Is it possible to delete stock android apps? I use Google hangouts for texting now, and I want to delete the stock messaging app. For now I'm just hiding it, also unchecked marked all it's settings. For some reason when I un-hide it, my messages from hangouts will be in the stock messages app.

I've gone into the App menu under settings and disabled a few, but some don't have that option. Is there any easy way to get rid of these unwanted apps?

I try to sync the phone to the desktop all of the old apps that are on the laptop are deleted and vice versa.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave had my HTC One since last September. Never had any issues until today. No matter what music app I'm using, even Google play, the music will stop playing. It happens on different songs and with different headphones. The headphones icon still shows stays up. So the plug is good. But I have to keep unlocking my phone and restart the app. It's like every app closes. I'm running all stock. Never rooted. I restarted my phone. It worked for a few minutes but started up again.
Also noticed when you lose Internet connection a phrase down on the bottom of the screen pops up that says "yikes you lost Internet connection" I've never seen this before. Especially using the word "yikes" seems odd to me. I'm was on my home screen when it happened.
Just recently after selecting stock apps like messaging, internet, etc. instead of opening the app an add and a quick flash to Google Play takes place. I use Avast and it found no problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for about a week now and being more comfortable with it I'm using more features and have an issue with the music app and widget. It wont play all my music. The app will play each song individually when manually selected but when on the song list is plays one to two songs after in order then jumps to the songs listed under "I" and repeats that segment (the songs that title starts with I) instead of staying in order, it has also done this with "M" once, have tried clearing cashe and data of the app with no change in result. Has anyone else had this problem (P.S. I'ma give up saying I wont by Motorola anymore, had the perfect chance to switch over when I signed the contract for 4G service and... bought Moto, just the brand me and my family have used as long as I can remember)
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am currently running PureNexus and I do like it quite a bit. However, with Android Pay only working on systemless root (which is full of bugs) I am thinking about going back to stock.
My question is, can I install the stock rom, root, remove bloat system apps that I don't want, and unroot?
Any way for me to stay on PureNexus and keep Android Pay working that would be ideal as I am getting fantastic battery life. I am a light to moderate user and I usually have 50-60% battery left at the end of the day.
I know how to delete an app, but I want to know how to remove the icon also? I want it completely gone off of my phone like I never downloaded it in the first place. Is there anyway to do this or will I have to keep the icons hidden and will my uninstalled list in blackberry apps just keep getting longer?

I have the Gmail app but it's not working properly. So, I want to fully delete it then reinstall it. I tried this last night by holding my finger on the app until it jiggled then pushed the "x" in the corner. I then restarted my phone, when to the app store and installed the app again, but it still signed me in automatically as if I didn't delete it. So, how do I fully delete it?

I purchased 20MB of space from ICloud which is more than enough to cover the update and my data? Although I've not downloaded any applications for a couple of months, my free space has declined to less than 5 MB on a regular basis. I store no photos, chats, or emails on the internal memory, just the memory card, and just to see if I can fix things I delete large emails as they arrive to try to stave off the inevitable "0 KB Free" message. Lately of course the BB has been deleting emails and chats, apparently to regain space.
The last time the delete checklist popped up -- "you're about out of memory, why not delete some of the installed apps to retrieve space?" -- I deleted Sprint Navigation, which said it was taking up 71MB. I figured that would give me a lot of breathing room. It completely deleted, I hard-rebooted the device, and... no change to my available memory. I'm still losing space. As a matter of fact, after deleting it and receiving that message, I thought maybe it doesn't understand, so I tried reinstalling it and got the "insufficient memory for installation"! So now I deleted something that's potentially useful -- and worked -- and can't put it back on even though it was just deleted!
Daily Racing, Clean Doctor, Clean Master, TouchPal all have ended up on my Galaxy S5 without me installing them. Each will reinstall themselves a few minutes after I uninstall them. AVG finds the first 3 apps to be 'unwanted programs' Lookout finds no faults with any of them. What app is controlling them? and how do I delete them for good? Noticed them a few weeks ago and uninstalled them, a few days later they were back. Now it does it in minutes, phone is becoming unusable because AVG keeps popping up to tell me there back. Its like the Poltergeist movie 'their here!'

I have had my storm for a week now and after restarting to finalise deleting some apps this green flashing LED light came on. But it's not like a coverage indicator where it flashes constantly it flashes 8 times then goes of for about 5 minutes and then flashes again.
So I tried a battery pull to see if it would go away and the green LED did but now the exact same thing is happening except the LED is red (flashes 8 times stops for 5 mins flashes 8 times and so on)
