My iPhone 4 just went completely black. It had 74% battery, dropped a call, I tried calling back, then unplugged it from car charger and then it went completely dead. Holding down lock button on top doesn't do anything. Plugging in to Mac doesn't do anything.

My 20 month old son picked up my father's brand new (2 weeks old) iphone 5S, and 5 minutes later we see he has somehow turned the screen completely black and white. No color remains. It is not the grayscale or the invert color options. He had just upgraded to iOS 8.1.1. How this happened? And how to get the color back?

My iPhone 4 is completely destroyed. I can't get a new one at the moment and am using an old android until then.Â
In order to receive any messages from iPhone users via my spare android I need to turn off iMessage. Can't turn off iMessage via iPhone because screen is completely black.Â
my iphone 5s died to the point where it turned off so i went to charge it and the only thing it did was show the sign to connect your charger. i thought my charger was broken so i went and bought a new one and when i went to plug the new one in my phone doesnt do anything and the screen stays completely black.

My phone is on, as I can hear calls and texts coming through. But the screen is completely black. I've tried the reset, hard reset, restore mentioned in the support section, but nothing comes on the screen...not even the little apple logo that usually pops up, It is fully charged.

My screen is completely black. The keys at the very bottom light up (between the “htc”). When is not connected shows the green blinking light, when connected for charging the light is red but the screen remains black either way. Calls go direct to voice mail. It is charged. Tried turning off and on, but no change just the T-Mobile sound and sometimes a small vibration. Phone was working fine in the morning; the alarm app works fine, had to use the HTC flashlight but didn’t work. Took a photo, and the flashlight did work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Galaxy S5 and the other night somebody knocked it out of my hand...it took quite a thud to the floor and since then, the screen is completely black. The phone still turns on and the bottom 2 lights are working and it rings when people call etc. I can't answer the phone though so I'm assuming the touch screen has broken. what I'm worried about is loosing all my pictures. Because the phone has a pattern lock on it, when I plug it into a computer it says that there are no files. If i send it off for repair will they clear the phone? I'm thinking if they just replace the screen then I still get to keep everything but assume they will still clear it?

View 4 Replies View Relatedtoday my X10 black running on android 2.1 firmware suddenly dead. I was on a call and suddenly the touchscreen is not responding at all. I can not get it to silde to unlock or what so ever. I've tried take out the battery to turn it off and switch it back on. I've also tired to connect it with my computer with the sony software to repair it. But none of those work. The touch screen seems to respond once after i touch it thirty or forthy times. But still i have no way to silde to unlock the phone. Is that means my phone is brick or just the touch screen is broken
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere is a constant green light on, the keyboard lights up, I can still answer the phone by guessing where to press on the touch screen, but the screen won't show anything.
View 5 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden, after my dinner this evening, my S6 edge was completely unresponsive.
pressing the power button for 7+ seconds, as per Samsung, did not work at all. totally black screen, no response. pressing the volume DOWN button, power button, and the home button, also to no avail. on the other hand, while on the phone to TMobile's customer service to report this non-functional brand new phone,
i was continuing to press the abovementioned buttons frantically. well, while i was talking to TMobile via my landline, the phone eventually booted up. this was VERY haphazard. The only thing i recall reading about this was to press the power button for 7 seconds, which Samsung had said was the equivalent of pulling out the battery.
right. that's bogus. that did nothing for me. yet, by pressing the volume up or down button PLUS the power button PLUS the home button,
i don't know exactly which combination eventually worked, as i was trying various permutations, eventually, the phone booted up. this does not give me confidence in this phone.
What eventually i did to make this phone boot up eventually. all i did was to be on the phone with TMobile and press the power button plus the volume up or down button, plus the home button, and eventually, it rebooted and came back to life.
I have a blackberry torch and when I slide the screen up it has a completely blank black screen, but when i slide it down it works fine.

I am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads. What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
I would like to be able to turn off apps when i'm done using it without having to open the multitask bar and turning off the app there.
Is there an easier way to turn off an app completely?

i am in my house so am therefore connected to wifi, it even says connected to wifi, the 3g is up and i usually have 3 - 5 bars. my carrier has just been topped up and it still doesnt work. whenever i go onto the internet it says "safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost". if i go to Internet it says "cannot connect to Internet" and my texting apps (i.e., whatsapp) just say connecting and cut out for ages. this problem occurred yesterday in the morning and i did some things like turned off and on cellular data and it started working again. later it cut out again for longer and i fixed it after a while now it has cut out and it hasn't come back since. i have tried resetting network settings and i have tried taking out sim and putting it back in.

This might be an old wives tale, but I heard a long time ago its better to let your electronics completely die before charging them, is this true?
View 24 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 4 is completely blank. I can't do a hard reset on it. It is charged and when I plug it into the charger, nothing happens. Before the screen went blank the apple symbol appeared with lines through it, then the phone stopped working.

I have noticed when I scrolled down the app list in a category. It's always the Free category section where I download my apps. As I scroll down it would showed that I have installed an app that I have deleted alreadt but when I went to check the summary of the app, the button that said 'free' went to the 'install.' Yet I have never clicked on it. It's a minor issue, I didn't redownload it. However, when I went to the Updates -> Purchased -> All sections. It has shown all the apps I have installed on my iPhone including the ones I have deleted but they have the iCloud icon instead of the 'installed' status. I tried looking up previous threads to see if there is a solution of competely getting rid of the old data apps off my phone. I tried to check if any old apps are on my iTunes but it only shows my current installed apps that I didn't delete.
