HTC One M7 :: Bootloader Screen Is Locked - What To Do
Nov 5, 2015
My phone is a HTC M7 ... My phone went flat one day after i charged battery and turned phone on it now goes straight to the boot loader screen which says LOCKED for some reason ... I can't seem to get passed this screen now.
The whole range not just the bell vibrant. Is the bootloader on these things open? Anyone running froyo on it yet? Or any custom roms? Thinking of getting the TMobile version, but it'd be pretty useless with a locked bootloader
Rooting (or Jailbreaking if you're used to the iPhone) is pretty awesome - it enables you to use a whole bunch of apps that are previously offlimits (such as Titanium Backup - a piece of software that will back up all of your .apks. It also enables you to remove some of the built-in bloat that Sony stuffed onto the Xperia Play which frees up a bit more space for new apps (Who honestly needs the Chinese keyboard on their phone?!)The classic way to root a phone is to first unlock the boatloader and then through that, install a version of your ROM that allows root access. However, although SE are providing a way to unlock the bootloader on a Play, this is not ideal because:Unlocking the bootloader automatically invalidates your warrantyWhen you have unlocked your bootloader, the software update function on your phone stops working as SE consider your phone to be "modified"Most phones are SIM-locked to a particular network and are therefore not even candidates to be bootloader unlocked The solution is to root your phone without unlocking the bootloader. How? A new application called Gingerbreak does it all for you! Literally, all you need to do is download the Gingerbreak .apk, run it and enjoy your new rooted Play. I can confirm that it is 100% working and took about 5 minutes from start to finish.
The world knows updates in a Motorola phone is very slow! This leaves power users with no other option but to go for custom ROMs. Even there locked bootloader is always a very big problem! Moto promised long back to unlock bootloaders. Defy and Defy+ are now quite old phones and will receive no update either! So now is there any hope that the bootloaders will be unlocked? This deters most devs and power users from getting Moto phones inspite of an excellent build quality. Hope we get a reply and this thread don't die without any use!
I have purchased a S6 from Amazon, but the device is branded with Swisscom, with an awful boot logo and sound, and a few specific apps. I'm waiting for a nano sim, so for now I don't know if the phone is also simlocked.
I intend anyway to install custom roms, so I don't care much about this, however I can't find out whether the bootloader is locked or not (in which case, I'll have to send it back to Amazon I guess).
The device is a SM-920F, I made the OTA update to 5.1.1 upon powering it. Not sure what the bootloader and rom exact versions are, but I will add them to the post if necessary.
So I think I know the answer but wanted to validate. If I leave the bootloader locked on my device and download a factory image from Google, cannot I just put the zip on the sdcard storage and run it through recovery to update? I don't think that I need to unlock the bootloader do I? I am trying to keep everything stock for now, but updates are a big reason I wanted this phone. Also don't want to break Android Pay.
My Dad's HTC One M7 is stuck in the bootloader screen and is unable to boot to the main OS.
The phone has never been unlocked or rooted, I've never even seen the bootloader screen until now. The first thing it says in the bootloader screen is ****LOCKED****.
The only information I know is that prior to this, he was prompted for a system update which (he says!) looked official.
I've tried every option in the boot menu (fastboot, bootloader, recovery, recovery reset) and it just goes back to the main screen.
Is there a key combination that I'm missing? Was the system upgrade corrupt? I know next to nothing about Android bootloaders.
I have tried Googling for hours but all the results are from people trying to load a custom ROM or unlocking the bootloader - nothing about a 'normal' installation.
After OTA update device got stuck on Google logo and somehow recovery is missing, Android on it's back with red triangle. Is there way to fix it with locked bootloader ?
