I have an iphone 4 and made un upgrade to ios 5.1 yesterday, and so far that was a big mistake. My phone started to overheat terribly - when I am using or charging it, and also the battery drains way too fast and it takes ages to charge it. I have tried restoring and hard reset, but nothing changes. I have searched the forum, but most people are having problems with battery drain, not the overheating.. I don't know what could be the cause of that and what do I do to get my normal phone back!
I had my phone since April 2015 and never had any problems until 3 days ago. When my phone is not using wireless internet (like when I leave my house) and it switches to Mobile Data (4G) it overheats in a matter of minutes and battery starts draining super fast.
I tried the same thing at home, when im using wireless, everything is perfect, no overheating when playing games or using apps and battery life is normal, but when I turn off wireless, the battery drained by 10% in just 2 minutes and the temperature got uncomfortably hot it hurts to even hold the phone.
I have tried Factory Reset like many suggested but that didn't work, it's still causing the same problem. I dont even know why it started doing this, it was fine for 8 months and it's not like I installed anything new lately.
i have my xperia for about 8months now. when i insert my battery the fone will heat up and drain the battery till its dead in less than a hour. when i put it on charge it does the same thing. some guy i spoke to said it could be that the IC is missing.
My first Sony phone and its been great. until a few days ago.
I charge my phone overnight, every other day due to the lovely battery life.
But a couple times now, I have woken up to a dead phone. And being late due to no alarm!
I changed chargers and leads and no change.
Last night, I woke at 2am to my phone going nuts, kept notifying me of the charger being plugged in, then out, then in, then out, over and over again and buzzing at same time and would not respond to my input.
Eventually the screen went blank, vibrating continued until I thnk it just ran out of power!
As soon as I play a game, no matter how much battery life I have, the phone overheats and then says battery low and shuts down immediately. As soon as I turn in back on afterwards, battery life is still fine but doesn't change though I use the phone till phone cools down. It suddenly started to happen, I didn't update or did anything suspicious.
Just got a 9320 3g and it sucks the battery life is pathetic and it continually heats up even when not in use. I have searched everywhere and there seems to be no solution, also there are 100's of users reporting the same issues but blackberry seems to dodge the subject and offer pre designed answers. Surely you can admit if there is a manufacturing issue and offer a proper solution instead of dodging the issue. Deeply dissapointed with this phone, and yes its on the latest os all apps are closed etc etc etc. stop tellling us this resolves the issue AND OWN UP TO THIS **bleep** YOU PRODUCED. Looking forward to a resolution else its off to every website i can find to log complaints and the istore
My new phone overheats when charging, as does the charger and the battery has a life of 24-36 hrs with minimum usage - calls and sms only.Phone has been replaced yet i have the same problem with 2nd phone.
Got my Cyan 920 on Friday. Immediately had overheating issue while syncing email during first setup. Got super hot at the top, battery drained very quickly. I had turned on Nokia Drive Beta + for just a minute to check it out then didn't use it again. No more heat or battery issues until tonight when I plugged it into my computer to move some video files onto my computer through the file explorer. Phone got very hot at the top and actually started losing battery life even though it showed to be charging (plugged into my laptop). I did not have any apps running intensive processes or syncing/uploading going. I turned off background services for Nokia Drive Beta + (though I hadn't opened it since that initial opening to check it out) then I turned it off and back on and it stopped the overheating and it began to cool. But then I couldn't connect to phone or internet services even though it showed 4 bars of LTE. Turned it off and on again and everything seemed to be working fine, then it began heating up again. Just removed it from my laptop and it is now plugged into the wall charger that came in the phone box (USB). This is unacceptable for a new phone. I had been using a Black Nokia Lumia 900 for several months before upgrading and using Nokia Drive frequently.
I have a SGSII which went for a little swim a few weeks back. It fell into a sink full of water but could have only been in there for a second. Phone was working when I pulled it out and I swiftly pulled out the battery and set about drying it.The phone eventually started up but these are my problems
1. The phone massively overheats as soon as you put the battery in. It doesnt even have to be switched on. Part of the motherboard is seriously overheating. If you look at the back of the phone, on the right hand side, about 2 thirds of the way down, this seems to be where the heat is coming from. I have to pull the battery after about a minute in fear of meltdown.
2. I charged the battery in a friend's phone and when I tried switching on, it fires up fine (apart from the same overheat problem) but it tells me to connect the battery charger and shows the battery as being almost drained when I know this is not the case. Everything seems to be there such as messages and all media.
3. The clock says its 0:00 and the date is 1 January. Im not sure whether this is because the battery has been out for so long or because it's fried.
