Google Nexus 5 :: Bluetooth Wake Lock Persisting Through Android
Nov 30, 2015So I have been using stock ROM or very close to for the past 6months or so and constantly have this issue despite clean wiping multiple times while moving from Lolipop to M preview to M. At first I thought it was my specific car but now is happening with the rental I have.i am new to Bluetooth so maybe normal but I don't think so. When I connect to my cars Bluetooth then make a call, after the call I get a constant "bluesleep" wake lock until I turn Bluetooth off. If I make a call during the day while driving then get out of the car when I get home, it keeps my phone awake all night unless I remember to turn blue tooth off.Ive noticed it only happens once I make a call or use the Bluetooth for something. If I just simply connect to my car, I don't get a wake lock.
Is this how Bluetooth is supposed to work? I can't imagine so but the fact I'm basically stock and have wiped many times and different android versions makes me think maybe it's just an android thing.

I saw a thread on Slickdeals that stated Google was replacing broken phones with re-furbished phones is purchased through the Play store. In the thread several people stated that there were GPS problems with the 1 batch of phones.

Aug 13, 2014I love my Nexus 5. It's blazing fast and does everything I need but I have one small problem with it. In the latest update (4.4.4) Google updated the Dialer App. The UI is amazing but there's a thing about the app that annoys me a lot.
I have set 5 of my closest friends which I call a lot on Speed Dial/Favourites.
However, every time I call anyone else in my contacts they automatically get added to the same Speed Dial menu and I have to manually clear those by clicking "clear frequents" or removing them one by one. Is there a way to disable this annoying feature?

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.

Oct 10, 2015their N6 on Sprint where Sprint service essentially turns off whenever Wi-Fi is on. This is the only way I've been able to describe my issues with the N6. Whenever I am at home, I am usually on Wi-Fi because it works more reliably than LTE. So whenever someone calls me, the call goes straight to voicemail. I only receive a missed call notification if someone leaves a voicemail. I've been able to test this out with family members where I turn on Wi-Fi, they call me, and the call goes straight to VM. Then, I turn off Wi-Fi, they call me again, and I get the call.
Keeping LTE on all the time (and Wi-Fi off) would not be an issue but for the fact that Sprint's service notoriously sucks inside any building made of concrete (even in Manhattan). I'm not ready to switch providers because I've been grandfathered into a no-throttle unlimited everything plan where I essentially can use 5GB of data each month and pay a reasonable price. I moved to NYC recently and before lived in the D.C. area, where I lived in a house adjacent to a tower. There, I didn't mind keeping Wi-Fi off because I always had great LTE.
This is quite frustrating and it appears to be documented to some effect on Sprint's website (without a fix, of course). Sprint has now reset my network, PRL, and profile; and the only other option appears to be replacing the phone through my insurance. I'm hesitant, though, because I preordered a 6P.

Jul 30, 2015I've got this issue for about two or three days now. Quite often, when I take a picture with stock Google camera app, my Nexus turns off instantly. Then, when I try to turn it on again, it often turns off again in about one minute and usually it shows almost empty battery (even though before shutdown it was nearly full).
First it has appeared on stock rooted 4.4.4, the phone tried to boot like 10 times, so I erased cache and dalvik via TWRP, but then it didn't detect SIM card and showed unknown baseband. I solved it by flashing bootloader and radio.
Then, I installed a stock 5.1.1, rooted it again (I thought it would solve the issue), but the same problem with camera occurred. So, could it be hardware issue? How to debug it?

USB Audio out works fine on the Lollipop Nexus 5: I can connect a USB DAC (iBasso D-zero MK2) using an OTG cable and play streaming music with Spotify, Google Play Music and local music files with Rocket Player. Connecting the same USB DAC with the same cable to the Marshmallow Nexus 5 fails: no sound when playing streaming music and local files using the same apps. (The USB Audio Player Pro app works fine on the Marshmallow Nexus 5, though, allowing to play local music files via USB.)
I tried the "Select USB Configuration" setting in Developers Options and set it to "Audio Source", with no success. Also, the "Disable USB audio routing" setting in Developers Options is disabled.

Oct 24, 2015I flashed factory image of android 6 on the day of the release. I've had worse wifi signal than I had on 5.1.1, a very notable change. In my wife's nexus 5 I waited till the ota update, and that phone doesn't have the same issue. I've tried flashing the radio from 5.1.1,but didn't see any change. I also refreshed to stock 6.0,and performed factory reset.
I'm at like 60% signal when sitting next to the router.

I bought a webcam on amazon for around $20 and they were complete crap, i cant afford anything more right now and i have both these devices with great cameras already. is there a way to connect them through usb to my PC so i can use them as a webcam? I tried ip webcam but my internet suck and when i stream both the video and anything online it lags and i need lag free. I assumed connecting through usb would be better, but i cant find anything good on how to do that. i tried WO Webcam but it connects briefly and then just disconnects.

Sep 7, 2015My nexus 5 worked perfectly with Android File Transfer, and suddenly, about a week ago it stopped working, nothing has changed in that week, except that AFT was behaving in an unexpected manner and I force quit it several times. The device shows charging but no connection. When I open AFT, it says plug in the Android device.
I did usual troubleshooting:
1) checked on the mac attached devices, my phone wasn't one of them
2) re-installed Android File Transfer, same issue
3) trying changing the settings on the device - turning off and on the USB debugging, changing type of connection with the computer from Media device to camera and back.
4) Restarted both devices and tried various cables, still nothing.
