May 30, 2012My Outlook stores multiple contacts for the same person automatically (one with an email address only, one with a phone number only, etc.). When my iPhone syncs with the cloud it stores those multiple contacts and makes it frustrating to look up one person's number and email under separate entries. How do I prevent my iPhone from storing the duplicate contacts?

Apr 15, 2012I use a IPhone, IPod touch, and a core 2 duo old mac pro with OSX 10.5 witch is not compatible with icloud. I don't have enough for a new computer at this time. I needed to add some new cadigorys "leads" and "clients" for my business with I did not add be for terning on Icloud,When I added them on a computer with OS x.5 it worned me it may duplicate them and I could not see a other way to add the needed cadigorys.The Ipod/Iphone dont let me edit contact cadigorys. So now all my contacts are duplicated I need to find a way to solve this fast with out buying stuff.

Mar 21, 2012I've been having problems with duplicated contacts for ages, probably because I sometimes sync with mobileme and sometimes with iTunes. Some contact names have a person's name with a massive list of random email addresses and other names started popping up which were wrong. I downloaded an app called DeleteQ to remove the duplicates and now it's gone completely nuts. The wrong names are popping up all over the place when people call and text. People's details are all jumbled up.
It's got a phone number that's repeated for hundreds of email addresses. My address book on my mac has similar problems, but I think it's in a much better state than my phone, but it's hard to tell. I've tried replacing my phone contacts with my computer address book contacts, but I think that's led to more duplication. I don't intend to move to iCloud until Lion improves with a decent update, which I'm mentioning in case anyone here recommends moving to iCloud.

Jan 13, 2010Every morning when I wake up, my new Storm 2 had duplicated all of its contacts, sometime there is up to 30 of the same contact. I am new to BB in general, and this is driving me crazy! I have google sync running from my google contacts. It has even gone as far as erasing some of my contacts.
My BB handset is now more accurate then my contact list on my desktop. All the other threads have me resetting my handheld, but that is something that I can not do as it is the most accurate now.
Is there a program where I can download all of my contacts to desktop and save them there, and then upload the ones I want back? BTW, for the last 5 days at least I have manually deleted over 400 contacts, this is pretty time consuming! GRR

May 15, 2012I have recently upgraded to the i phone 4S. I have restored from my back up on my Macbook. When I put in all my details to set up my e-mail exchange account all the contacts are deleted. I have tried a few times and ensured that the box's next to contacts calenders and reminders are not checked ( so they don't sync) but it is all still deleted. It seems I can have either my e-mail working or my contacts installed and that can't be right.

May 18, 2012I got my computer stolen from me a couple months ago so I had to start new with all of my music. I transfered all of my music on my phone to my computer. Since I did this..all of the music I transfered went into my Library and the Recently Added playlist. I only want to sync the songs in the library and not the playlist. I tried to uncheck all of the songs in the playlist so they wouldn't sync and only the ones in the library, but when I uncheck the songs in the playlist they also uncheck in the library. Consequently, when I tried to sync my phone..it only synced 811 out of 848 songs. So I went and shortened the amount of songs that were allowed to be in the Recently Added playlist and tried to sync it then. And it synced 829 songs this time, the only difference is all of the songs on my iPhone 4s are duplicated now.

And keep duplicating every time the app updates the library! Now it's #12! Feels like the magician in "Fantasy" Disney's movie!

Jul 7, 2011I go through the contact list and there are addresses for people I never heard of or emailed. Then my Yahoo mail was hacked after I noticed this. It seems the phone takes all the people in my address book and does a google search or facebook search and it will actually add a photo of the person (which I do not want) and it will not let me delete these new mysterious entries?All VErizon said was I have to make sure contact sync in unchecked in the phone which is it but in Gmail there is no place to unsync contacts. I don't use Facebook, Twitter, or any other socila media site and I want my privacy protected.This is a huge issue because I had a stalker and it cost me a great deal of time and money getting restraining orders and moving from place to place while being located every time.
This is dangerous for me and the phone will not turn off my GPS or stop adding these people in my contacts that may have been on a website I visited. That's the only way I can figure this happened and the Yahoo mail got hacked at the same time.I don't know what elese to do, the phone is locked, the credential password is very hard to remember much less guess and everything is off. No GPS< no sync with anything accept the calendar via Gmail which I made sure is set to PRIVATE.My Gmail profile is also PRIVATE. If I logged in on a PC it will ask do you want to make your profile public so people can find you?
I don't see what type of FILTER I'm suppose to add in my Gmail account to stop this contact sync? Or contact list that grows and grows while I have done nothing.Weirder yet the Verizon rep said it happens when you connect the phone to a PC, that's why she said I need this filter to stop contacts from being added.