Im tempted to send it off to samsung to have a look at even if it is outside of the warranty. I'd rather spend a bit of money getting it fixed rather than flog it on ebay. However, I was wondering whether anyone had any thoughts of suggestions as to what might be causing the overheat and whether it is worth trying to get repaired.
My phone is slow and overheats then the battery drains super fast. i also seem to have a problem with the google playstore. I can't log in as its giving me the error feedback...
i am new to the android phones. i have the flipout and even though i was exited about it my battery lasts about half a day and it is allways really hot
I have a Iphone 3g that is unlocked and jailbroken running 3.0.1. For some reason once or twice a month my phone will say it has signal but nothing can be done on the phone that has to do with the mobile network. This is why I feel as if i should upgrade. Hopefully it will solve this issue, because getting signal to come back takes, a couple hard restarts and usually syncing with my mac.
I have watched some videos online that say that i can go into cydia and download blackra1n install the source and it will unlock it but i'm pretty sure that is after you update the OS to 3.1.2. Can someone shine some light on this for me?
upgrading from 1.1.3. I want to upgrade to the new software version but then it would need to be jail broken again is this possible is it even advisable .
I am new to this and I know the phone is old but I don't see myself buying a new i phone I just want to be able to add some more applications.
I have a desktop running win xp and phone version software is 1.1.3. model number a1203
I have been using a 3GS iOS 5.1 backed up to iTunes. (some data also on iCloud)I bought a brand new 4S and it was all going so well until .. "The backup cannot be restored to this [iOS device] because the software on the [iOS device] is too old."

Looks like the iPhone was shipped with iOS 5.0 after 5.1 was available. Irritating. Really irritating. So I set the 4S up as new phone, updated to iOS 5.0 and now have a shiny new 4S iOS 5.1with no data that is merrily syncing an empty phone with iTunes and iCloud and I still have a beaten up 3GS iOS 5.1 with all my info on it.I have a backup of the old phone but I don't know how to get that onto the new phone. I've tried iTunes/summary/restore which sets of an 803MB download - that's still going but I'm thinking I may have the same problem again.
I have an iPhone 4 running 4.2.1. I would like to upgrade to iOS 5 but don't have access to a computer. I read something about FOTA. Does that mean I can upgrade to iOS 5 without a computer?
I just upgraded phones from a 3GS to a 4S on AT&T. I was using the 4S for a day before I backed up everything from my old phone to the new one. On the new phone BEFORE the backup I could use visual voicemail and siri understood me.
Now after I have backed up everything from my oldphone to the new one, visual voicemail is gone (and it's asking for a password to check voicemail, I don't know I had a password), and Siri doesn't understand the same things.
I am having a problems with my iPhone 3GS, its slow unresponsive and the some of pixels on the screen, seem to have burnt out! No doubt they will have to give me a replacement, is there any chance that they will replace it for the 4? Rather than giving me another 3GS?
i have just upgraded my iphone 4 to IOS 5.1 and since then no one can hear me during phone calls, i thought may be the mic went down, but it works fine during voice notes and vid recording!
I have a iphone3g and i try to upgrade but now im stuck with the code error 1015. It shows to connect to iTunes but everytime i try it shows same error.
I recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to IOS 5. Now I am having trouble activating it as it's telling me that the SIM card is not supported and won't proceed with the activation process. I also tried connecting it to iTunes but got the same error message. 1. How can I restore it to its previous IOS so I can use it again? or 2. What should I do to complete the activation so I can begin using it with the new IOS?
I recently got my sister's 'old' iPhone 3GS after she upgraded to an iPhone 4. What I'd like to know is, can an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.2.1 be upgraded to iOS 5.0? If so, how do I do this (step-by-step) without losing any of the apps she had installed on the phone <note: the iTunes on my iMac's not allowing me to transfer her apps (things she purchased) because she purchased them - I don't really want to lose them, but if I can't avoid it, then, I'll just deal with it>
On the same note, I have a friend with an iPhone 3G; he claims he used to have a 4G card in it, but inadvertently locked himself out of the PUC card and forgot the password. is his phone upgradeable from iOS 3.x.x to iOS 5.0?
We started upgrading this morning and 3+ hours later it hasn't move. The iphone is on the apple icon with a sliver of the progress bar filled and it's not moving. Itunes is frozen on the Updating iPhone Software, again with only a sliver of the progress bar moving
First, what can we do to get it moving?
Second, we are actually going away for the weekend and not sure what we can do. Can we disconnect the phone and just restore it?.
