HTC Wildfire :: Unlocking Bootloader On S With ROM V2.26.401.3
Jul 17, 2012
I am trying to root my HTC Wildfire S and have been looking around a bit. The first step, so I found, is to unlock the bootloader. This is supposed to be easy: just use the RUUprogramme that can be found on htcdev.com. The problem is that all the versions of the RUU there require a LOWER version of the ROM. I have 2.26.401.3; no RUU seems to be working with this.
i want to unlock Sony Ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms But i m worried about warranty issue...Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty?
About 3 years ago i bought an HTC M7. And yesterday i tried to unlock the bootloader for the first time using HTCdev and all went well. I also managed to install CWM at that time. When i tried installing a custom marshmallow rom i received several errors and decided i wanted to revert back. So i relocked the bootloader but now i have no os installed and if i try unlocking the bootloader again i get stuck on white screen with htc logo and purple letter at top entering recovery... After this screen i have to wait for the battery to die before i can do anything with the phone again (stuck)
I have tried flashing a different recovery file but i keep getting remote: signature verify fail. Without unlocking bootloader i cannot get anything to work. I have no working mobile phone atm.
I been looking into unlocking my bootloader on my z3 (so i can get updates quicker), however on different threads I keep reading that DRM apps such track id or remote play will not function, is this true?
The main reason I brought my z3 (over an Iphone/samsung s6) was due to remote play.
that Moto continues to support the Photon, with ICS in development for Q4. However, there are community developers that could have a fully-complete, stable ICS build ready in a matter of WEEKS if Moto were kind enough to unlock our bootloader and provide us with a few updated drivers.Would it not be good customer service to provide users with this? Would it not improve customer loyalty? I am a big fan of Motorola devices, but I can see why people are being driven away by their locked-down nature. I implore you, Motorola, to please provide an official unlock tool and make available updated driver libraries and/or source code.
I have purchased a S6 from Amazon, but the device is branded with Swisscom, with an awful boot logo and sound, and a few specific apps. I'm waiting for a nano sim, so for now I don't know if the phone is also simlocked.
I intend anyway to install custom roms, so I don't care much about this, however I can't find out whether the bootloader is locked or not (in which case, I'll have to send it back to Amazon I guess).
The device is a SM-920F, I made the OTA update to 5.1.1 upon powering it. Not sure what the bootloader and rom exact versions are, but I will add them to the post if necessary.
Will rooting my nexus 5 without unlocking the boot-loader void my t mobile warranty? My Phone is an LG Nexus 5 running the latest Version of lollipop and the only reason i want to root it is to be able to connect my ps3 controller to it and play emulators or minecraft...
confirm if my phone would 'brick' or not if I used official Sony software to repair...I used the online service Da Vinci to unlock my bootloader...so if I use SEUS or PC Companion now...will it brick? How do I relock bootloader safely if I need to repair via SEUS? Would it be better for me to relock the bootloader then unlock properly via Sony? I did pay for the Da Vinci service, so I'm not in a rush to make a mistake! I'm planning ahead for the ICS update and just in case I want to reverse to 2.3.
Do you think it may be possible that we can get root access without unlocking the bootloader - I'm a little reluctant to unlock the bootloader because of the QFuse blowing.
I can capture a pic using the camera but when i try to capture a video using the camcorder ...it just beeps and then nothing happens..nothing is recorded ...am i doing something wrong.
I have a contract with T-Mobile that has 'unlimited internet access' and I have a Wildfire. I was hoping to use this to enable me to access the internet on a netbook and it seems like the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot function would do the trick. However, when I tried this I get on to a T-Mobile page that is then asking me for more money and it seems that T-Mobile can detect that it is a different device than the phone trying to access the internet.
I bought a Wildfire S a year ago. It was all good until a month ago, when the phone started restaring on its own. At first it used to restart once a day or so.. But of-late the frequency has increased, it keeps doing it every few hours. I tried solving the issue by hard reseting the phone. After which it was fine for a few days and now it has started again.
Considering buying one of these, either this or the ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco in UK). The Orange San Francisco is cheaper and has a bigger screen with more resolution, but the Wildfire looks more solid. Can I put 2.2 or 2.3 on it though?
When I go to Menu > Settings > SD & phone storage > Make more space > All applications > Move apps to SD card <<< it says "nothing to Move" to "Move to SD card" and it says "Application (30/150MB)Some applications has been moved to SD card, some has not! How can I move everything to SD card? My SD card is 32GB and there are way lots of space!
I was on a bike ride 5 days ago, and had my phone with me, and realized it was on red and had only 11% charge left. I then got home and realized it had turned of because it had ran out of charge, so as usual, put in on charge, however no orange light lit up, and it wouldn't turn on or charge. I have tried 2 different HTC chargers and none of them work.
One would think that 512 MB of ROM is plenty when you're not that a heavy app downloader. I have a dozen of relatively small apps on my phone memory (which can't be moved to SD card).
Now I was wondering if some of you Wildfire users might have some info on other stuff which takes up ROM memory and can be cleaned up.
I have been unable to send text messages off and on for a week now. I have followed all instructions from HTC and my provider Tmobile. I did a total factory reset and this did not work but for some bizare reason after a couple of days my phone started sending messages, unfortunately this only worked for 2 days!! The only thing I can think that may affect my phone is I dowloaded Skype
If I'm expecting an important call (so don't want to turn the phone off) then how can I wipe fingerprints off the display without accidentally touching some button that does things I don't want right now?
I came across this conundrum when I tried to clean the smudge over the "End Call" button.
I've recently bought a new htc wildfire s and i compared the internal storage with the one written on the box.. theres a pretty big difference: i have 150 mb and on the box says it should be 512 mb.
my phone will not let me go on to the android market. even if i go on to the internet on my laptop and press install on any application it just comes up on my phone Attention a network error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen.
I've set my ringtone but can't seem to be able to set an MP3 as my notification sound when I recieve an sms. I can find the list of built in sounds but how do I set up my own sounds?
Touch is getting stuck sometimes and wont work. Sometimes it automatically selects applications without selection. When a incoming call comes it gets stuck and iam unable to take the call.
