My S6 is now on 5.0.2.The same version it was when I got the device. Whenever I try to search for an update, it says "latest version already installed".
I tried connecting to smart switch on PC..still the same..my buddy who also owns an s6 here, has already received the 5.1.1 update.
I have an S6. And it has had the latest software update. Ever since yesterday, I am not receiving any notifications for ANYTHING, be it messages, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc, I only see I have a message if I click directly into the app and then it shows me i have new text/snap or whatevs. This is frustrating so much!!!!! Ive checked in my settings and I have all my notifications switched on, I even set them as a priority but still no joy! I have also restarted my device a couple of times in the hope that would work but nope ....

Power saving is off, app optimization for WhatsApp is on default setting (can't change it because it is a system app), and data is running properly. All other apps do push notifications just fine. Running 5.1.1 COI9 build.

My husband (who has an iPhone) has sent numerous event invites. They aren't showing up in S Planner or in my email. Yet I can send him an invite in S Planner and he will receive it on his iPhone.
View 2 Replies View Relatedstarting just over a week ago my Ford Sync (not Ford Touch) stopped receiving texts from my s5. I have tried unpairing and repairing the phone and sync, I get the message to allow acess to my phone book but not for texts (even doubled check that MAP profile was on, it was). Message notification set to on also. I think my phone updated, and that's when the texts stopped working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently made the switch from an iPhone 6 to a SG6 Edge. I am loving the phone except for one key thing. I am unable to receive text messages that are over 160 characters. I know that once an SMS is over 160 characters, it turns into an MMS. But the thing is, my MMS settings are set up, everything should be working okay.
I don’t know if this matters but this phone is unlocked with Sprint, and I am currently using Rogers as my service provider. If I cant find any resolution to this I think I am going to have to switch phones either back to an iphone (which I don’t want to) or another Android phone.
Here is the list of things I have done to try to fix this problem:
-Factory reset my phone, didn’t work
-Configured my MMS and APN settings manually.
-Sent myself a picture message, received it fine.
-Sent myself a message over 160 characters, received it fine.
-Used the stock messaging app, as well as 3 different ones. (currently using textra due to the simplicity of it)
-When I had my iphone, I disabled the iMessage, also went on the apple website to make sure my phone isn’t linked to imessage. Its completely off
-Rogers said it’s a problem on the other end (contacts aren’t sending messages properly)
-this is false because I wont get any messages from android users, blackberry users, and iphone users. Its not just one or two contacts, its my whole contact list.
-few of my buddies have the S6 edge and none of them have this problem. (few switched from iphone)
The only solution I can possibly think of is getting a different sim card, but service provider said this will do absolutely nothing.
I run a business and I need to be able to receive SMS messages over 160 characters (no I will not use a 3rd party app which Samsung suggested. I need my texts to work.)
I switched from an iPhone to the S5 in mid december and have had issues with getting texts. I have read a lot about it, so I shut off iMessage on my mac and even disabled my number with iMessage on Apple's site. However, I am still not receiving some texts from iPhones. If they send a text just to me i get it fine (even though they may have to click send as a text message) but I won't be able to get it in a group text. It is frustrating because I can see some texts but not all of them. This has been happening for over a month now.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I have a Samsung S6 Galaxy through Verizon. I also use the Message+ stock app that Verizon has placed on the phone.
My lock screen is disabled through a 3rd party app (No Lock), so when I previously received a text message, my screen would awaken, and a preview of said text message would show up in the status bar.
Now i had to reset my phone, and upon resetting, my phone will still show the blinking LED light, and make the sound associated with receiving a text message. However the screen no longer lights up, so now if i want to read the test message int the status bar, I have to hit the power button to light up my phone. Very annoying.
I have went through the settings where there used to be a checkbox that said "show preview in status bar and lock screen", but that selection no longer seems to be there. I will also say that if my screen is already awake (either if i'm currently using the phone, or the screen hasn't turned off yet), the preview of the text message DOES show up in the status bar.
I will use another app that just awakes my phone when a notification is received...but i don't want something that has pop-ups, widgets, and the like. I really just want my phone to awaken as it did prior due to the reset, without (seeing at least) any add-on's, etc.
After the update all my photos disappeared. Checked in the galley section and Facebook but they are not there. Where they could have been moved to.

