Just got my Nexus 5 today after being an iPhone user since 2007. I have searched the forums but could not find a definitive answer to this question: How do you organize emails into conversations in Exchange using the stock email app. I can't seem to find the setting anywhere.
View 1 RepliesUsing the stock email app have issues with Exchange meeting/calendar invites? If I receive a meeting request via email (from my work account) there are no details about the invite (date, time or location). I am given the option for the following in the body of the email:
Calendar Invite - "View in Calendar"
Going? - "Yes", "Maybe" or "No"
If I choose "View in Calendar", my calendar will open to the invite date, but will not show the proposed time block, just what is already scheduled for that date. If I choose "Yes" to accept, there is a small prompt stating "responding to sender" (or something similar), however it never shows up in the calendar.

So out of the blue my Nexus 5 has decided to just hang at 0% when fetching attachments in any email on my work account which is an exchange server. I can open files in any other email (Gmail accounts, Hotmail, yahoo) but not via my work acct? Have tried rebooting the phone with no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI notice an push email delay of up to 15 minutes (but sometimes no delay) on all three of my MS Exchange accounts using the stock Google "Email" app. Have seen some talk of this around the internet. Only suggested solution was turn off WiFi Optimization, which I did, to no avail.
View 10 Replies View RelatedLooking for the Kit Kat version of the Google email client to sideload as I see it's not available in Play store. Reason is since I have an email account like I assume most folks do, I hate getting 200 spam emails per day and I think it reasonable to be able to "select, delete" instead of having to long hold and delete each individually. I have looked at other apps in the Play store but none seem to be reviewed as well as my opinion of Kit kat email client.

I started having this issue yesterday--I have YMail, Hotmail and GMail accounts all in the stock e-mail app on my Nexus 5. I also use Lightflow for LED notifications and have had no problems. I noticed I was no longer receiving the taskbar icon notifications in the upper left for new e-mails, nor the Lightflow LED notifications. I still get Hangout/text notifications, not sure about missed calls.
1) Confirmed notifications set to On in the e-mail app for each of the e-mail accounts
2) Turned phone off and then back on
3) Cleared data and cleared cache in e-mail app -- didn't work
4) Uninstalled Lightflow app
5) Deleted all 3 accounts from the e-mail app, then added them back in; rebooted -- still no notifications
I don't use the stock GMail app for GMail since I prefer to just have one icon to use to keep track of all my e-mail accounts.
Even though the N6 is my personal mobile; when I'm out & about it's handy to have my business emails coming in to me so I can reply to them where necessary so I've set this up and it's been great on days like this where I've decided to have a day out of the office etc...
Anyway; on my Note 4 I can set in the settings it so that every email I reply to; it'll 'CC' me in on the reply. However, I cannot find this option on the N6.
My Nexus 5 did an OTA upgrade to marshmallow today. SMS (handcent) and email didn't work after the upgrade. I fixed the SMS by uninstalling and re-installing handcent ( I think it is called Next SMS) now.
The email still doesn't work. When I click on the existing email app on the homescreen, it says 'app not installed'. The settings/accounts shows a Personal (POP3) account set up with the correct details, but I don't know how to access it.. There is no way to add an email app/widget to the homescreen... (there is nothing to do with email in the apps or widgets sections).
How to save email attachment on the Nexus 6? When I open the attachment (PDF, jpg, etc), I'll hit save but where is it saved. I've checked galleries and download folders but the are empty

Nexus doesn't have this feature? I turn on notifications and I get a little letter envelop in the top status bar but that's it.
I sometime send emails from my Nexus 5 using GMail. A friend mentioned that the emails come in with a very, very small font.

However, when I use the email client that comes on the Nexus 5, the reply goes to the writer of the post and not the group as a whole. Why is this, and is there anything I can do about it?

Now I need to use the stock email that comes with the device for work, but I can't seem to find it in the play store. Maybe I'm searching under the wrong name, but how I can get the stock email app back onto my device? Is the stock email even in the play store? It's a couple of days my phone doesn't sync and download new emails. I switched to Aquamail and it's working. I can't understand what happened to the stock email app

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Nexus 6 with latest Lollipop (5.1.1) running.I have tried many email clients (Gmail, Nine, Blue, Aqua, etc. and found no way to insert photos inline into an email. Only as an attachment.I would love to be proven wrong here, because I want this to work, but the fact that you can't do this is INSANE. iPhone? Easy to do... Long press, "Insert Photo", pick the photo (or take a photo). Done.
Android? Nope, can't do it. Can't even copy a photo into the clipboard from Photos, or any other photo viewer. Best you can do is sometimes copy an image from a webpage and past it inline using Nine Exchange client.This is the type of thing that keeps Android always second best, never quite able to be equal with iOS for usability.
The Hangout messages on my Nexus 5 are not constantly updating. I will be in a regular conversation then nothing for maybe 30 minutes. Then, messages from the past 30 minutes all pour in at once. I thought it was a Hangouts issue but I have noticed it at times with my GMail also. I am using Straight Talk on AT&T's towers.

Also if i am connected to my home wifi i cant download any images or videos that people send my through kik or whatsapp. But i do get the text messages that they send.
A friend emailed me a couple of pdfs by attachment. I downloaded them and saved them, and opened them with Quickoffice. However, I cannot find them. They are not in the downloads folder, and when I open Quickoffice they do not appear in the Recent Files. The only way to find them is to go back to the original email. Where would they be stored? (One reason that I'd like to know is so that I can delete them: at the moment the only way seems to be to delete the email, which I don't want to do).

Whenever I reboot my phone those 5 archived conversation show back up in my current list of Hangouts conversations. I touch and hold the conversation I want to archive hit the archive button and get the message Archiving Hangout, but they still come back after a phone reboot.

My Galaxy S3 and past iphones all simply show you a notification with a number on the mail or messages app itself, telling me how many I have new or unread. I believe there is even a third party app for Gmail. But I assume it should simply be a setting to the existing apps or a active widget. But no luck.
Am I missing a setting, or is there really no actual unread message totals notification on the email and hangouts icons?
i remember having a order reciept of my nexus 5, when i ordered it last chrismas,and now i broken the screen and my insuranc need the order reciept that was sent to me via a email i made extra for buiing the nexus.how can i find out with what email i bought nexus, because i have a diffrent google account..

The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?
I just got a Nexus 6 running Android 5.1.1 Today I added my personal email account and my work email account to the phone. When I tried to remove my work email account, the option to remove is not there. I've gone into accounts and selected the account that I want to remove and the option is just not there. The same for my personal account too. How can I remove this email account from my phone?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version.The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.
I have a Nexus 6 that I absolutely love but I've just updated it to Lollipop and now my Gmail and Google Contacts are not syncing automatically. I've gone through all the settings about a million times and everything is setup properly. I'm currently using an app called Force Gmail Sync to keep my Google account synced up . It works great but I'd prefer to just be running Google apps on my phone and keep everything stock. I've tried a factory reset with no luck. Any secret way to set a sync frequency for Google's Gmail and Contacts apps without using a third party app?

Whenever i wanna send a picture to a bbm contact im not given the option to send photo once i get to the actual picture. Is there some configuration that i need to set up?
