View 9 Replieswhat's the most reliable, trustworthy, not awkward way to hide the soft keys on an app by app basis without making anything laggy or weird? I used to have it on cyanogenmod on previous phones but with the nexus I'd rather stay on stock ROM
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe capacitive buttons are garbage in my opinion and I constantly accidentally hit them. Not to mention they are backwards. I would like to disable them completely and enable the soft buttons like on the Nexus 5. Is this possible?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure what I did, but now I have two onscreen buttons for zoom (Z- and Z+).URL...I'd like to turn them off, but I can't figure out how.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am loving my 6P, but I almost drop it all the time trying to reach across the screen and hit the back button while holding the phone one handed.
I think this wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem if I could move the back button to the far right position (this is where I had it on my G3 and it was soo much more comfortable to use).
Are there any root/non-root/modifications I can use to rearrange the buttons?
I have the bootloader unlocked and would happily root if it would enable the ability to move the buttons
I know Xposed add-ons will add this functionality eventually, but that could be at least a few weeks/months away.
I have tried apple and samsung headphones that have volume controls on the headphone wire and both of them pause audio play back if you try to turn the volume up or down. I tried this in Google Music and Beyond Podcast and same issue. If I press volume up then playback pauses.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor about two months now I've had an app stuck in recents, and no matter what I do it won't go away. It's basically a website I opened from a google search. I've deleted and reinstalled Google Now, the phone has been upgraded from 5.1 to 5.1.1 in between, restarting, nothing seems to do the trick. I've been googling the problem without success so far.
Here's a screenshot: [URL] ....
Nexus 5, stock 5.1.1 ....
How to modify the recents app view, I want it to be Horizontal and Full size app Cards (just like iOS 9 :P ). So, I have done this in the past, kitkat , jb etc, but not in lollipop or marshmallow.... I've decompiled the systemUI.apk and I don't see any way to do it. I really want to do this !!

View 8 Replies View RelatedTitanium backup won't back up my apps/data claiming insufficient space when I have 46GB left. I'm on Chroma ROM, not the most up to date one though.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I was running screwd ROM with elementalX kernel. Everything was working great but I'm a long time DU user. Went to their G+ page flashed ROM. I had issues with it so I wiped and restored my backup of screwd ROM through TWRP. The first go around I selected to restore all partitions. It got stuck on the boot logo. Booted back into recovery and restored android again. This time I unchecked the vendor image box and restored the rest of the partitions. Worked like a charm.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got my N6P International set, with nanosim.
Every once in a while, when I'm surfing the net, facebook etc. my data would just drop from LTE to "No Service" and stays there for 15 or so seconds before jumping back up.
I have tried going back to stock/locked bootloader, tested with another sim card and yet the issue occurs.
Using my sim card on another phone shows no drop in signal.. if I should RMA my device. Currently back to 6.0.1 Chroma.
Its getting really frustrating in the last 10 mins to drop over 3 times.
I've noticed when recording a video and I focus on something close the focusing noise comes through when playing the video back. When I move away from the object I can hear the camera ree focus but the buzzing is not loud. The refocusing noise is only loud when I focus on something close.

Or can you put for always having the brightness all the way on high?
Currently flashing back to stock with the steps given by Heisenberg's step by step guide, number 11, how to flash the factory image.
At the command fastboot flash system C:anglerimagessystem.img and it has sat here for over an hour and a half now with the output of writing 'system'. If I'm not mistaken, my phone is basically bricked at this point, as all I have written to the phone right now is recovery and bootloader really, and since I flashed the stock bootloader that means it is relocked.
Is there any way I can unlock it from here and then flash TWRP again, and then restore one of my backups of my 6P to at least get it working again?
I am on Ex Kernel, and I want to go stock again, and how can I control the focus of the camera? Its really hard to focus something small, the camera focuses the background only in some photos...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just received my Nexus and one of the first things I tested on it was the video playback on the AMOLED Screen. One Strange thing I noticed is that while playing any video in MX player (or any player for that matter), if the decoder is the default HW decoder, there is a backlight bleed like in LCD screens and the video doesn't run on an all black background which is really annoying. If I switch the decoder to SW, then its all black like it should be on AMOLED screens.
I'm attaching two screenshots which show the difference.

MY Nexus 5 suffered a battery failure recently. I have managed to replace that and all good with respect to that. However, since then I am unable to get my phone to recognise the SIM. The SIM was working fine but now I can't connect to my network (Tesco), It seems to recognise the SIM as it states - "No Service - Tesco" in the status panel at the top of the screen. The phone is well out of warranty and was bought directly from CarphoneWarehouse.
I've tried my wife's micro SIM in the Nexus and no luck there either. Further, I've tried my SIM in another old phone and it works fine. Finally, I've resorted to having a new SIM sent out by Tesco and tried that .... and still no luck.
I've tried a factory reset a few times and inserted the SIM with the phone switched off ....
How can I disable soft keys backlight without power saving? Is no longer in the settings of the Galaxy s6.
View 10 Replies View RelatedJust wondering, does anybody find on the s2 that the soft back key doesn't always respond? I'm sometimes having to tap mine several times before it responds and it's driving me bonkers.
Also, I have noticed that the android os is high on this phone and the strange thing is, the percentage seems to go up when the phone isn't actually being used for anything, as in, sat idle for a few hours. Just wondering what the average percentage should actually be with this phone.
My battery life is rubbish too. Thursday and Friday, it was fine but I didn't use the phone much at all. Today it was fine until 6pm, again, didn't really use the phone but this evening, I have been texting and it dropped 40% in three hours and I've had to put it on charge.
I'm not happy with this and will be contacting Samsung on Monday but before I do, would be interested to hear what other people are experiencing with the android os and back key. Battery life is more or less irrelevant as that varies from person to person according to usage. I'm just disappointed as I seldom had to charge my galaxy s before bedtime unless I tethered, which I hadn't done today until I had to put the phone on charge.
The text messaging app gone missing after a soft reset. This on windows 10 build 10536. There was lots of apps in the store listed error and could not install, so I did a soft reset. Everything is backed on and few app still could install with error code.
The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.
Nexus on bootloop tried every method ,most of them . Flashing new factory image is also of no good. Cleared cache , factory reset and still on bootloop. On flashing lollipop factory image it gets stuck on boot loop and on flashing KitKat factory image or using any custom ROM like cyanogenmod it gets through boot but is unable to detect sim and apps like play store and camera keep crashing and refuses to open.