So I fell asleep with my phone when i woke up it was on the bootloader screen, I thought this was no big deal and just had it reboot as it boots up it goes directly back into the bootloader. Ive tried everything apart from factory reset.
had a slight moment where wifi had shut off.. but it fully downloaded.. pressed install.. and it installed.. (i think) but it booted up to the bootloader screen.. says:err: A5,69,25,00,27battery OKOK to programconnect USBData Cable
Totally stock Defy, upgraded to 2.2 and on its 2nd ear speaker. While in the browser the phone froze compleatly, so after waiting a while I pulled the battery, and on restarting it went straight to a bootloader screen. Then when i connect to the PC it, just changes the last line to Transfer Mode OK.I have tried the Start button and Volume rocker switch, but this seems to do nothing. Please tell my "Life proof" phone isn't dead before my 2 year contract is up!? I have tried googling, but all the help I can find, seems to be for people who are rooting their Devices, I would just like to state that is not what I was, or am trying to do.
after the reboot the only thing my screen ever displays is garbled colored pixels even after pulling the battery. Fastboot still works just fine, so I tried wiping everything and reflashing but it still never shows anything but this screen. I even tried reflashing older versions of the bootloader and nothing works.
So, I turned on my phone and now it goes straight to the bootloader. So, when I select "Start" option, screen turns black (can still see backlight shining though). It was sitting there for hours, but screen stayed black.
I did have a rooted phone, but I hadn't tinkered with it for about 6 months.
"Okay Google" not working from locked screen or timed out dark screen. I noticed this befoer the update that it stopped and didn't work after update either.Under Language and Input >Voice Input>Enhanced Google Service>OK Google detection>... I have all 3 options on - 'from google app', 'from any screen', 'Personal results'
We have the Xperia Ray and it has been working fine for about 6 weeks until the other day when the screen stopped working and we are therefore unable to access the phone. We have tried to repair the software twice and that did not work and obviously we are unable to do the reset as not able to access the phone systems.
i am a new cell phone user (read that as non-technical) and somehow my screen locked and is asking me for a password. I don't have a password! How can I unlock my screen and prevent it from happening again?
Is it possible to show a mail or sms icon letting you know that you have new items when you phone is in the locked state so i don't have to unlock the phone to check if I have messages?
I just got my Curve 9300. This device has an OS that is new to me, I used to have a Pearl about a year ago. I've set up my personal information to show on the lock screen so that if I ever lose my phone someone who find's it can contact me. However, when I lock the screen, it dims down / shuts off and when I press any button, I get a message saying "Keypad is locked. press the Mute...". If I don't unlock it, the screen shuts off / dims down again. So basically, I never get to see the lock screen message I've set up, it's always hidden. I didn't have this problem with my old Pearl.
The 'Reply On The Fly' feature for Messaging is a useful tool, but I was able to use it while my phone (Unlocked Dual Sim, US) was locked. Is this a bug or an intentional feature? I can understand being able to change the volume/vibrate settings or turn on the camera, while the phone is locked, but being able to use "Reply On the Fly" doesn't seem secure. With the camera, you can't access photo albums or share photos without unlocking the phone first. Heaven forbid, if someone picks up your phone and decides to be your proxy and maliciously responds.
Ever since the last update, I am having a hard time answering calls when the screen is locked(off). You are supposed to slide it up to answer calls but I try and try to slide it and it won't answer. I have tried tapping all around the screen also. Nothing.
I see the icons move when I slide across them, but they don't respond.
I have a very irritating problem with nokia 5230 with the latest firmware version. The screen keypad gets locked when I dial a call or when I attend an incoming call with the green call receive button. however when I lock it and unlock it back, the screen keypad gets unlocked. Im not sure if the issue is because of the latest firmware. Is there any way I can move to previous firmware version.
Just noticed my screen goes black when i lock the phone. Is there a setting to change this? Sorry im still new to BB.Btw, i just upgraded to the new OS .545
When the screen is locked and a phone call comes through, the screen only shows "slide to answer". I know I can ignore it or mute it, but how to reject it? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I've been using my lovely phone for 3 weeks and this question JUST occurred to me today.
