Experience crackling audio with Netflix? It occurs with headphones and the speaker.
It doesn't happen with other apps like YouTube, play music, games, sling, etc. It also doesn't happen if I use Bluetooth headphones.

I have a Nexus 6, rooted, unlocked, unencrypted running 5.1.1 and when I play netflix over chromecast I never get the pause button my lock screen. I was wondering why that would be? My wife's G3 gets it on her lock screen when she chrome casts.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have two Nexus 5, one is running Lollipop 5.1.1, the other Marshmallow 6.0 (OTA upgrade).
USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success. Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.
I'm having some difficulty with doing this. Recently, a family member of mine had purchased a stereo system, more specifically, the LG mini hi-fi cm4320. Everything about the system seems to be functional except for USB port to mp3 capability. From the outside, it would appear that this should function the same as if it were a car stereo/radio system with the same USB connection option. Each time I try establish connection with my phone, the system's screen flashes "search/no USB", switching between the two. Is this an issue with my phone or the stereo system itself? In any case, how do I go about correcting it.

I would rather have it the audio I set it up, not the gradual quiet to loud thing it keeps trying to do for everything. Examples are when I try to use speaker phone, receive a text, or an alarm I have set.

Randomly my Nexus audio just cuts out. Its like there's a time limit to the audio tone starting and completing and if it doesnt meet that time limit, then it just doesnt make a tone. I usually have to adjust the volume to fix it. Even the volume tone cuts out on the first press of the button. Its like the audio drivers is stuck and needs to be reminded to execute.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDuring calls my Nexus 5 has no audio in regular call mode generally, I can hear great, but people can't hear me at all. However, a headset works, and speaker phone works. More surprisingly, if you start in either of those modes, then go to regular call modes, the microphone works fine for about 30 seconds!
It has the regular vanilla Android 5.1.1 OS, I do not have root. But I would consider rooting if there was a fix.
I have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have N5 with latest Marshmallow updates (November 2015) rooted with ElementalX kernel installed. I have a very strange issue that while playing any local (not streaming) audio file, it plays with double or triple of its speed.
I used several apps to make sure it's not application based issue, the same occurs.
Updated and WiFi is fine but now Netflix is hosed. I had installed Netflix from the market. Now when I try to start Netflix it says a new version of the application is found and I have to update. Now I am in a loop that sends me to the market to update. Choosing update sends me to a screen where the only option is to open the app. And so the loop begins...new version must update.I cannot uninstall Netflix. Now it is unusable. Can anyone help? I have forced a stop of Netflix but it is the same loop. Open, must update, market, update, open, must update, market, update, open...Update-- I powered off/on and the Netflix update showed up correctly on the notification area. Updated and happy now. Checking the rest of the apps. Now I am back to enjoying my Xoom FE.

Sometimes the audio will work fine (notice this more when I'm on WiFi) but sometimes, in all apps (snapchat, facebook, regular gallery view) the video will play but the audio will cut in and out.
Not sure what it is. Phone is rooted (systemless) and is running the EX Kernel. I didn't mess with the audio settings in the EX Manager...
This is a huge issue for me as I spend a lot of time on Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube (I'm a vlogger, etc.).
I am experiencing very annoying speaker pops on unlocking and relocking the 6p (32GB aluminum) with nothing playing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my e71-1 for only a couple of months now and noticed that it randomly hangs during menu navigation and especially when either trying to make a call or ending a call (most noticeable when 'number busy' is displayed). It can take at least 5-10 seconds for the phone to respond at which point it suddenly cycles through multiple functions due to me having pressed various buttons to try to get it to respond during the hang.I have tried two different firmware versions (400.21.013 and 410.21.010; I'm currently using the latter) and this phenomenon occurs on both. I have not installed any additional apps/games. And the phone has loads of on board memory still free as well as the 8GB memory card that is encrypted despite being virtually empty.I am at a loss trying to get this problem resolved. It's quite annoying saying 'goodbye' to a person and then you can't end the call immediately. I've done a forum search but have not found any way to fix this.Moreover and totally unrelated (I think), there seems to be something wrong with the external speaker on the phone. When I navigate around the menus, the beeps emitted are often crackly. This can also occur when I receive confirmation beeps. Despite this, the quality of the speaker is actually good when it works. The phone hasn't been exposed to any water or even out in the rain so this surely is a build problem?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter about 90 minutes straight of playing spoken-word podcasts and music from my internal iPhone 4S speakers at top volume, the music now crackles when played at top volume. This change happened mid-song, when the unit was just sitting untouched on a counter. At first top volume was not as loud as it was previously, but the unit seems to have regained the functionality. I've reset the unit twice. Any idea what happened and—more importantly—how I can fix it?

My Nexus 5, with default Google Keyboard, has stopped showing word suggestions. It used to work but doesn't anymore. The keyboard is not set to the same language as the system language.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

So I flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, I am stuck at the google logo.

today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..
