If i get an iphone 4, i understand you get a new microSIM chip. but say i want to keep my whatever noniphone lying around as a backup for emergencies, will that old SIM card in that old phone still work? if yes, then does that also mean if i wanted to sell the iphone 4 on ebay, i would be ok? i'm wondering in case we upgrade everyone in the family plan, but not everyone wants an iphone.

I am trying to help a friend that has a 8350i from nextel Brazil. The problem is I can't get the sprint software to instal on it. I've even erased the entire operating system from it and used the BB desktop software to upload sprint's os, but it won't allow me. It only lets me restore up to the os nextel Brazil uses. He has a US Nextel sim card in it with the everything data plan. Phone and direct connect works fine but no data or email setup options.
Sprint store was of no help, they really can't do much since the serial number is from nextel Brazil. I guess my question would be, is there a way to bypass the bb desktop software to allow the installation of US nextel OS? or is it possible if he calls costumer service and get them to register the bb pin in his account he'll be able to set up email and data?
I am using my N900 for 1 month so far... However I can not use fMMS in my N900. I already have the latest version, but nothing so far...
I have looked at many types of configurations as well and noting...
I am in Brazil, Sao Paulo and I use Claro operator.
Does anyone know how to configure?
As someone who is planning on acquiring a 9800, it'd be nice to know if the 624mhz can be replaced with a more powerful one? It'd be nice to have the option from any kind of 3rd party if I am to enter a 2yr contract for this device. Thanks. I'm sure i'll be satisfied, but it's the latter half of the contract that I'm worried about as I'd expect RIM to produce more enticing things to come.

View 3 Replies View Relatedbeen looking at ios 4 gold master release reviews, either from Internet reviews or bigger tech news sites. it appears it's as snappy on the 3gs as the iphone 4 was when they got their hands on it at wwdc, which is slightly surprising. but then not so much.
i've been reading some info about this a4 chip, as i wondered why steve jobs didn't coin "1ghz cpu!" every other word like he did the ipad. my personal guess. down-clocked for battery performance. equally though i read that the a4 is actually based on the a8 cortex which the iphone 3gs already has, so it's almost to the point where it's just a custom version of that:

in the ipads case, it's just a stripped down a8 so from where i'm standing and what i've read. iphone 4 really isn't going to feature any sort of bump in speed over the 3gs, which is good i think for allot of people waiting for their upgrade date.
i'm personally letting the dust settle and until t-mobile uk bring out pay as you go options, which will see me get rid of my 3gs for the iphone 4.. but until that day arrives, i'm pretty chuffed that the only major upsides to the iphone 4 is new design, screen and camera.. and that we won't see any speed reduction.

I lost my iphone 5S unfortunately over the weekend and I was given a barely used iphone5 as a replacement.
I blocked my old phone through Optus and at the same time I had Optus give me a new sim card with my existing number, as so I could simply install the sim and then run a restore through iTunes back into my phone.
For some unknown reason, the iphone5 claims there is no sim installed?
