Eseries / Communicators :: Nokia Belle On E7 Apps Are Gone After Update?
Mar 30, 2012I have updated from Anna to Belle, but some of the apps are deleted automatically. I cannot find Internet Radio, Antivirus and many other applications! How do I get them back? What should I do? Secondly, I installed apps downloaded from Ovi store are also gone like Skype, Ebuddy and Opera.. What should i do to get all of them back!

Jan 19, 2012I was generally a bit ticked-off with my E7, particularly because its USB port had gone extremely dodgy. sorted by my service provider by simply swapping the handset. The new one, however, has come with a completely different set of software loaded. Most of which is fine, but the Location App, with GPS data has dissappeared, and it's one of the items I used a lot.
I've looked at other GPS apps, but they don't have the functionality of the "location" app, mainly the ability to set a destination (via longitude and lattitude) and have it direct you there. This app has been on Nokia phones for years and years, and yet suddlenly this phone doesn't have it. Most odd.
Is it available for download from anywhere? I've looked for it on OVI for quite some time, but to no avail.

Dec 1, 2012I have a nokia E7 with Belle update , previously I had the Microsoft apps installed on my phone and for some reasons I had to do a full format and restore of my phone. My phone restore was only SMS and contacts.Then I tried installing the Microsoft apps again and after the installer file downloads , it ask me if it can download a 21 MB file , so I press yes and then it says " the connection was lost , canceling the installation "I am sure my network connections are OK, all the other applications download and install perfectly and I have tried it over 3G and Wifi. To be sure I did factory reset and it did not work.even when it creates an icon for smart installer , the same thing happens.

Feb 10, 2012so i recently gota a nokia 603 from my dad as a birthday present...i used it for a while and changed some settings...after doing this i decided to do a hard reset on the device..after the fone restarted i noticed that some of the original apps had gone missing..and also i cannot access social, nokia store, maps...and other preinstalled apps through mobile data..but its possible to access them through wifi.

Mar 31, 2012It seems I cannot delete individual folders on the E7-00 mass memory. I mis-spelled a folder name and wanted to delete it. You can only select multiple folders and not individual folders to delete or rename.
Had to use USB connection via Windows 7 to delete folder on phone mass memory.

Mar 3, 2012I got the phone from a friend of mine, who took off his memory card. I put a new memory card.In the gallery there is over 700 images indexed, which does not exist anymore(they were on the old memory card). When I try to delete them I got the following message:"General: System error"I have tried the following:
- Create a folder named: I:Imagescamera201006201006a0 (for June 2010) and placed an image file with the following name: 06062010085.jpg - unsuccessful
- Delete(rename) some files(folders) located in "Private" folder - I read that these files contains the index data - unsuccessful
- Reset the phone to factory settings - unsuccessful

Feb 1, 2011I use an E73, but searched the forum and know this problem plagues the E72 and maybe other phones, too. In my case, the sequence went like this:1) Receive email with attached pictures2) View each picture3) Press the scroll key while each picture is visible, get a Save prompt, and choose the internal phone memory. A "Saved to Gallery" prompt appears.4) Pictures were written to the root area of C:DataImages and can be viewed in Gallery5) At some later point, delete one or more pictures using File Manager6) Now when running Gallery, placeholders for the images still exist, and trying to delete them results in the a "General: System Error".There is no high level "Refresh" option.
If the pictures were on the SD Card, deleting E:private101ffc31glxmdstn (the card's thumbnail database) would fix this problem, but these pictures are ON THE C: RIVE! Assuming C:Private (which is inacceessible from any file viewer) contains another thumbnail database, my only options appear to be1) Soft reset (Will this work?? Please. no guessing! )2) Hard reset3) Hack the phoneI am using the latest E73 firmware that was released just a couple weeks ago. Does anybody with an E72 (etc.) know if this problem was already fixed for other Nokia phones?I made a short list of E73 bugs here: /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/Some-E73-044-088-firmware-bugs/m-p/904401#M83905 but this may actually be the worst bug of all because there is seemingly no workaround.

