View 10 RepliesDo you think it may be possible that we can get root access without unlocking the bootloader - I'm a little reluctant to unlock the bootloader because of the QFuse blowing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI used Wugfresh nexus root toolkit and went through the unlocking and root process. It unlocked fine, went through the reboot process. Then when I selected root and recovery I got to TWRP, swiped to apply the zips, it rebooted and never got back into system. Now it just hangs on the google logo. I can get into bootloader and stock recovery still as I attempted to reflash stock through the toolkit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy brand new baby is giving me a Bluetooth nightmare. After I use it with Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 headset and disconnect the Bluetooth (even if I switch off Bluetooth), phone audio won't come thru the regular speaker. However, if I switch on the speakerphone, then audio works. A restart fixes the problem. But it is super annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with video calls and speaker phone calls? Everyone I have talked to complains about barely being able to hear me. I use hangouts mostly for the video calls. Just wondering if it is my phone or a common issue.

Majority of apps out there only allow adjustment to overall volume...
The native google camera app 2.5.052 (2005148-30) stops frequently. "Cannot connect to the camera" error pops up. I have to restart the mobile to use the cam.

It doesn't happen with other apps like YouTube, play music, games, sling, etc. It also doesn't happen if I use Bluetooth headphones.
I am on 5.0.1 ...
I'm using Android 5.1.1 on a Nexus 6. My question is sort of two-fold:
-First, is there a way that I can whitelist some apps where I'm not worried about an intruder accessing them, so that I can use them via "Ok, Google" without having to go through my unlock process (sort of like how you can accept a phone call without unlocking). Examples would be Shazam or Phillips Hue, where I want quick access without hassle.
-Second, what I REALLY want is the ability to modify my lock screen to have a couple app shortcuts or widgets on it, but I heard that google deprecated this in one of the 4.x releases for some reason. Is there a way to get this functionality back?
Rooting and unlocking. Up until I rooted my nexus 5 in the hopes to get side by side apps I haven't rooted since my gs2. Anyways I rooted my phone via the nexus 5 root toolkit and unlocked the bootloader and whatnot. I found out that I couldn't do side by side because it wasn't available for my version of android. I attempted to unroot and return to stock and I just unrooted and locked the bootloader. Can't figure out how to return my phone to stock without twrp. Every time I try to do OTA updates it just restarts to twrp and it's super annoying. How to get back to stock so I can do OTA updates?
View 2 Replies View Relatedwell after few days reading different sites , youtube videos on how unlock the device lockscreen, I tried downloading adb tool , and droid explorer and even sdk tools. My main trouble is that half of my screen wont work and i cant get access to my mobile to unlock it.I tried to get in to recovery mode to wipe out the cache so i could get via usb my folder with my family pictures and so on , but after selecting recovery mode it says no commands available..
So this option is not working, is it cuz my usb don't have the settings to get into the folders or what. The phone is not rooted , i never enable anything so i guess that debugging i did read some post wont work with that adb commands from cmd..
Will rooting my nexus 5 without unlocking the boot-loader void my t mobile warranty? My Phone is an LG Nexus 5 running the latest Version of lollipop and the only reason i want to root it is to be able to connect my ps3 controller to it and play emulators or minecraft...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...
My phone often rebooting after I unlocked the screen. I don't remember when it started behaving like this, but I already did a clean flash, change the rom, swith unlock to 'none' but didn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just started noticing that when I hit the power button on my N6 and it shuts off I hear a popping sound. I also hear it not when I swipe up and put in the pattern lock I have, but when the phone unlocks after that when the homescreen comes up. Is this Normal? I swear I didn't hear it before.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy old Nexus 5 (vanilla 5.1.1 not rooted) is malfunctioning. There is no sound coming from the speaker in the bottom of the phone and the microphone is not picking up any sound when making a normal call and/or recording a video. The speaker at the top of the phone however, is working. So I hear people in phone calls, but they do not hear me.Now to the strange part: If I change to the loud speaker while in a call it's the opposite; I can not hear them but they can hear me.If I connect headphones into the headphone jack I can hear sound both in calls and in video playback.
So to summarize:
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds): No sound
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds) with headphones: Sound working
Recording video: No sound recorded
Making a phone call: Sound but no microphone
Making a phone call with loudspeaker on: No sound but microphone working
Making a phone call with handsfree connected: Not tested (I have no headphones with mic).
And what's even more strange is that I just replaced the flex cable with the microphone and charging dock and also the entire speaker with new parts from eBay. And guess what... it's still not working!!!
I use the speaker on my N6 to listen to approx 4 hours of podcasts daily. In the past week, when I start a podcast, the speaker is nice & loud, then in approx 10 seconds it starts to lower until I can still hear it, but it's too low. If I hit Pause, then Start, it's loud again for 10 seconds. YouTube has same problem. Volume settings are at max.
I called support and went into Safe Mode and ran a video on YouTube, same thing. I factory reset the phone and before installing my podcast player (BeyondPod) I played a video and the volume started loud & then lowered.
I purchased the phone directly from Google and have a Sprint sim in it. Ver 5.1...
I received my Nexus 6 from Amazon. It seems as though the top speaker is considerably louder than the bottom. When I flip the phone upside down, it is still the top speaker that is louder.
When I turn the phone to landscape mode, it is the right speaker that it louder. I flip the orientation to where the former right speaker is now the left and vice versa. It's the same problem where the right speaker (the former left speaker) is still louder.
My nexus 5 was good with no problem before the update, and even 1 day after.
The problem started on yesterday, when suddenly the speaker didn't work. Tried to switch on and off the volume, and sometimes it does come back! But most of the time it silent.
While on a voice call in Hangout, how do I switch from speaker to ear-piece on Nexus 6...

Any good recs for a USB to USB C cable that is longer than 1 foot? At work I'm constantly plugged into my lap top but this short ass cable isn't cutting it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there a way in the stock messaging app, or is there a specific messaging app available in the play store where I could:
Draft a txt and then send to multiple recipients without each recipient being able to see the other? Basically the same thing as sending an email to multiple people via BCC option.
Would be handy for business purposes. I don't care if they see my contact. I just don't want them to see eachothers contact since not everyone I'd send to would know the other (and/or want their contact information shared).
Obviously I could copy and paste the same message to multiple people via individual txt msgs... but being able to send a group txt would be way more efficient.
I got my Nexus 6P in australia yesterday and I was playing around with the settings. One of the things I wanted to enable was Now on Tap but everytime I try and enable it (either through holding the home button, or doing it through Settings), it won't enable! When I click Get Started, nothing happens. If i'm in the settings app, the toggle just turns off after I press Get Started.