But it won't stop going from the samsung screen, to the AT&T scree, to the optimizing apps screen, and loading maybe 12/65 apps, and then going black, and then back to the samsung screen. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just got the Lollipop update this morning and I setup a pattern lock instead of my fingerprint, was working just fine. I was doing some things around the house with using Google Music All Access to listen to music, went to switch music and I cannot get into my phone, doesn't even register that I'm trying to put in a pattern.
This is not good, can't even get in my phone to call anyone. Nothing is recognizing my touch.
My S5 call waiting is strange! When a call comes in through call waiting, 2 things happen:
1. I cant pick up the new incoming call! After swiping it stays on call #1. And then
2. Whether I swipe for the new call or not, It will hang up both calls after 5 seconds!
I thought updating may work, but I continuously get a "check back later Update is unavailable"(my wording) message through my phone,or it wont allow me to update through the Verizon update fix while plugged into the pc.

Occasionally when I attempt to make a phone call from either a contact, missed call, or the keypad the screen will flash like its attempting to call but it just goes straight back to whatever screen I had up. It doesn't even say call ended or call lost. Sometimes I have to click call 3-4 times before it goes through.I just cleared my cache and will see if it continues?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know my way around PC hardware and OS's.My problem sarted when I went to the T-mobile update. Phone stuck on "downloading update...", blue text on white background. Unable to boot into recovery, but was able to get into download mode. I found the correct ICS firmware update .tar file, but Odin 1.85 will not work. It always sticks on Setup Connection. Others fixed this by using differnt USB port and/or cable. Tried all 10 USB ports, nada; don't have another cable, but I'm out to get one this morning. I assume if I can get to download mode I'm not totally bricked. Only way I can get into d/l mode is to remove the battery, otherwise phone just boots to white update screen.I'm looking at a $200 brick! Wonder if I should just walk in to a T-mobile outlet and demand a fix.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got this phone as a gift, an SM-G920F. And it already has SuperSU in it when I got it. Which means it's already rooted if I'm not mistaken. I'm liking the phone and hoping to know more about it.
Anyway I discovered that you can only change the media volume with the rockers when a video or music is playing. And it defaults to ringtone otherwise. Same thing happens when the media pauses in the middle of playback. But I never change my ringtone volume. It's either on, off, or vibrate.
So I browsed the web for fixes. And found this app called Rocker Locker. I tried it but it was a huge battery drain, so it wasn't a permanent fix. I also found out that this behavior was changed in Marshmallow. Having the rockers change media volume by default.
Tried to check for OTA updates. But it said something about phone being modified. Which was lucky, because I've also read not to take OTA updates while rooted.
Long story short. How do I update from Lollipop to Marshmallow in a rooted phone?
I Lost my phone yesterday I tracked it through the find my iphone app. It pops up but says offline. phone is still receiving calls it rings 4 times then goes to voicemail, so I know its on.

This issue has been happning for a while, but for the last week or so it has been happening more frequently. A phone call arrives and sends the phone into a reset, similar to what QuickPull would do. No open apps, no error message, it just resets.I have searched a bit, but have not found anyone posting a similar issue so far. I run the stock T-Mobile OS, and a few extra RIM and 3rd party apps.

I never faced ever any kind of difficulties to use other series of Samsung except Samsung S6....First of all there is no option to forward contact name and numbers through SMS. Second is all photos has been shifted from Phone Gallery to Google Gallery. Now I unable to add any photos in my contact numbers also I downloaded photo but did not find in the photo gallery.

ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.

I called Samsung and they had me search the phone in several places to look for the pictures with no luck. Has anyone lost pictures after an update? How to find my photos? Also I dont recive any of the updates for "Extras+info" that i keep hearing about. I know some people are saying to go to windowsphone.com and force the update from Puchased apps but it doesnt show up there.