Jul 14, 2011I have an E72 where i backed up phone memory onto memory card. It is saved as backup.arc and can be seen when in PC suite, but now I cannot delete this because it says it is 'write-protected'.......... The size is 175mb, which is alarming.I am unable do any 'slider thingy' because it is a micro sd card with no adapter. Seriously, it is very very plain!I do not want to reformat it because i do not want to lose any Ovi maps and frankly, E72 has a LOT of software problems, I do not want to risk it (i set up a ringtone which also caused the inability to ever change it.... unless I saved a song as something...transfered it elsewhere...save it again etc etc, point is I am aware how nasty it gets, so, no formatting advice unless you guarantee there'll be no errors!)

Its been a great **bleep** on my earlier E63 and I naturally wanted it on my E72 However I noticed that there are words being added (by my keyboard mistakes) that DO NOT APPEAR in the custom dictionary.For example I managed to add [URL] to my dictionary? is there any other way to blast the custom dictionary?

Jun 9, 2010After updating software to version 031.023, I now have the following apps on my E72 that are no longer required:
Psiloc World Traveller
Adv. Comm. Manager
Smart Connect
Vlingo
PTT
I do not require these but I do not have the option to delete them - all I can do for now is move them to a new folder which I have called 'Unused apps'. Can anyone shed any light on how I can remove these apps and therefore free up more memory.

Dec 22, 2011I have a problem on my Nokia E63 in that if I try to install sis/sisx (in other words, Symbian) apps on my phone I get a message saying the file is corrupted, and then the installation is cancelled. If I try to uninstall any sis/sisx apps already installed, I get an error message saying, "Removing failed". The problem started for apparently no reason about 3 months after I bought the phone new, prior to which I had no problem installing/uninstalling sis/sisx apps. No problem with Java apps they install/uninstall with no difficulty -- I have verified that myself.How do I solve this problem? I have searched the discussions forums, but can't find exactly what I'm searching for.I want to soft reset the phone or reinstall the current firmware. The problem with reinstalling the firmware is that I see no option given in Nokia Suite to reinstall the current firmware. Anyone know then how to reinstall the firmware?Otherwise, my other option is to soft reset (*#7370#) (not a restore to factory settings). But I have a few questions before I do that. I understand a soft reset wipes the phone memory.1. Will a soft reset erase the apps which were on the phone when I bought it, namely QuickOffice, Adobe Reader 1.5, Nokia Maps, etc?2. Dec 22, 2012A few months earlier I went to Nokia care because my phone had an issue. The problem was not fixed, and my phone was replaced by another Nokia E5. In this phone whenever I try to uninstall some apps an error message "Removing cancelled" is appeared, and the app is not uninstalled. Following seven apps are problematic:
1. Twitter
2. MySpace
3. Bloomberg
4. AP Mobile
5. Chat Apps
6. Hi5
7. Friendster
I uninstalled these apps in my old phone without any problem. I have reset the phone many times, and I have the latest version of the firmware.

Jan 9, 2011I received two download links from the Nokia website upon request. Clicking on the link gets me to the download site and it asks me to sign in or register if I don't have a Nokia account. Whoever designed this was either on drugs or intoxicated, because without a nokia account they don't send you a download link in the first place. Since I do post this message here, I obviously did register and have an account. The problem is, my username and Password is not being recognized and it sends me into a never ending loop, with other words I am unable to sign in and download the application.i am at my wits ends and I am fuming at Nokia for giving me such a hard time to download a simple mobile app. My phone model is the E71x and both apps I received the link for are supposed to be compatible with this model.

May 25, 2011My Nokia E7-00 hangs every time I try to open Application Manager to uninstall applications - it says "scanning memory" and hangs there. Only way to come out of it is to hard reboot the phone. I tried reinstalling the device software from PC Ovi Suite and even though the reinstall completed successfully, it still hangs just the same as before. As a result, I am unable to uninstall ANY applications?
