upgraded to iOS4 and no multitasking, home wallpaper options or rotate lockscreen info.
I like that we can finally put wallpaper on the home screen, but I still would like themes without jailbreaking.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi had multitasking before ios4, i used backgrounder.when ios4 came out i unjailbroke because steve told us all how much more efficient his multitasking was. my main problem is that now when i close an app, it doesn't actually close. yes i know this is so i can multitask, but why do i want to multitask every single app i open! i end up with loads of apps "open" and my phone runs slow, every few days i notice the slow, either when an app tells me i am running out of memory, or when i unlock my phone it takes a bit longer to load the unlock screen.i then have to close all my apps which usually freezes for a few seconds while closing them all.now i can just about manage this, but my mum and dad (both owners of iphones) and happy with apples usual simple approach find it a little complicated when and how to close the apps that they have opened (i just tell them when it gets slow, restart it).
solution?:
backgrounder i have to say, worked better.when i clicked home, my app closed (gone! no memory), and lets say i was in trails and wanted to switch to my music, i just held the home button and that's it, backgrounding was activated, and only trails was taking up my memory, not some game from 2 days ago, or Internet, or the odd utility app, etc. anyone else either have this problem, or think that apple should update their multitasking feature.
when i doublepress the home button and the multitasking drawer opens up, it appears to be empty. i can tell this is a problem because when i use sbsettings and check the running processes, i see many apps are still running. at the very least i should see ipod controls in the drawer.this wasnt always the case, i know that right when i finished jailbreaking (before i synced all my apps over itunes) i did see ipod controls and sms in the drawer (those were the only 2 apps i tried before doing that initial sync). i then synced over any apps i had but failed to install anything that was from installous (depending on appsync). that was expected. i think (not sure really) that when the official apps loaded i was still able to have apps appear in the multitasking drawer. i think installed aptbackup from cydia and tried to restore all. i manually chose installous and appsync 4.0 from cydia because i noticed that they didnt install after the restore all. i then synced again with itunes. now i got all my installous apps back on the phone. this is when i checked the multitasking drawer again and i didnt have any icons! so i am going to assume its one of the cydia packages thats giving me this issue. i was hoping someone here might have a clue as to which package might cause this. i got a list of all my packages i am sharing below:

edit: i just noticed that the package for appsync31 looks like its still installed which is probably a bad thing. when i go through cydia it is not installed, this is the output of dpkg so i trust that this is accurate. any idea of how to remove that package without cydia?
edit 2: now i'm not really sure what is going on with that package, i am trying to use dpkg to remove it but this is what i get when i try to find out the status of that package
code:
**********-iphone:~ root# dpkg -s us.hackulo.appsync31
package: us.hackulo.appsync31
status: install ok not-installed
After updating to 4.3 my lockscreen wallpaper changed to the same as my home screen wallpaper. Okay, no bigge, I'll just change it back - or so I thought. There has to be a simple solution that doesn't involve changing the launcher or something similar, right?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
may i know how to change the lock screen wallpaper without changing the main screen wallpaper?and without using 3rd party app.if must using 3rd party apps to do it, which apps is suitable for changing lock screen wallpaper beside GO locker?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I've been tooling around with iOS4, and unfortunately one of the features I use the most appears to be missing. You can't customize the behavior of the home button anymore in Settings, and as such you can't set it to do things like open phone favorites, open the camera or open the iPod controls. This is kind of a downer since I used to use the double-tap for phone favorites all the time.
I know that previous reports about iOS4 said you could double-tap and hold to bring up phone favorites but that's not working anymore, it seems.
- Holding the home button brings up voice control.
- Double-tapping brings up the multitasking/recent apps bar along the bottom.
- Double-tapping and holding does nothing.
- Triple-tapping does nothing.
- Triple-tapping and holding brings up voice control.
Whatever picture I set the wallpaper to I can only get a wallpaper on the home screen, but not on the lock screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then when I turn off the screen and turn it back on, the lock screen wallpaper I had set is gone and it goes back to the generic black.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhas Apple given users with the 3G the ability to change the home screen wallpaper.

I used a picture for my Wallpaper (my lock screen), then deleted it. How can I get a copy of that picture saved in my album again?

Those controls were VERY helpful to me and i find it very annoying to double click-->swipe left-->then gain access to controls
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not sure this is the right place to ask on GM iOS4, I would like to upgrade Gold Master iOS4 to mine 3GS right now and when it released the official firmware for public on 21st June, would I have any problem to upgrade from GM version?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWas just wondering what the best way to upgrade from the iOS4 GM to the official iOS4 release. Would I be better off doing a backup of my iOS4, restoring my iPhone to iPhone OS 3 and then going back to the official iOS4 or do you think we will be able to straight from the GM to the official version of iOS 4. Or is the iOS4 GM identical to the official iOS 4 release?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI've done a few searches but couldn't find anything. Is there a way to have a different wallpaper on the lock screen and the home screen?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 and I have tried changing the lock screen wallpaper using the common method described (ie. tapping on a spot on homescreen and clicking set wallpaper for). The problem is, when I do that, it does not give me the option of homescreen/lockscreen, but says "select wallpaper from" (options: gallary, live wallpapers, wallpapers). When I choose from pics in my gallary, it automatically sets it as homescreen wallpaper (no option for lockscreen).
The only time it works for the lockscreen is when it's in the "wallpaper" folder (the one with preset Samsung wallpapers). I've tried looking for this folder to add pictures to it, but I can't seem to locate the folder. So, where this folder is located or better yet, know of another way in which to set the wallpaper for the lockscreen from the gallery or other folders?
i just want to ask regarding how to put a background wallpaper on the phone's lockscreen, i have been reading symbian belle's features, and it says that there is one like that, but i cant seem to know/find how to do it..also the lockscreen notifications, how to put that??

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have many apps frozen and I have tried unfreezing many of them one at a time to try and set multiple lock screen wallpapers but every time I hit Done after selecting the wallpapers, I get a message saying "App not installed".
If I only choose one wallpaper, I can change it just fine, but multiple wallpaper selection doesn't work. Which app controls the lock screen multiple wallpaper selection?
First thing on the to do list with any of my new phones is new wallpapers!
Home screen wallpaper changed just fine...but..
If I switch the unlock wallpaper to anything other than a default image, its insanely dark when turning the screen on.
So all of the pre-installed lock screen wallpapers come up in full color when you unlock the device. Now when I set up my own lock screen wallpaper it basically fades to the background and is very dark and almost black. The clock and camera, phone icons are bright like normal. Is this the way it's suppose to be? Do I maybe need to move the wallpaper I want to use to where the lock screen wallpapers are?
