Dec 22, 2011I just activated a Photon and I think I made a huge mistake. The email client only syncs 30 days' worth of email? There's no way to sync older messages? I don't keep much in my inbox but I do keep messages older than 30 days and I need to go back to them from time to time.I suppose the obvious workaround is to use a 3rd party mail program, but please let me know if there is a workaround. I was stunned to see this limitation.

Jun 26, 2011this is honestly the worst phone I have ever owned. I had a blackberry that about a month ago stopped getting about half the emails I should have gotten. After a month of talking with IT about this and trying all kinds of fixes I gave up and decided to get and android phone to bypass the blackberry servers I assumed were the culprit. Well I am going to return this phone tomorrow and use my blackberry again. Yes, after 5 days of trying ever possible setting I have given up. I had the emails working for about 5 minutes and then after setting up a gmail account they stopped. I did a reset on the phone thinking this would help. Nope. And today mysteriously my old gmail account showed up even though I never set it up. Google is evil. And this phone is a piece of crap.
One of the big problems with this phone are the additional security settings under the advanced settings for incoming and outgoing servers. Out of about 10 Motrola IT people I talked to on the phone or chatted with had no idea what these were. I kept asking if they were for SSL and no one knew. Then yesterday I was told by the only intelligent person they are an additional secruity password you can get from your ISP and are similar to SSL keys. I had them checked (the port numbers will automatically change) the first time I had the phone working. But unchecked them and was able to sent two emails to my own email address and yet received no other emails yesterday as a test. Today I tried to send myself another email and it didn't go through though it appeared on my desktop.

Feb 14, 2012Ive had the Blackberry Bold for 3 months--had no problem getting my personal email in the Messages Icon. 3 days ago, it stopped showing up there. I can only get to those emails by selecting "View Folder", then "Inbox"...I can then see all my email. However, if I close the Messages then and reopen, it shows my email as of 3 days ago.

Dec 18, 2013When I open an email attachment, such as an xls or pdf, I get a message saying the document/item has been stored in my phone's downloads folder. However, said folder does not seem to exist. I have something called Downloads in the app drawer, but those email attachments aren't in there. I frequently need quick access to these items when I'm out and away from my desktop, and I don't want to dig through a bunch of past emails to re-download the attachment.

Feb 1, 2010Ever since I downloaded the new OS I can no longer type, text, email properly. I use the full keyboard in both portrait and landscape view. The problem is that every time I type, the words constantly change themselves. They do not follow my command so they change. Before, If I was to type "dfsnfjns" it would stay as that. Now if I type that it will automatically change to a word that I did not want there such as "deafens", etc. In the keyboard settings, the auto correct feature is disabled. Can someone please help me fix my problem?

Thus, if one accidentally triggers two reload/refreshes in sequence (or has automatic mail downloads enabled) this causes the unread mails from (an) earlier refresh(es) to be silently deleted and to "disappear", before one has a chance to read them! May 21, 2012I am planning to buy my friend's recently purchased iPhone 4S. Since he was using it with his own AppleID for a month only, this 90 day limitation makes me wonder f I but it right now whether I could use it freely with my AppleID to be created new. I guess resetting it to factory settings and setting up as a new phone with a brand new AppleID should not cause any harm but I wanted to get expert opinion. I don't want to buy a phone and wait two more months to use it.
if this 90-day limitation goes away when I reset the device fully and set it up with new AppleID. I would expect no problem as none of the purchased apps/songs could be transferred from old account but still I am not sure and I need help.

Jun 1, 2012I have calendars that sync to my computer and calendars that sync to my icloud, calendar entries that i have set to the icloud calendar disappear after 30 days. Is there somewhere I can change this setting? I like to search my phone to find the last time "something" happened, usually something that I track in the calendar. I can't find how to retrieve these missing items back to my phone.
