HTC :: EVO 4g Can It Be Activated On Verizon?
Jun 8, 2010I received a free HTC EVO phone at Google I/O. Any chance that I can get it activated on the Verizon network? Is there a way to do this?

Jun 5, 2010Ok so I bought an env2 off a guy on craigslist. I dropped my old one in a puddle but I really loved my env 2 so I bought a used one from someone on craigslist. When I went to activate it I discovered it was on revol's network, I dont live in the city hence I can get coverage on revol. Still says verizon all over it when you turn it on and off. I am not very savvy with cell phones but I am with a computer. I took it to the verizon store and they tried to put new firmware on it but it didnt work. I have a tough time beleiving that it can go from verizons network to revols but not back, if anyone has a way that I can flash the phone back to verizon.

Nov 16, 2012This is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. Is he pretty much out of luck or is there some alternate way of doing this that I haven't discovered yet?

IPhone :: New IP4 On Non Activated Contract?
Aug 15, 2010Last month I got an iP4 on Vodafone contract through CPW and was porting over from o2. Nothing happened and, a month later I have a Vodafone subsidised iP4, no Vodafone contract and my old up and running o2 contract. I have checked the above with Voda and o2.
Now I've buggered up my sim card I need a new one. I have two choices.
a) Go back to CPW, tell them what's happened, give them a bollocking and demand that they sort my Vodafone contract so I can get on with it.
b) Go to o2 and ask for a new sim and carry on as normal. I haven't used the new phone as a phone yet due to no micro sim so I assume it'll take the o2 sim then lock to it?
Action has to be taken today as I have no working sim and need a phone but I change my mind every five minutes.

Dec 28, 2010Yesterday I bought a brand new Xperia X10 mobile with android 2.1 packed on November 2010 at a SONY Gallery in chennai. After unboxing the mobile, and initial settings, I could not either make a call or receive a call. The showroom guys made a call to Sony support and said, I need to wait for two days as the IMEI numbers are not unlocked yet. I was terribly disappointed since I cannot use the mobile for another two days. But today I just wanted to make a try and inserted my SIM and checked if i can make a call. To my surprise the call was working. I was happy that the phone is activated.
But after 45 minutes, now again I am facing the same problem. The calls are not working. Neither I am able to receive the call nor I can make a call.

Sometimes a few times per day my phone goes to no service in a high signal area (tested with a other phone on the same network) Turning on airplane mode and off sometimes restored service.If that fails sometimes a reset network setting can restores service. But sometimes as the reset reboots the phone it then needs activated again! And it will not activate via Itunes or wi-fI. Also after a few reboots and telling the phone its getting replaced with a HTC is starts working again! I have also done a number of restores and total clear outs via itunes.

After the first few days of having terrible battery life, even when doing very little with the phone, we tracked down the error to something which happens when keylock gets activated the first time after starting the phone. Using Nokia Energy profiler, we've found out that as soon as keylock is activated the CPU usage goes to 100% and never comes down afterwards, except when turning phone off and on again. Done factory resets (via phone meny, Restore and Delete data) and this problem shows up even when installing only the most basic apps - last time it appeared after installing swype, so now resetting and installing nothing.
