Google Nexus 5 :: Block Outgoing Calls Especially ISD?
Sep 6, 2014
I dont know how to block outgoing calls especially ISD calls in my N5 (updated to 4.4.4) all information in the net tells only to block incoming calls. Unfortunately due to oversight i dialled ISD number and it went on for 1 min charging me heavily.
I'm having a issue with my android phone (Google Nexus 5) & bluetooth system in my car. When I make an outgoing call it doesn't ring, the radio just continues to play. Once the person answers then they come over the car speakers. This just started a couple weeks ago. I've tried turn off "Ok Google" that hasn't fixed it.
Does the Nexus 5 have a native feature to block calls and text w/o having to buy a 3rd party app just like iphone iOS7 now has such feature to block unwanted calls or text. The brief moment that I had my Nexus 5, I spent a lot of time searching for the native feature and I didn't find it, had to download a 3rd party app instead.
During calls my Nexus 5 has no audio in regular call mode generally, I can hear great, but people can't hear me at all. However, a headset works, and speaker phone works. More surprisingly, if you start in either of those modes, then go to regular call modes, the microphone works fine for about 30 seconds!
It has the regular vanilla Android 5.1.1 OS, I do not have root. But I would consider rooting if there was a fix.
The dialer does not show the current call duration for outgoing calls? Mine only shows for incoming calls. Also when viewing call history I can't seem to find call duration of individual calls.
I have a Nexus 5 D820 running 6.0 and I'm having some connection issues when it comes to long distance calls, especially 1-800 number and some local calls. What its doing is i will be talking and i will have LTE full bars great signal and bam drop call. Sometimes i cant even get the number to go through.
It looks like ever since using the Nexus 5 I've been getting a bunch of missed calls without any sort of notice (i.e. no ringing, and no history of the call). The only way I find out is by getting a voicemail notification shortly after.
I have a Nexus 5 running Android Kit Kat 4.4.2. Overall this is a great phone but i am facing some issues that i will describe below:
1) This i noticed 2 months ago. I dont know if it still has it: I was calling a friend and he didnt answer. Then the whole day i was waiting for him to call back but he never did (at least according to my phone). When i called him again he told me that he called me back, the phone rang 3 times and then he got the message we get when someone rejects the call or the phone is out of battery. I never had a missing call to know that he called back. This is a very tricky error, since maybe you are missing incoming calls from your boss. To you it appears like you never received the call, but to your boss it seems like you are ignoring him. Not a good thing.
2) This is a problem i am getting for the last 2 months. When someone calls and the device is sleeping, i hear the ringing, i unlock the phone but what i get is the main page of the device. No incoming call notification, no dialer, nothing.Only the ringtone. If i press the phone app i get 3 choices:
a) use touch tone keypad b)return to call in process c)add call
Pressing "return to call in process" doesnt do a thing. To see who has called you, you must go to the missed calls after the ringing is over. Also if you dont restart the device, the problem stays there. The only solution is to restart the device. After restarting the device the problem goes away for 2-3 days and then it happens again.
I dont know if other Nexus 5 owners are experiencing the same problems, but since a smart phone is based on making and receiving calls, these 2 problems must be addressed by Google ASAP.
Also, i am not willing to factory reset my device, if i am not sure that this will 100% solve the problem.
PS1: My device is NOT rooted.
PS2: My brother's Nexus 4 started having the same problem (problem number 2) after updating to Kit Kat 4.4.2. But not in the same frequency as my Nexus 5.
I cannot hear telephone calls with MY nexus 6 loudspeaker, but I can hear with head set. It is only forma telephone calls, I perfectly hear forma example a video on YouTube with the device louddpeaker, bit noto telephone calls.
I'm not sure but i think my nexus kinda has a very low sound output during voice calls.. I can barely hear anything at full volume in a not so loud environment..
I've switched from an iPhone 4s to the Nexus 6 a month ago. I'm loving the android! I've noticed there are some challenges with setting ringtones for text messages from my contacts. I still can't figure how to do this. Am I missing something? Apple sure made it easy so I am wondering why android makes it so difficult for those that are new to the android world.
How to make the camera flash light up when a phone call or text message is received. I have tried a couple different apps that I've used on other phones but none seem to work on the Nexus 6.
Okay so my Sprint Nexus 6 is not receiving calls while it's connecting to Wi-Fi and on LTE the only way I can get the phone to receive calls consistently is keep it on 3G this issue is been reported all over the internet I've had the phone for 10 months and just really noticed it was doing this. It appears to be an issue with Wi-Fi and LTE on at the same time if I'm out and about and not on Wi-Fi LTE in phone calls work fine but if I'm in the doors and have Wi-Fi on my phone will stop receiving calls after about 10 minutes of sitting.
I just flashed the OTA update for Android 6.0 last week on my Nexus 5 and I noticed that with the new update, phone calls no longer get routed through Bluetooth on my Mazda3. It is able to pair fine with the car and can stream music through Bluetooth, but calls do not go through.
Here is what happens: When I place a call, the audio automatically gets routed back to the phone. If the other person picks up, calls will continue going through the phone speaker unless I manually select route through Bluetooth. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't, but it does get frustrating trying this workaround especially while driving.
I tried unpairing and re-pairing bluetooth with the car, cleared the data and cache of the Bluetooth app on the phone, and even tried a factory reset, but the problem still persists. For the record, when I did this with Lollipop 5.1.1, it worked without a hitch.
I am currently on Pure White rom latest version and I am unable to make or receive phone calls I tried other roms like cyanogen, xenon, chroma, and etc different radios (47I, 48B, etc) still nothing...
I went to tmobile store, switched the sim.. nothing... called customer service they said it's the phone... Data works, text message works...
For the last few days all of my calls are breaking up on incoming and outgoing. At first I thought that it was the other person that I was talking to but after doing many calls, it is my phone. Is there anything I could do to get this problem solved?
When receiving a call, half the screen is blank. I only get to see the top of the contacts picture and the green and red "phones" for answering and rejecting the call are also not visible.
