Huawei Nexus 6P :: Clean Install Of ROM Or Wipe SD Card
Jan 1, 2016
I want to do a complete re install of pure nexus ROM and elemental because I believe I have some issues mainly on my SD card so want to wipe this also. What's the steps to do so? I only have my work laptop also so can't adb anything. Do I just download ROM etc put on laptop, wipe all on phone, then transfer ROM, gapps etc back to phone then reboot to recovery and go from there?
So it doesn't look like you can actually delete the guest profile... yet it takes up a bit over 29 megs on my phone. If I go in there and just uninstall and delete everything I can, will that impact my normal profile?
I don't use profiles so just trying to max out my storage space.
So yesterday I installed CM13 on my phone and I had some problems so I wanted to revert to stock rom. I had a backup made with TWRP, so I installed it but TWRP crashed when doing so, so I tried it again but this time I wiped everything (internal storage aswell...), which was a bad idea, because it deleted my backup aswell (didn't think of that).
After that I downloaded the 6.0.1 (MMB29M) Stock image from the Google Developers site, rebooted into bootloader and tried using the flash-all script to flash the stock rom (I put all the files into the plattform-tools folder). But when flashing Radio, etc. it showed that it wasn't possible because of an unknown error and then it said that boot.sig or so was missing. After that the script crashed.
Now here I am with no data on my phone and I don't know how to flash anything (trying sideload with TWRP doesn't work aswell because it says that my device is offline). How can I get the script to work ?
I am on a stock rooted Nexus 5 (with TWRP). I want to install a custom rom; however, I would like to do a clean install of the custom rom (making sure no files/settings of my previous installations are left if that makes sense). What's the best way to go about this? Does it mean I have to install both the custom rom and the recovery again in order to do a clean install?
I have this issue and have spent the last 2 days trying to fix it to no avail. I'm wanting to start a fresh to resolve it which means wiping internal storage of music/photos etc. One question though, what's the best way of doing this to them install a fresh ROM?
I've got a 32gb 3GS, which is jailbroken. It's version 3.1.2 with a modem firmware of 05.11.07It's been jailbroken with Blackra1n but not unlocked (no need).. I've got a new phone now and would like to sell this as a jailbroken phone. Is there a method I can use to clean the phone of all my data but not lose the jailbreak?
My phone was stolen out of my bag, it was dead. So he/she had chearged and posted a picture on one of my social media accounts basically taunting me?Â
I bought a new one so I have that cleared up and I am not worried about that, but I have a GREAT deal of passwords and important information on there, just hoping there is another way to erase all said personal information from my phone. Like many others, my request to erase is still pending, is that just because they have not connected to wifi? And if he/she goes weeks without accessing wifi does this mean he/she can see all personal information on there?
Just got my Gold nexus 6p yesterday and i cant install apks that are not from the play store and even if i try to send them via bluetooth it doesn't work. I'm bootloader unlocked, twrp installed, rooted (systemless root) and decrypted and also "unknown sources" is turned on in settings. I cant install some app cos of this.
how do I flash the OTA update on my phone? When I try to do it via the phone (notification tray), it gives me an error after the attempted flash.I assume I need to download the OTA somewhere and sideload it. Where can I get it? My current build number is MMB29M..I assume I just flash the system.img from the latest factory image?
So, last night I was messing around with some custom roms, and tried installing CM, I accidentally installed CM recovery as the boot img, and tried to backup from my backup file that I created via TWRP.
Now, when restoring i get into a bootloop, i think, and if I'm trying to install a custom ROM i either get a status 7 error or it can mount /system. I tried going into the Mount tab in TWRP and checking the system check-box, but it won't let me.
I left my phone on over night and it downloaded a January security update. I'm on systemless root, is this thing safe to install? Here's a screen I took.
I have rooted and installed TWRP in my nexus 6p and now I have received the OTA update but I can't install it. How can I install it without losing my data?
How can I do a clean install of the OS? I'm trying with the Desktop Software but it gives me the option to update also the applications that are already in the phone, and I just wanted the OS
I did a clean install/set-up-as-new to iOS 4.0 GM on my 3GS last night and, upon launching Skype for the first time, got the message that they only support it on unmodified versions of 3.0, 3.1, etc. that I was used to seeing when the phone was JB'n. Did this message come up merely because I'm running OS 4.0, and Skype is planning to release an updated version to coincide with the public release of OS 4.0, or is there some truth to remnants of JB or old Skype plist files persisting through a clean restore?
I have a few apps I've paid subscriptions too (ForeFlight, MobiTV, etc.) but I plan on doing a clean install of iOS 4 when I get my iPhone 4. Is there any way I can retain those subscriptions on a new install?
I've been speaking to AT&T reps for days now about this issue, and today one of them told me something different which hasn't been considered on these forums. It's probably nothing, but for those of you who are having really slow/spotty 3G browsing speeds even with 5 full bars of 3G, did you guys restore your iPhone 4 from a back up or did you set it up as a new iPhone? i don't know if there is any kind of relation between this and the issue, but it doesn't hurt to speculate. I myself have restored from a backup and I am experiencing this issue hardcore. The AT&T rep recommended that I restore the phone and set it up as a new iPhone. Is anyone who set up as a new phone also having this issue?
I bought HTC Desire HD invisible-shield and installed it , but when i was installing it i didn't saw that there was dust on it now invisibleshield is instaled and under it yuo can see dust So can I remove invisible-shield, clean screen and install it again? I installed it yesterday .
I used BBSAK to wipe my BB Strom 9530. I installed an OS for storm on my system. But when I run the loader it says that the files are not compatible with thte device. Mine is an unlocked BB Storm that I had bought in India. It was company unlocked.
I thought I would take this as the perfect chance to do a full wipe/reset/re-install of Android and and everything on the deivce as I'm sure it shouldn't freeze and be as slow as it is at times. What is the best way to do a full backup of the device (in case things go wrong)? What is the best way to wipe/reset my phone and completely re-install the latest available OS for it?
Nexus 5 taken a while to wipe cache partition? It takes a good minute or 2 on the nexus 5 but on the nexus 4 it takes 2 seconds. Both are running Android 4.4.2 the nexus 5 and the nexus 4.
it takes about 5 - 10 minutes to perform a wipe from Recovery, where in Lollipop and before, it was a few seconds. A couple of websites have corroborated this.what's changed in 6.0 that a cache wipe takes so long? I'm on an unrooted N5 and performed a clean factory flash (and re-locked the bootloader).
Code: mkfs -t ext4 /dev/[device] to Code: rm -rf /cache/*
Or something, I mean, even formatting a heavily encrypted partition shouldn't take that long (especially one as small as /cache).
I needed to complete a wipe device last night which i have done, didnt bother playing with the phone after, gone to make a call this morning to find out that it has deleted all my numbers from both my directory and my sim card directory. should this of happened?
I desperately need more storage on this phone.. The only way I have found to gain extra storage is to have root and use StickMount. I have a lot of info and game saves that I don't want to lose to a data wipe though. Is there a safe root method on stock 5.1.1 that doesn't wipe data?
