screen, all three were offered as a choice. Now on my 9900 handset, it doesn't give me any choice, and only shows the account to which the email was sent, for replying from. Is there a setting to change this, to allow a choice?

Whenever I call a contact via Direct Connect, a menu will come up and ask "Remember this choice". If you check off the menu and then press the Direct Connect number that you wish to be associated with that contact, it doesn't remember the number that you selected. The next time you pull up that same contact to DC, you get the same menu, asking "Remember this choice".

It used to display a choice of "Widget Clock" or Webtop, and it no longer does. Maybe I clicked the don't ask again box last time? I do not remember, it's been a few weeks since I used the dock. Anyway I am SURE this is a simple setting somewhere, but I cannot, for the life of me, find it to turn the selection screen back on. I cleared the cache and settings, still no selection screen.
