HTC One M7 :: Stock Music App Lag Since Lollipop - Time Elapsed?
Sep 11, 2015
where every time I listen to music and have the display off, the counter that should increment the time elapsed by 1 second just freezes?I play a track, turn off the display, 3 minutes later I turn it on and it only shows like 1 minute of the song has elapsed.
I'm using the stock MUSIC App/Widget ... I have the phone connected via Bluetooth to a portable speaker. It will play for a while (like 20-30 mins) and suddenly just stop playing. I check the APP on the phone & I press the PLAY button and in continues just fine - almost like STOP was pressed. I don't have any settings for turning it off after a certain time. This seems to happen intermittently on either of the Bluetooth accessories I pair with the phone. (Headphones or Speaker).
I'm missing something but since my Lollipop upgrade, the stock camera app will capture pics but won't let me review them. After I snap a picture, I have to leave the camera app then open the "Photos" app to review them.
I just notice it today when I'm switching between app. At the same volume Google play music sound louder than the HTC music player without losing sound quality.
Every time I unlock wake the screen up using the side lock button, i get a notification saying it is searching for GPS - Why does it do this every time? I havent moved locations and I'm also connected to wifi so I don't feel it is necessary to constantly check the GPS position
I just bought this device, love it so far. When I use a Google Voice command like, "play Madonna", it defaults to Sound Picker and doesn't play any songs. I noticed Music app is not even listed as a choice. See pic.
Is there a way to have the stock Music app as one of the choices instead of Sound Picker?
My situation is the base player was working fine for my needs. I had some music by the band "Kix". I added a song by a different band called "The Kix", and after uploading, all the "Kix" songs had been changed to "The Kix".
In trying to change the name of "Kix" back to the way it should be (no "The"), I have:
1) Copied all music from SD to Laptop. 2) Using Laptop, I went into the Properties of each song, updating and verifying all had the correct Title, Album Artist, Contributing Artist, and Genre. - including deleting the song from "The Kix" so there wouldn't be any confusion within the program. 3) Deleted the existing Music folder from the LG 4) After deleting the folder from the LG, I then copied the folder with updated information from my laptop back to the LG.
I expected that the new data would take, and that "Kix" would return, along with some other updates I had made. When I looked at the stock music player, I saw that most of the data changes (available through the Details option after a long press on the song) took, but for some reason "Kix" is still displaying as "The Kix".
I also noticed I couldn't use my old Playlist names, making me think that there are cookies/files (or the like) stored somewhere on the phone, and that data is still being accessed.
I then tried MediaMonkey, but that made things even worse when it imported the playlist and songs (duplicate songs, songs with wrong artist or album title, songs with lost data), and I'll be spending more time correcting their import errors than anything.
I recently bought an HTC One M9 and am generally pretty happy with it, except for the way it handles music files.
The stock music player displays downloaded amazon files with their full (tagged?) titles, e.g.
B00LVIQY6O_(disc_1)_02_-_Archie,_Marry_Me
if I amend the title it the phone claims it can't find the track *at all*.
It also claims that it cannot find some downloaded tracks from amazon *at all*. Yesterday I renamed one track (it disappeared from the phone's half-arsed gaze), moved the 'correctly' (see above) named track from the SD card to the internal drive and back again. Stock music player (and Google music player) couldn't locate it. So I deleted all copies and redownloaded to the SD card. Still bugger all. However, it could find this version on the internal drive so ... go figure.
I suppose the main questions are:
1) Why can't the phone's stock music player find all my downloaded tracks when they're located on the SD card? It's frankly hit and miss.
2) Why do both music players pitch a fit when I try to rename 'ugly' titled songs?
I haven't had any issues with my Verizon Galaxy s5 until after updating to Lollipop 5.0. The default/pre-installed music player crashes very often. It won't start playing until pressing play a number of times, once it finally does play it will stop after the song has finished, if I try to skip a song it will usually crash once I hit the skip button but if I get lucky it will let me skip 4 or 5 songs before giving me the "Unfortunately, Music has stopped" error message.
It does crash sometimes mid song. I'm not sure what the issue is, as I said I haven't had a problem like this before updating. I will also randomly get an error message saying that Contacts has stopped working, which I have seen others report happening, but I haven't seen anything about the music player crashing. I have a 128GB sd card but I don't think that's the issue. Everything has worked fine until this update. Attached is a screenshot of the blank music player after I receive the error message ...
Have had my HTC One since last September. Never had any issues until today. No matter what music app I'm using, even Google play, the music will stop playing. It happens on different songs and with different headphones. The headphones icon still shows stays up. So the plug is good. But I have to keep unlocking my phone and restart the app. It's like every app closes. I'm running all stock. Never rooted. I restarted my phone. It worked for a few minutes but started up again.
