View 2 RepliesI read somewhere that Google is rolling out the new feature, so I guess my G4 just hasn't received it yet. Why why there can be a difference when the Google Maps have identical version numbers.
My VZW Galaxy Note 5 and VZW LG G4 have identical Google Maps version: 9.17.1 (#917101224)
However, the Note 5 was able to start using true offline maps/navigation/search while in airplane mode since yesterday.(provided that I downloaded the offline for the city first)
How do I send directions from Google Maps on my computer to my nexus 5?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know what happened but Google maps and Google now think I am on the other side of the country. I am in Ohio and it is showing my location as in a neighborhood in Salt Lake city, Utah. I have turned location, WiFi and GPS on and off. Also I have turned the phone on and off. I am on T-Mobile and my other phones location is correct.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm seriously contemplating upgrading my LG G3 to an iPhone 5S. The reason is, I use my phone a lot for navigation, and unfortunately it seems that Androids just aren't up to the task, although, it could just be this particular model. Ironically, my old iPhone 4 would never overheat, even when I used Google Maps for several hours. However, every time I use Google Maps for just a couple of minutes on the LG G3, my phone overheats and then shuts down. I took it to the Verizon Store, where they told me it was a software issue, and they told me that they fixed the problem, but right afterward, I tried using it to navigate again, and it still continued to overheat. What should I do?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have not had occasion to seek directions for travel using my Nexus 5 before. Today I needed directions and used Google Maps for no more than 5 minutes. The device became very hot. After I shut down the directions I looked at the battery information on the app battery notifier BT free. It said discharging, temp/health 118F/overheat. I was taken by surprise. Should I have expected that much heat from using Google Maps directions for such a short time?

View 4 Replies View RelatedHave issues with the compass not pointing in the right direction using Google Maps and any compass app? I went to the AT&T store and tried the LG G4 here in NYC and it was off by 90deg. I tried using the iPhone 6 which was pointing correctly. I am a LG G2 owner and its been frustrating having a compass that doesn't work properly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince Maps 9.2, Google maps integrated voice commands into navigation. So you can ask "are we there yet" or make a call. When I press the mic button during navigation, voice gallery pops up.

I've noticed that the volume that google maps navigation runs at, is incredibly low considering how capable the HTC One is.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am getting used to my s6. Sometimes I am driving and there could be an accident and I need to try and grab my phone and put it in the phone holder in my car then navigate to google maps to find an alternate route by hand. I am wondering if I could make this easier by doing some of this with my voice. I know it is possible to search a specific place after pressing the voice icon manually after launching google maps, but is there a way so I can just put the phone in the car holder then use my voice to launch maps and say what my destination is?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get into the car, I sometimes plug the S5 into my car stereo's aux input via a 3.5mm audio cable. I can play anything just fine(streaming music or MP3/FLAC/WAV files stored on the phone). When I'm listening to the car stereo itself(CD, FM/AM, etc), I usually leave the phone plugged in. If I want to use Google Maps voice navigation, I'll have to physically disconnect the 3.5m audio cable if I want to hear the voice navigation on my phone. (again, this is when I'm only playing a CD on the car stereo)Is there a way to get around this so that I don't have to plug/unplug in the aux input cable all the time?

After phone and software updates I now have no spoken street names in Google Maps, I only have generic "turn left" or "turn right".
I have checked and language strings are set to English US for voice output.
I am running 5.0 on my GS5 with Google Maps 9.8.1, TTS enabled, US English, etc... (everything that I can think of) and when navigating, no street names are ever spoken. Only "Turn left", etc...
I'd like my street names back.
I purchased an Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 on Amazon in March to use with AT&T. Since I purchased the phone I've been having continued issues with the GPS specifically when using Google Maps and Waze for GPS directions. The location services works fine for every other app, including Swarm/Foursquare, Weather and Facebook...there are no issues finding my location for these applications.
When using Waze: I will always get the "No GPS. Showing approximate location." error every time I attempt to use the app.
When using Google Maps: The phone does not track along with my progress through the turn-by-turn navigation. The GPS will follow me along the route, but the application will not provide the turn-by-turn updates as I progress along the route (it will stay stuck on the first step of the trip throughout).
I've already attempted to clear data, clear cache and force stop the apps several times, I've used the GPS Status app to download GPS assistance data as well as using it to reset the GPS cache. The application is unable to find GPS location, no matter how long I leave it running and regardless of whether I'm sitting outdoors on a completely clear sky or indoors, there's no luck with the app.
This really starting to get on my nerves, and I'm considering just doing a factory reset of the phone in the hopes that doing so will reset the GPS as well (I'm assuming I must have done something along the way during the set-up when I first started up the phone).
I'll use my GS6 as my GPS and while driving, the screen will rotate 180 degrees. I'm now looking at an upside down map. It's done this with Waze and Google Maps. After a while it'll do the same thing and flip back to rightside up. If I don't, I'll have to rotate the screen back to potrait mode before rotating it back to landscape. I've done some research on Google and haven't found any results, only that the GS6 Edge had a rotation problem, but it doesn't seem related. None of my other apps mimic this behavior.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was using Google maps today and its showing my location 5 km from my home when I'm sitting at home! I've tried hi accuracy mode in the settings, wiped the cache, ininstalled maps. All without success. Even Google earth is reporting the wrong location. what I can do to resolve it? Factory reset? How good a job does the restore feature on the pc version of smart switch do at restoring the phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis was working very nicely on the iPhone. I'd setup a route via Google maps, and go. While driving a call would come in, I answer it. The phone screen is displayed.
Because the phone screen is displayed Google maps notifies me of an upcoming navigation instruction. It also auto mutes it's navigation voice so as to not disturb the phone call.
Google maps will also display the same notifications in the lock screen on IOS.
This is much the same as Android dropping down the phone controls when you're in a different app and an incoming call comes in.
How do you delete a location in the saved places folder in Google Maps?

I can't use the navigation system on google maps on my Samsung Galaxy S5. All it has is a double arrow like this >> and then a route preview.
