HTC One M7 :: Can Use Phone As External Headset / Handpiece For Computer
Jan 14, 2014
I use an an osx app called "Telephone" (tlphn) for my works voip calls.
I have a huge glowing USB headset that works very well for this at home, however in public environments or the office it isn't quite so suitable.
I was wondering is is possible to somehow make the HTC ONe be a 'headset' or a handset that can be used as the microphone / headphones for skype or the voip software? Perhaps via usb or bluetooth?
Suddenly I found I was no longer able to play music through any external speaker or headset on my BB Torch. No one seems to be able to solve problem. BB Replaced but same problem. Complete factory reset solves problem but as soon as anything is restored, problem returns. Interestingly, if I make a call the headset works fine. If I play music, go to menu and try to 'activate headset' I get new window with headset and red dot on it. Coupled with this problem I notice if I go to 'set-up' and select 'email accounts' it will not open. I have had to activate all my accounts via my laptop.
I have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.
I have some SMS's that I want to keep as they are sentimental (very) and I don't know how to transfer them onto a PC, I know the Nokia 500-d has Bluetooth but I do not believe there is a USB cable available for this model
I have saved the SMS's that were originally in the inbox to a separate folder in saved items, but there is no option to do anything with these, to transfer etc.. I really really do not want to lose these messages, there must be some way to save them. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!!!
I am planning to travel to Central America, and I want to take pictures with my iPhone. I only have 8 GB memory, so I wanted to take my 1 TB WD Mac External Hard Drive with me on the trip. Is there any way I can connect my iPhone directly to the external hard drive, without the use of a computer?
Every time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?
I am trying to connect a 1 TB external HD (Seagate Backup Plus) to my Galaxy 5 phone. HD is exfat formatted. When I connect the HD to my phone, it recognizes that a new USB drive is connected. Unfortunately, it only sees 196 MB. I loaded the HD with my iTunes music files, and hoped I could access them using my phone, as I have more files than will fit on my iPod. Unfortunately, I can't see any of the files, and my file manager says there are only 196 MB in the drive.
Is this possible? I know iPhones can have a mic plugged into the headphone jack, and given the 1020 can use a cabled hands free kit i imagine the answer is yes, but just curious.
Reason I ask is I am eyeing up a directional mic for video use with the 1020 as the onboard mic isn't perfect (good but not great).
How do I set my phone to use use my external SD card, 32 gig, for as much as possible so that I can try to use only what is mandatory on my internal storage? I have my camera set to use my external SD card I'm not sure how to set apps, downloads, music etc to use external. I'm assuming there is a recommendation that those of you who know more about using this phone than I that I should use?
the headset icon stays even if i remove the headset. I tried to restart and restore my phone but if i plug in the headset again and removed, the head icon stays again.
I'm often getting this icon and I can't understand why. It causes problems as sometimes (when the icon is displayed) I can't answer my calls. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it?
Is there / Could there be a way to directly plug an External Hard Drive directly to the Torch? Provided you have the right USB cable ends. Technically its a USB file system, so would the Torch read it like a MediaCard? Not for constant use, just media management.
I want to use an external hard drive that has contents that I want to be able to view on my samsung galaxy tablet or my motorola droid turbo. How can I do this without rooting them? If I have to root is there a guide that is easy to follow for both devices. I have the proper connection type usb connector.
I don't have an unlimited data plan, so when I use my phone while traveling, every time I look on Google maps- or any other location-based app for that matter- it's using up my data plan and costing me money. I think it's stupid that Apple has tied the built-in gps inextricably to the data service- they could at least let the gps operate in a reduced capacity when data is unavailable. What is one supposed to do if one lives in or travels to a location with limited data network availability? At any rate, this is the world we live in, so my question is this: if I get an external gps receiver, and turn off my data service, will my phone be able to extract and use my location from the device?
I've run across an issue, not sure if it's since this last Sprint M8 update (3.31.654.2), or if it started a day or two prior, but using my Blueant Q3 Bluetooth headset, the phone's mic only works, not the headset mic. I couldn't figure out why when walking around the room people where saying I was getting very quiet. I re-paired the unit tried a couple of other ones and tested using a voice recording app, to discover the phones mic is only working.... Tested using the wired HK ear bud set that came with it and it uses the wired headset mic.
How can I change it to play through the phone's regular earpiece? I've looked at the Sound settings, and couldn't find anything. Sounds are processed by the phone's default sound app. The volume is controlled through the Media volume control.
So I'm having a issue with Bluetooth during phone calls. I use a bt headset for most of my phone calls because then that gives me the ability to use the phone. The issue is when I'm doing things on the phone and using my headset people tell me they can't hear me or I cut out really bad. It doesn't do it every time but it happens a lot.
I'm running stock lollipop and on Verizon. I got the phone with 4.4.2 but as soon as I turned it on it got lollipop so not sure if it was a issue before. I have had the phone for 2 months now.
I have done a factory reset after the update to see if that would work...
Phone mic not working during calls after removing headset. I need to restart or turn on speaker on/off to get the phone mic working again.
It happens only after removing the headset. I will be listening to music in headset and will remove it when I reach office. If I get any calls after removing it then the person other side can't hear me. The mic works only if I restart or turn on speaker.
my BB 9700 will only make/recieve calls with a headset attached. When I remove the headset during a call or before, the phone starts flipping between Headset and phone. I can't make or answer any phone calls with just the phone. My speakers work fine with music or other apps. It's just making or answering a phone call that makes the phone switch between headset back & forth. Does anyone know how to fix this or possibly why it happened? Is anyone having this same problem?
(Posted incorrectly in the 9780 forum, so posting here)Blackberry 9700v5.0.0.296 (Platform 5.1.0.83) FolksHave started having this very weird problem, make that problems.#1: I get a call.. i start the call.. phone keeps on switching between headset and handset mode. Cannot have a conversation at all. I have to use the headset.I tried manually selecting handset, speakerphone but nothing. I have to resort to using the headset, then it stays in headset mode.#2: I remove the headet pin, re-insert it. This somehow activates music. I have to always go in and stop it.I had this problem a few months ago and then a few days ago. Both the times i managed to make it go away. I believe I did the following:- Headset in- Power down- Remove battery- Power back up- Remove headsetMy guess is that sometime when you remove the headset, it does not understand it 'cleanly'. First time (few months ago) I was just listening to music via headset. 2nd time (few days ago) I had it connected via my AUX connection to the car stereo.
When I am using a wired headset with my phone the microphone on the phone remains on and it becomes very noisy; therefore making the use of a wired headset almost impossible. I know I may be able to avoid this by using a blue tooth; however, I need to use a wired headset and not a blue tooth in many situations..!
When using Skype video call the phone gets hotter and when it reaches 45 degc (battery temp) the person on the other end of the call can't hear me. My audio input is no longer being picked up.
Happens with either mic or headset use.
Typically takes around 10 mins before this happens, from cold (30 degc) start.
If I exit call and then reconnect the audio works fine again for a short period (1 to 2 mins) of time but will then stop again. If I let the phone cool then audio will work ok on next call for longer, until phone heats up again then it stops.
I just get my MotoACTV two days ago, after try it out i realize that i can't receive the phone call even i had plug in the default wired headphone (SF200 i though).in the display just show up "silence" text. i successfully sync my MotoACTV with my Droid 2 and i can get text message, twitter, weather, etc. the problem i get just to receive call.
My device is unable to detect any of the Bluetooth Headset. I have tried same with Nokia and Amkette bluetooth. Scanning does not list any of these bluetooth headeset.
