BB Torch 9800 :: Is It Possible To Replace Chip?
Aug 8, 2010As someone who is planning on acquiring a 9800, it'd be nice to know if the 624mhz can be replaced with a more powerful one? It'd be nice to have the option from any kind of 3rd party if I am to enter a 2yr contract for this device. Thanks. I'm sure i'll be satisfied, but it's the latter half of the contract that I'm worried about as I'd expect RIM to produce more enticing things to come.

Nov 1, 2012Does anyone know if development work on Swype is continuing? The last version released (albeit in Beta form) was v2.01(4435) but this is no longer compatible with Belle FP2 with the main issue being with the SMS conversation application as when you attempt to right a text message the entry field remains at the bottom of the screen and the keyboard covers this up so you cannot see what you have entered. If you revert to the Nokia FP2 keyboard the field moves above the keyboard as it should. Some of the other issues reported on other forums include: double-tap to select word not working backspace not working (or holding backspace for word delete) in some apps Left/Right arrow keys not working in some apps every word gets capitalized (rare) split-screen not working consistently multi-line input not available in some apps (could be down to the individual apps) input is sometimes right-aligned buttons along bottom (tick, left/right, options) are too small doesn't have text selection anchors like native Belle input Although I have not spotted all of these.

Apr 14, 2010I thought it would put the iphone to shame and although certain aspects of it are great, I can't help being let down by some parts. After waiting 2 months for the phone after preordering it in October it seems like things are moving slowly in the development of the phone, correct me if im wrong but there's no mms, no navigation on ovi maps, you can't use the latest PC suite and the biggest bugbear is no music store. Hopefully these things will become available in the not so distant future... maybe im just too impatient!

When connected to the computer I access the SD card, then the DCIM folder, but then it only shows a '.thumbnails' folder. When I open this folder it only shows 496 RAW files that I can't open. I have 1422 photos on my phone.
