So my iPhone 3GS headphones (with the mic and remote) stopped playing audio out of the right earbud. First I went into the Apple chat on the store page and the lady said that I should be able to set up the replacement online and she then gave me the link.
The page then asked for my serial number, what was broken, what part i needed etc. simply enough really. Anyways of course there was the $29 dollar hold on my credit card until they got the replacement back but that wont be a problem.
What I was surprised about was the fact that they would pay for priority overnight for just headphones. confirmed the request Wednesday 19th 2PM, replacement was delivered Thursday 20th at 11:18am.
Just reinforced how great apple support is in my opinion
Diane Campbell saved up, bit by bit, the $600 required to buy an Apple iPad, but when she showed up at the store with a wad of cash to buy the tablet, she found she was out of luck.Campbell recalls her visit to the Palo Alto Apple Store: "I had my cash in the backpack and I went up proudly to the counter and told them, 'I would like to purchase an iPad.'"Apple's sales policy states that the iPad must be purchased by credit or debit card, according to ABC News. No plastic means no tablet, and the Apple employee turned Campbell away."They said, 'Sorry, we don't take cash.' And, so I looked at her and I said OK she's kidding," Campbell tells ABC News.
Although Apple did not respond to ABC News' request for an explanation, Campbell was told by an Apple Store employee that the plastic-only policy is intended to cut down on piracy--customers who buy vast numbers of iPads, in order to sell them overseas. What's next Apple ? Criminal Background check ? Credit check ? Minimum bank balance required ? Employment verification ? Immigration Status check ?
On Saturday when I was charging my phone I noticed a burning smell and immediately ran over to my iphone and pulled out the charger cable which was glowing red and smoke was coming from both it and my iphone 4. My phone although slightly fire damaged in the charger dock was still operational, however, when the battery ran out and I tried to charge again on a different charger it would not recharge. I took my phone into the apple store (Toronto Eaton Centre, Canada) and received terrible customer service. The 'genius' took maybe 5 seconds to not listen to my complaint before running off with my phone and charger and then coming back with a new handset and cord and asking me to pay for the replacement. I have since spoken to the manager of the store who was equally unhelpful or concerned about the issue and informed me that he couldn't help because they have since lost my old handset in the apple warehouse system.
I am not only concerned that my current handset could now catch fire, but I am also concerned at the level of disinterest from a company about what is clearly a dangerous fault. What could have happened if I was asleep when it was charging?
As a consumer, this is my first apple product and I had been looking at buying a macbook very soon, however following this incident where I have been penalised through no fault of my own for using a dangerous handset. Then the total lack of concern, apology or interest demostrated by apple has put me off ever using apple products again. I would urge others to be very very careful when charging their handsets as this could have been a lot worse. If your phone is damaged certainly do not expect any support or assistance from Apple.
I have a prepaid phone from ATT and they said that the way that Apple sends data doesn't support the prepaid service. I was just wondering why they did that? If it was intentional?
Does anyone know any place that is selling an iPhone 4 case already that I can have delivered on or before June 24? I checked zagg.com and they already have a full body protection for the iPhone 4 but it looks like it doesn't cover the metal ring around it. Would like to protect it as soon as I received it. Or does anyone know if ATT or the Apple store will have them stocked with a case and screen protectors?
my iphone was stolen, I need to turn off imessage as I am using an android phone whilst waiting for iphone 5. I can text iphone users but no iphone user can text me as they go to imessage, my carrier (Vodafone) cannot help. I cannot see how to turn off imessage online and Apple telephone support?
http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/20...n-this-way.ars According to Ars. Check out the last paragraph. Here's the quote from the link on the Ars page. Looks like the guy was talking to Apple on the phone and they're sending him a new one. update on the reception issue from my buddy who has been hitting his head against the wall: Got off the phone with Apple. They're sending me a new one overnight. They said they're aware of the issue, and it has something to do with a missing protective coating on some of the parts. Hopefully it's not a bunch of baloney BTW, Apple has amazing support. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional. They really do take care of you. Every time, in my experience.
got message "iphone configuration utility failed locate apple mobile device support". Deinstalled everything and installed brand new itunes and config utility but error is staying. Found a solution thats about copying some dll's from 2010 - but still no success. Have spend half a day only to start a program Operating system is win7 32-bit I want to create some config files for my iphone, i don't even need direct device access on my Laptop.
considering that i've seen these support videos on Internet, it is silly that they don't work in the support app. should be a trivial thing for se to fix.
The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?
I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
Can anyone tell me whether the iPhone 4G supports 4G GSM? I know that it supports 3G GSM, but I am unsure whether 4G is part of the package.
I looked around a little, but couldn't find anything concrete. I have been given contradictory info by people I have spoken to, so any clarification will help.
Why iPhone 4 does not supprt Siri in iOS 6 since it can work well on iPhone 4??I've bought a iPhone4 on 05-2011, and it worked well now. Since iOS 6 will come out this autumn and I wanna to use Siri, but what a **** to say that iPhone 4 does not supprt Siri in iOS 6 since it can work well on iPhone 4. Should I throw away my iPhone 4 to dustbins and buy a new iPhone4S or iPhone 5 to use siri?