Also noticed when you lose Internet connection a phrase down on the bottom of the screen pops up that says "yikes you lost Internet connection" I've never seen this before. Especially using the word "yikes" seems odd to me. I'm was on my home screen when it happened.
So i transferred my whole music library to S6 and happily listened to it via the stock music player. Then much later when I had downloaded some new apps and edited settings, I returned to the music player to see that all my songs had vanished. I still have them on the memory and Poweramp can still find them, but not the stock music player?
My s5's stock music app keeps on crashing when trying to go to other section and I am stuck at playlists. I tried to clear data but it didnt work. Can it be fixed without factory reset?
i'm posting this because someone else posted about it but the subject wasn't precise. on our iphone 4 with 5.1.1 there is no replay or shuffle icon. i just checked my daughter's ipod touch 4g with 5.1.1 and the icons are there. is anyone else missing the icons on their iphone?
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iPhone 4 iOS 5.1
I've had this phone for about a week now and being more comfortable with it I'm using more features and have an issue with the music app and widget. It wont play all my music. The app will play each song individually when manually selected but when on the song list is plays one to two songs after in order then jumps to the songs listed under "I" and repeats that segment (the songs that title starts with I) instead of staying in order, it has also done this with "M" once, have tried clearing cashe and data of the app with no change in result. Has anyone else had this problem (P.S. I'ma give up saying I wont by Motorola anymore, had the perfect chance to switch over when I signed the contract for 4G service and... bought Moto, just the brand me and my family have used as long as I can remember)
When playing a song I get a white notification block saying:
"Music temporarily unavailable. Couldn't play the stream you requested" DONE
Been having this error on/off for a month now. Sometimes it works on wi-fi but not on cell, most of the times not at all.
Right now at home I can play from my other devices (win7-pc, chromecast, Nexus10) without problems. I can browse music fine on the phone and play moview works fine - so the account is not the problem.
All hits I've had searching gave just different settings to try with caching, dl'ing etc. They are to no avail. Tried all combinations.
What happen to being able to stream movies or music from a networked PC with stock app like "My File"? I have a Note Pro 12.2 that can browse media files stored on a media server PC over wifi using the "My Files" app. I am aware that there are other apps in the Play Store that accomplish the same thing and probably do it better.
Just wondering if I am missing some thing or did they remove the feature in Lollipop.
Any one found a way (w/o rooting) to disable the stock music player? I discovered PowerAmp a while back while using my D1. It was rooted so it was easy to disable those apps that I didn't want to ever start. Now, that I have upgraded to the Bionic, I can't play/pause or forward/back using the volume buttons nor my BT headset without it starting the stock player.
Has anyone had any issues with the music player skipping about 30 seconds into any songs? Not just once but a few times while using. I run 25 to 30 miles a week and the music player is really getting annoying! I've tried 4 different sets of headphones and it's definitely not the headphones themselves maybe something internal. Also on my second phone here. The first one started randomly resetting itself, also had skipping issues. This one only has the skipping issues so far.
I have a few Vietnamese song albums with album names, song names and singers are all in Vietnamese characters (unicode fonts). These albums have no problem showing it correct Vietnamese characters when played by Google Play Music app on my HTC M8 (running stock Android 6.0).
However, when I transferred these albums to my new Nexus 6P, names of the albums, songs and singers are not displayed correctly. Some, or all, characters are "replaced" by some strange characters (looks like Chinese, Koreans... characters). This causes one album now become a number of different albums (sharing the same album cover, but different names due to its album names are now spelled differently. Same problem happens if you sort by singers (one singer now becomes more than one). PS. English song albums are not affected by this.
After updating my S5 to lollipop, the music player controls on my lock screen are no longer visible. I have to unlock my phone every time in order to skip songs and pause/play.
Is anyone experiencing major lag in the stock gingerbread music player? Changing songs takes forever and it constantly force closes. It's been like this since the update.I do not want to use any third party music player apps.
Before the sense update, I was able to change my songs etc. by flicking the music app up if I was already listening to music without inputting my password. Is there a way to do it now too? I know u can add the page in the lock screen that shows ur music player but its not as convenient as what I want.
I noticed after updating to IOS 5.1 that whenever I play music - it is on "shuffle" all the time - whether the shuffle button is actually enabled or not. Also, touching the skip track skips around, skipping ahead 2-4 songs, or back 2-4 songs - as if it's on shuffle all the time.
I deleted all music from the iPhone, checked my playlist that I sync to the iPhone, and resync'ed all the music - same problem.
