Google Nexus 5 :: No Outgoing Audio In Regular Call Mode Generally
Jul 8, 2015
During calls my Nexus 5 has no audio in regular call mode generally, I can hear great, but people can't hear me at all. However, a headset works, and speaker phone works. More surprisingly, if you start in either of those modes, then go to regular call modes, the microphone works fine for about 30 seconds!
It has the regular vanilla Android 5.1.1 OS, I do not have root. But I would consider rooting if there was a fix.
My device runs on AOSIP Hammerhead 2.2 ROM with Solo Gapps. Everything was fine until 2 a couple of days back my device started rebooting at regular intervals. Sometimes when I unlock the screen it reboots, or which working with some application it reboots. After suggestions from some friends I did a dirty and clean flash as well and did a fresh flashing of the ROM + Gapps. But it still ain't resolving my problem.
I dont know how to block outgoing calls especially ISD calls in my N5 (updated to 4.4.4) all information in the net tells only to block incoming calls. Unfortunately due to oversight i dialled ISD number and it went on for 1 min charging me heavily.
I'm having a issue with my android phone (Google Nexus 5) & bluetooth system in my car. When I make an outgoing call it doesn't ring, the radio just continues to play. Once the person answers then they come over the car speakers. This just started a couple weeks ago. I've tried turn off "Ok Google" that hasn't fixed it.
The dialer does not show the current call duration for outgoing calls? Mine only shows for incoming calls. Also when viewing call history I can't seem to find call duration of individual calls.
I have two Nexus 5, one is running Lollipop 5.1.1, the other Marshmallow 6.0 (OTA upgrade).
USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success. Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.
I'm having some difficulty with doing this. Recently, a family member of mine had purchased a stereo system, more specifically, the LG mini hi-fi cm4320. Everything about the system seems to be functional except for USB port to mp3 capability. From the outside, it would appear that this should function the same as if it were a car stereo/radio system with the same USB connection option. Each time I try establish connection with my phone, the system's screen flashes "search/no USB", switching between the two. Is this an issue with my phone or the stereo system itself? In any case, how do I go about correcting it.
is it possible to get rid of it? I get some crackling with some audio files I got from zedge when they're really low, it's lame! I would rather have it the audio I set it up, not the gradual quiet to loud thing it keeps trying to do for everything. Examples are when I try to use speaker phone, receive a text, or an alarm I have set.
what I understand is that this option will allow the pc to get the sound output of my phone as an input device natively with no third-party software or drivers,
(I want to record the output of the phone with my PC since there's no apps for that)
Randomly my Nexus audio just cuts out. Its like there's a time limit to the audio tone starting and completing and if it doesnt meet that time limit, then it just doesnt make a tone. I usually have to adjust the volume to fix it. Even the volume tone cuts out on the first press of the button. Its like the audio drivers is stuck and needs to be reminded to execute.
Prior to owning the Nexus 5, I remember always having an option to attach video, picture, or voice memos straight from the text message app.. is there a way to do this with Hangouts.
i've just bought a xperia x10 mini pro... after reading the entire user guide, i still can't find the "counter" for total outgoing call time and outgoing sms. Anyone knows where to find this in the phone? previously when i was just W910i, this function was easily located.
For months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.
I have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.
I have N5 with latest Marshmallow updates (November 2015) rooted with ElementalX kernel installed. I have a very strange issue that while playing any local (not streaming) audio file, it plays with double or triple of its speed.
I used several apps to make sure it's not application based issue, the same occurs.
I can get to "start, recovery, bootloader (?)" page, but cannot select with volume button. When i press start, it just starts in safe mode. tried to shut down and start again (both by pressing power off by touch screen and holding the off button down). Did get to the menu that offers factory reboot and the like, but again, couldn't select anything with the volume button.
Running LMY48M. I am trying to enter recovery mode to wipe cache and all I get is the stupid robot on his back saying no command. I have tried volume up and power button no menu comes up... Phone is starting to have some quirks and figured I would try wiping cache before anything else.
I have my Nexus set to "all", but every so often I will see the little star at the top and realize it has changed to priority mode. Why it is happening?
My nexus 5 got stuck in airplane mode so I could neither send texts or make and recieve phone calls. Have already sent it to be fixed with sucess however a week later it stopped working again. Tried a hard reset but it has not worked.
My camera has gotten slow in hdr mode. Meaning, I hit the shutter and maybe 2 seconds later it begins the process of taking the picture. It didn't use to be this slow...In non-hdr it's fast, as it always has been. I cleared cache on the camera app, no change...
As battery life is one of the main problems with nexus and presumably white on black text uses less battery than black on white, I am surprised that most google apps don't have this as an option.
A colleague of mine (yes honestly it wasnt me) reported that his Nexus 5 was stuck with as he put it "the wee android man in the middle of the screen" Then, before he give the phone to me to look at he said that he had tried some things with images to get it to work but it didnt work. so truthfully i am not sure what he has done or not done but the phone is stuck as follows:
When you turn the phone on you have the android robot which looks like it is doing an update.
I have gone into bootloader where I have the option to Start, Recovery Mode, Restart Bootloader and Power Off. The lock state in the Fastboot mode shows unlocked.
No matter which option you take (Even Recovery) it just goes back to the android screen that looks like it is trying to update....i cant get to the android with the exclamation mark that would allow me to do a factory reset. At this stage of the game im not worried about any lost data etc.
I'd love to enable the diagnostic mode in my Nexus 5 so that I can trace the radio interface with software such as QXDM, X-CAL, etc... but I've had no luck so far.
basically I'm trying to change the variable sys.usb.config to [diag, adb] as shown in this post for the Nexus 4. I'm doing:
(if you run getprop you see that the correct order is sys.usb, not usb.sys as shown in that post)
However, when I enter this command the phone automatically reboots... and the value is reverted back to [mtp, adb].
Do you know of any 'friendlier' way to enable diag mode on the Nexus 5? For example, in the Galaxy S4 you can just dial *#0808# to get into the USB config menu, which easily allows you choose the DM mode... but I can't find a similar menu on the Nexus 5.
Seems a bit absurd to me that a developer-oriented phone is the hardest one to put in diag mode... I am rooted...
Why does Facebook completely ignore priority mode? I have it set up for bo notifications apart from calls at night time and yet every morning when I wake up (or if I wake up in the night) there's a bloody blue flashing light for a Facebook notification!! How to stop it?
2.Cannot access recovery mode from fastboot : shows google logo and black screen (no inverted android)
3.When selecting Start from fastboot : only google logo appears and then black screen (not even the marshmallow boot animation)
Things Tried :
1.Phone was able to ring from android device manager. Tried erase from there. No response
2.Tried flashing the stock rom still no response.
What might be the issue ? Is the internal memory corrupted ?The phone boots up able to hear screen shot sound but still black screen..The LG customer care replaced the flex cable and it works now. It costs 1600INR (around 15$)
I got a nexus 5 that won't boot into recovery or download mode. What can i do? I'm not sure if it has custom recovery or original.
When i try to boot with VOL-DOWN+POWER it shows google logo and then a constant red light on the home button. if i take my fingers off it will just power off.
When i try to boot with VOL-UP+POWER it shows google logo and then a flashing red light on the home button. if i take my fingers off it will just power off.

My phone stuck on the circles dots that spins i gave it like 30 mints and nothing, when i try to plug it in the PC i dont have the drivers and when i try to get in the recovery mode i get the no command massage....
