Google Nexus 5 :: Gmail Aoo - Yahoo Mail Stops Syncing
Jul 25, 2015Rather than using the yahoo mail app i simply use gmail to access my yahoo account, but for the last few weeks it hasn't been syncing.
I delete the account and re add it and it works for a day but then it stops syncing, i delete the account again and add it and it works for another day but then it stops. Is yahoo neutering anyone that isn't using their app to check mail?
Google Nexus 5 :: Swiping Music App From Recent Tasks Stops Playback
Jul 10, 2014I'm running CM11 M8, but I've been having this problem with many previous builds.Problem is, whenever I'm listening to music using either the Google Music app or Apollo, and I decide to clear the recent tasks list, playback is stopped. I would assume this was by design, if it weren't for three factors.
1) This post by Diane Hackborn, specifically "uses the new API to tell any services of the application about the task being removed so it can do whatever it thinks is appropriate."
And I should hardly think that stopping playback just cos you're clearing the recent tasks is appropriate. One should be allowed to clear the recent tasks list entirely, and see no change in phone behaviour. The recent task list is not a task manager.
2) This wasn't the way it used to behave (I think circa Jellybean)
3) The Music icon remains in the notification bar even when playback stops.
Is this a bug underlying 4.4.4? Or is a problem with CM only?

Mar 18, 2015I have been unable to figure this out... I want to send a single sms message to two recipients (my kids) via the hangouts app. one of my kids is an apple fan and they don't use hangouts or google plus.
I have tried selecting and unselecting the MMS to group messaging box in the settings and it seems to have no effect. I can't figure out how to select two contacts for sms.
Nexus 5 running 5.1 on hangouts version 3.0.87531466 and am using google voice on AT&T.
Google Nexus 5 :: Navigation Bar No More Transparent
Apr 23, 2014So, I own the Nexus 4 and I had installed Google Now launcher over the stock launcher and the transparency was just fine. Today, I decided to switch to Action Launcher and imported the Google Now Launcher settings. It asked me again, to which Google Launcher was not present. So, I selected stock. Now, the problem is, my status bar remains transparent, which is how I like it, but the navigation bar is black. On all launchers. I tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling Google Now Launcher, uninstalling Action Launcher, but no success. However when I swipe to Google Now from the Google Now launcher, it shows me a transparent navigation bar, but not on the home screen or lockscreen when using Google now launcher. What can I do?

Apr 11, 2014I have a Nexus 5, completely stock 4.4.2, never tampered
Whenever there are multiple updates in the Play Store and I press "Update", the first app updates, then the second one starts downloading, but the download hangs at some point, then after a few seconds the entire Play Store app closes without any message.
After that I can open the Play Store again and try to update the apps, but they only update one at a time, because on the second update it always crashes.
All the Google apps are at the latest versions, Play Store has version 4.6.17. This is happening for a while now, but I can't pinpoint it to a certain version of the Play Store app, but in the past I did not have this problem.
I've tried restarting the device, clearing data and cache for the Play Store app, clearing the cached data for the entire system, even switching the runtime (btw the problem is happening on both Dalvik and ART), but nothing worked.
I also have enough Available space: 4 GB as reported in Settings/Storage.
On my wife's Nexus 4, also completely stock and with updated Google apps, the problem it's not happening, so it's not something in my environment.

Dec 14, 2015When I have BT activated on the N6P along with Google Maps Nav, the sound output (voice directions) is either:a. When phone is set to BT stream music = sound command is partially cutoff at the beginning - orb. If the radio is on = No sound output is heard at allGoogle Nav is set to output sound via BT under its settings.
This also happened on my OnePlus One. I thought I had read somewhere that this happen because of the BT format that Android sends to the car's audio system is incompatible.

Mar 9, 2010I have a Bold 9000 on the AT&T network running v5.0.0.464. I'm having a problem with the Mute button (on top). I use the button to put the device into sleep/hibernation/whatever. I have had this problem with three devices (all 9000's) and have had each replaced because I was told that it was a hardware error by the AT&T rep. However, I have done some testing on additional devices (corp. environment) and have been able to reproduce the issue, or more accurately stated, I have been able to observe the issue occurring on each device in my test group over time.
Basically, when the device is new, the button works very snappy. Over time, looks like 2-3 months, the button begins to show intermittent issues and takes longer and longer being held down to activate the function (starting or sleeping). Eventually, this function has quit working on every device I've tested (out of the box devices with no apps beyond the delivered ones installed). Removing the battery repeatedly and on a regular schedule of once a week has not had an impact on the issue during testing or in Prod. Being new to supporting these devices I looked around and did some searching but haven't found a solution that has worked for our situation.

Nov 30, 2015I've noticed that 4K video recording seems to be capped at approximately 8 minutes. I've had 2 separate videos stop recording at this time. Is there a way to bypass it? I have plenty of space on my 64GB 6P, so it'd be great to take advantage of all that space. Is is a processor or heat related issue?

Huawei Nexus 6P :: YouTube Stops Working After 6.0.1 Update
Dec 13, 2015My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset.
Moto X (2014) :: Google Apps Freezes Repeatedly And Phone Stops Responding
Apr 22, 2015I have the Moto X 2nd gen, and I have been having several issues with the phone, mainly I repeatedly have a "Google Apps" popup saying that is not responding and asking me to report the issue. I get these error maybe 3-4 times a day and restart my phone when the issues doesn't die down.
Also, my phone stops responding at certain times and it just stutters along.
Is this my phone or should I do a factory reset? Also, will the 5.1 update fix any if these issues, I hoping not to have to restore to factory default.

Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.

Feb 27, 2015Yesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.

Aug 22, 2015I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

Google Nexus 5 :: Stuck At Google Logo After Deleting Some Apps
Nov 4, 2015today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..
