I have reset the led notification color to green (from white) in the WhatsApp settings but I am still not getting a blinking light notification when I receive a WhatsApp message.
View 8 RepliesSince installation of WhatsApp on my (recently purchased) Nexus 5, when vibration setting is set to "default" in application, the phone does not vibrate on receipt of a new WhatsApp message, even while system settings are set to "Vibrate when Ringing".
It vibrates though when the WhatsApp vibration settings are set to 'Short' or 'Long'
So basically, the "default" mode in vibration settings of WhatsApp is not ruled by the system settings, rather follows the rule - Vibrate when the phone is set on silent, and do not vibrate when ringing is enabled.
Is this how it is supposed to work? Because as per my read around I got an impression that default mode is to govern the app notification as per system setting. Am I missing something?
So, after a few minutes (10-20 mins) when someone sends me a message on whatsapp or bbm or Facebook messenger etc... the phone doesn't receive the message until i enter the app (whatsapp, bbm, fbmessenger etc).
I don't know what to do. I don'w know if this is a problem after I made an update last week or smth.
I do not want this yelllow bubble with the number 8 to show up whenever I receive messages. How can I hide it or at least lock whatsapp so that only I can use it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of getting a new phone now since my screen is broken but before I do, I have got many important messages on WhatsApp so I have been wondering if it's possible and how to restore them all to the new phone? Does the "App data and settings restore" feature in the Backup & reset setting of the phone will do the trick? Or do I have to do the manual way which is locate the chat history file in the WhatsApp folder, copy it to my laptop and then paste it later in my newly phone?

Power saving is off, app optimization for WhatsApp is on default setting (can't change it because it is a system app), and data is running properly. All other apps do push notifications just fine. Running 5.1.1 COI9 build.

Only when I open what'sapp application, the messages loads...I don't receive any messages untill I open the app itself. Have tried everything.. My phone is not on stamina /ultra stamina mode. Que background data is also turned app. Also notifications setting for what's app is on. Still can't get over this issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I got a problem with my LG G4. I was in a whatsapp conversation, when my screen freezed. I couldn't click anywhere and couldn't go to the homescreen or lock the screen. A few moments later my screen went black.
Since then I can't start my phone. When I remove my battery and insert it 5 minutes later back into the phone, I can start the phone, I see the LG logo, but after that, my screen goes black again, so it's turned off automatically. When I try to start my phone again, it doesnt work. It only works when I remove the battery for a few minutes first.
I already tried to boot the phone in recovery mode, which didnt work either. I see the LG logo and after that the screen turns black again.
About 2 months ago my phone fell in water for a few moments. I instantly removed the battery and put the phone in a container with rice for 48 hours. After this the phone worked as it did before again.
I synced my google account and all my google contacts popped up on the people app and did the same with my hotmail account.
Now when I try to refresh my contacts in Watsapp I see nothing, but most of my contacts use watsapp. And when I recieve a contact over watsapp from a friend of mine and when I try to save it, the people app asks me where do I want to save my contact in which account (hotmail or google)? is it normal? Cause I am not able to save it on phone directly and I guess watsapp wouldn't take the contacts that are stored in a account, it has to be on phone.
So how can I get all my contacts into watsapp?

I am using this phone from past 1 year and i am so happy with my device that it works so perfectly which i can brag about and i love all the updates from sony and i do update on the very first day.
But today this so shocking first time after today's system update my Notification panel is behaving worst it just scrolls down no matter what i am doing. Even while typing this it just come scrolling down,but while doing other things it is very upsetting.
I even immediately restarted by nothing new.
On the S6 when you get a notification on WhatsApp for example, the notification blocks the whole notification bar and stays there for an annoyingly long time So until the bar goes away you can't swipe down the notification bar.
What settings would I need to change in order to fix this? Maybe stop it blocking the whole notification bar every time I get a message. Sometimes I get more than one message in a row so it will be there for a long time.

View 24 Replies View Relatedwhenever I send a text, a notification pops up for less than a second and then goes away so quickly that I was having trouble even seeing what it was. I finally got a good enough look at it to go through my app list and find what was causing it, which turned out to be the "Usage" app. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's supposed to happen, but I figured I would come here and see just to be sure and see if there is a way I can make it stop. The "allow notifications" check box is checked and grayed out, so I can't change it.

I have noticed that recently I've been getting notifications for Facebook that popup/show up at the top of the screen below the notification bar (a la Apple's iOS). It pisses me off, as it'll happen when I'm in games (covering up 1/4 of the screen) and it'll even show up when I'm in Facebook!

I do not want my text message notification to sound during phone calls--it is distracting, exceptionally loud in my ear, I have tried all different types of settings, to no avail. how to stop this?
Also, my text message notification sounds when the message comes in, and then sounds again, when I unlock to the phone to retrieve the message. I don't want it to sound twice--once is enough.
