What can I do with my new iPhone 3GS so my contacts on my phone aren't duplicated? Guy at the Apple store told me to NOT check the boxes under iTunes/Info which I didn't, but the are still duplicated.

I use a IPhone, IPod touch, and a core 2 duo old mac pro with OSX 10.5 witch is not compatible with icloud. I don't have enough for a new computer at this time. I needed to add some new cadigorys "leads" and "clients" for my business with I did not add be for terning on Icloud,When I added them on a computer with OS x.5 it worned me it may duplicate them and I could not see a other way to add the needed cadigorys.The Ipod/Iphone dont let me edit contact cadigorys. So now all my contacts are duplicated I need to find a way to solve this fast with out buying stuff.

I bought two iphones yesterday and was putting in my contacts. When I saved each one on my phone, the contact saved on my partners new phone too. Obviously we have different contacts and don't want each others. Is there something I need to turn off or change to stop this happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with duplicated contacts for ages, probably because I sometimes sync with mobileme and sometimes with iTunes. Some contact names have a person's name with a massive list of random email addresses and other names started popping up which were wrong. I downloaded an app called DeleteQ to remove the duplicates and now it's gone completely nuts. The wrong names are popping up all over the place when people call and text. People's details are all jumbled up.
It's got a phone number that's repeated for hundreds of email addresses. My address book on my mac has similar problems, but I think it's in a much better state than my phone, but it's hard to tell. I've tried replacing my phone contacts with my computer address book contacts, but I think that's led to more duplication. I don't intend to move to iCloud until Lion improves with a decent update, which I'm mentioning in case anyone here recommends moving to iCloud.

I synch my adresses via icloud with my windows-outlook 2007. After changig an adress in outlook I sometines get a additional copy of it in my iPhone. And when I delete one of them, it is deleted completely in outlook and then in my iPhone too. I looked for this app of fico21soft but it is rated very badly and the translation is embarassing. My Outlook stores multiple contacts for the same person automatically (one with an email address only, one with a phone number only, etc.). When my iPhone syncs with the cloud it stores those multiple contacts and makes it frustrating to look up one person's number and email under separate entries. How do I prevent my iPhone from storing the duplicate contacts?

Every time I add a new contact or edit a contact, an exact duplicate is created. If I delete one, they both disappear.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery morning when I wake up, my new Storm 2 had duplicated all of its contacts, sometime there is up to 30 of the same contact. I am new to BB in general, and this is driving me crazy! I have google sync running from my google contacts. It has even gone as far as erasing some of my contacts.
My BB handset is now more accurate then my contact list on my desktop. All the other threads have me resetting my handheld, but that is something that I can not do as it is the most accurate now.
Is there a program where I can download all of my contacts to desktop and save them there, and then upload the ones I want back? BTW, for the last 5 days at least I have manually deleted over 400 contacts, this is pretty time consuming! GRR
I recently synced my bberry with outlook, and now I have duplicate birthdays listed for all my contacts. My phone is also synced with two email accounts, one of which is the account used by outlook. The other email account has no birthdays and no contacts. The phone is also synced with Facebook.

Contacts are auto-sync and now I have the same contact twice although in the "setting" "setup" I have untick the sync contact box I just do not understand why does that happen. I got my computer stolen from me a couple months ago so I had to start new with all of my music. I transfered all of my music on my phone to my computer. Since I did this..all of the music I transfered went into my Library and the Recently Added playlist. I only want to sync the songs in the library and not the playlist. I tried to uncheck all of the songs in the playlist so they wouldn't sync and only the ones in the library, but when I uncheck the songs in the playlist they also uncheck in the library. Consequently, when I tried to sync my phone..it only synced 811 out of 848 songs. So I went and shortened the amount of songs that were allowed to be in the Recently Added playlist and tried to sync it then. And it synced 829 songs this time, the only difference is all of the songs on my iPhone 4s are duplicated now.

After creating a new album, all the photo in it get duplicated, once in the app iphoto.
And keep duplicating every time the app updates the library! Now it's #12! Feels like the magician in "Fantasy" Disney's movie!
Note: luckily they are duplicated just in the app iphoto, not in the default image app.

Since I updated my iphone 4 with the software for iphone 4s my ical on my imac won't synch with my iphone calendar. Also events are duplicated. I have to check both calendars to ensure I don't miss any events and have to physically re enter them separately into the different calendars.

I can select to delete them both, but only the one with the icon actually deletes, the other is just "stuck" if I click the icon nothing really happens.

I just shifted from iPhone to galaxy5, i transferred all the data via smart-switch. And I also tried Dropbox in new galaxy s5, all the photos are doubled. one is original and other one's are duplicate (few Kb's). I had around 900 photos from iPhone to new galaxy s5, but in Dropbox- total photos are around 1700. Is there anyway I can delete duplicate one's easily.
secondly, drop-box setting is "sync via WI-fi". even if i don't click any new picture or video, its still backing up every-time. at one point it says" up to date" after few hours it syncing again.
I'm using native music app on honeycomb 3.0.1. I noticed some of my albums are duplicated on the list (but not on the filesystem, I checked using a file manager).What is strange is that the first copy have some music and the second copy have the other music missing on the first copy. I checked to see if it was a problem with the ID3 tag but aparently it is not. I even used DroID3 tag editor to autoedit ALL music from a given folder but after it finishes editing tags, the album is still duplicated with exactly the same songs on each copy. DroID3 renames the files, so apparently it is not a problem with the filename.I even cleared the Music App's cache after autoediting tags but it didn't solve the problem. I also noticed any music app that uses the index to list music have the same problem, so I don't think its a problem with the native music app.
