Moto X (2014) :: Cannot Click On Phone Numbers To Dial Out Directly From Email Or Outlook App
Mar 4, 2015I recently purchased the (2014) Moto X for one of my fellow employees. He is an apple fan boy, so when it was his time for an upgrade of course I got him an Android device (with the notion I had 30 days to return if necessary)
He loves the device, his only gripe has been that he cannot click on phone numbers to dial out directly from the email app or the outlook app. He can however click on phone numbers through his Gmail app and it go straight to the dialer.

Oct 14, 2015When i click on setting there is a storage & USB atab under device which I click on. When I do this, no internal storage is available in order for me to click on MTP. When I click on the three dots it says Help and Feedback. The phone is not locked. I am tethering my phone to my computer.
My goal is to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer via tethering but I cannot locate the internal storage in order to click on MTP.

All of my other android phones I could either dial by name as in spell it out using the alpha buttons or if I wanted to call my wife and her number is ie. 614-555-5555 I could dial 0067 on the pad and it was the only number with that combo and pop her name up. Now I have to dial 6145555 and it pops her name up. Is there a way to change this??
I came from a Moto RZR Maxx, went to the Samsung s6 (dialer worked great but no data and voice at the same time) Now to the nexus6...

Oct 1, 2014I've just moved from the HTC oneX to Nexus5 running 4.4.4. On the HTC, autocomplete suggested all dialed or received numbers, not just those in my address book. I can't seem to find this function on the Nexus. I can't see anywhere to activate it in the Settings.
All in, very dissatisfied with the built-in dialer. HTC was much better. I would have expected Google to have given the best for their own phone, but this appears to not be the case.

Dec 16, 2015My Nexus 5 phone is running Android 6.0.1, but shortly before that, I switched from a T-Mobile Prepaid plan to a postpaid plan and then, immediately back to a prepaid plan again. The thing is that I had a $30/month prepaid plan which is not available as a postpaid plan. But no one told me. They just said that I was eligible for a postpaid plan after 18 months. Of course, I jumped right back when they wanted to charge me $50/month. So that is what caused the texting trouble.

Reason is since I have an email account like I assume most folks do, I hate getting 200 spam emails per day and I think it reasonable to be able to "select, delete" instead of having to long hold and delete each individually. I have looked at other apps in the Play store but none seem to be reviewed as well as my opinion of Kit kat email client.

May 29, 2014I started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
Google Nexus 5 :: Phone Doesn't Ask For Google Credentials After Many Unlock Attempts
Aug 22, 2015I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

Nov 29, 2015when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.

Anyway; on my Note 4 I can set in the settings it so that every email I reply to; it'll 'CC' me in on the reply. However, I cannot find this option on the N6.
Google Nexus 5 :: Email Gone After Marshmallow OTA Upgrade
Oct 18, 2015My Nexus 5 did an OTA upgrade to marshmallow today. SMS (handcent) and email didn't work after the upgrade. I fixed the SMS by uninstalling and re-installing handcent ( I think it is called Next SMS) now.
The email still doesn't work. When I click on the existing email app on the homescreen, it says 'app not installed'. The settings/accounts shows a Personal (POP3) account set up with the correct details, but I don't know how to access it.. There is no way to add an email app/widget to the homescreen... (there is nothing to do with email in the apps or widgets sections).

Feb 27, 2014Using the stock email app have issues with Exchange meeting/calendar invites? If I receive a meeting request via email (from my work account) there are no details about the invite (date, time or location). I am given the option for the following in the body of the email:
Calendar Invite - "View in Calendar"
Going? - "Yes", "Maybe" or "No"
If I choose "View in Calendar", my calendar will open to the invite date, but will not show the proposed time block, just what is already scheduled for that date. If I choose "Yes" to accept, there is a small prompt stating "responding to sender" (or something similar), however it never shows up in the calendar.

Only as an attachment.I would love to be proven wrong here, because I want this to work, but the fact that you can't do this is INSANE. iPhone? Easy to do... Long press, "Insert Photo", pick the photo (or take a photo). Done.
Android? Nope, can't do it. Can't even copy a photo into the clipboard from Photos, or any other photo viewer. Best you can do is sometimes copy an image from a webpage and past it inline using Nine Exchange client.This is the type of thing that keeps Android always second best, never quite able to be equal with iOS for usability.

Nov 21, 2013The Hangout messages on my Nexus 5 are not constantly updating. I will be in a regular conversation then nothing for maybe 30 minutes. Then, messages from the past 30 minutes all pour in at once. I thought it was a Hangouts issue but I have noticed it at times with my GMail also. I am using Straight Talk on AT&T's towers.

Oct 5, 2014A friend emailed me a couple of pdfs by attachment. I downloaded them and saved them, and opened them with Quickoffice. However, I cannot find them. They are not in the downloads folder, and when I open Quickoffice they do not appear in the Recent Files. The only way to find them is to go back to the original email. Where would they be stored? (One reason that I'd like to know is so that I can delete them: at the moment the only way seems to be to delete the email, which I don't want to do).

Nov 5, 2013Trying to figure out best way to stay on top of notifications. Not really thrilled with getting them in the notifications section for each email - I get too many of them.
My Galaxy S3 and past iphones all simply show you a notification with a number on the mail or messages app itself, telling me how many I have new or unread. I believe there is even a third party app for Gmail. But I assume it should simply be a setting to the existing apps or a active widget. But no luck.
Am I missing a setting, or is there really no actual unread message totals notification on the email and hangouts icons?
